Dear everyone, From the readers to judges to all the writers who drew up the level of this competition and to the oraganisers- a huge THANKYOU for putting up this big grin on my face. I had been struggling with Physics and Chemistry when I managed to open up this page with my absolutely useless Vodafone internet pack :P It's 6:40 am and I'm readying myself up for school(Hardly! I am bundled up in a cozy blanket in my hostel room 😆) ANYHOW, I truly honestly am not being even the slightest bit modest when I say that I least expected to win this :) I knew the bar was raised high from all those wonderful entries and I was hoping to get a mention among them :P But not to lie, I was overwhelmed after reading the result, so much so that my roommates snatched my phone away 🤣 I am just rambling I know, but thankyou to ANYONE who read and voted for me. To Sona for those wonderful lines she wrote about Paani ke sapne(EEP!) , to Zehra for being the wonderful judge and saying the truth-something I had myself felt about what I wrote, I promise to improve in future! To DeviatedTorso for the judgement as well. And a hearty congratulations to all the winners, you all were WAY awesome :D I am sorry my comment is messed up but I am devoid of any kind of technology in hostel except a mobile phone :| PS- I am Risha. I have been writing since an year and a half. I write on Arnav and Khushi, not much nowadays though. I am clearly surprised. I would like to thank each and everyone who voted my OS and also liked it. One day, I just happened to see the thread saying Arhi OS contest and went through the rules. I remember it was 10th Oct. I saw the genres and the quote and decided, why not try it? So I just wrote and OS and sent it immediately. Then I got a PM from DoNotDisturb that mine was entry 1 and I was kinda nervous. I thought perhaps I sent it too early and that I should have taken more time.
But I am glad that I didn't. Along with the readers,I would also like to thank Manjari for conducting the competition and to all the three judges for giving us their fair and honest reviews. Also a big thanks to DeviatedTesoro for choosing my OS to be the most romantice one😊

To Lazyleaves:
Entry 1. Although the concept was good, I wanted the story to give me more details about the background. There was something vital lacking. If turned in to an SS, it can turn out to be good :)

I know, I had a lot to write but there was also the pressure of finishing it within 3000 words. But since you suggest, I will definitely think about making this an SS. Thanks for your honest opinion😊

I am taking the initiative of answering this but If I get wrong somewhere, Manji could correct it. 😃

After getting my scorecard, I think.
For the most popular OS, only the member votes were considered. 'Price of Happiness' got most votes and so this is our 'Most Popular OS'.

For the Winner OS 2013, Member votes + Judges score were summed up and the highest scorer is our Winner OS.

The winner OS from each genre were decided by the judges only(I am not sure about this one)

And special mention were given to the OS which on overall got high score (member's vote+judges score)but not high enough to be a winner..

Similar was the procedure for top ten OSs.

The top ten highest scorer among 26 were listed.

That was all. 😊

So very glad to see all 3 entries I voted for featured in the top 10, not to mention 2 of them winning away! 👏 👏 👏

There was one thing I wanted to say, just as a reader of all the entries - and I am not the remotest of any authority to be making a statement, it is merely an observation, as I perceived it.

While I found the potential to be engaging in almost all entries, what I found largely amiss was the knack of wrapping up a story in the space of a one shot. Several entries with potential skeletons of stories didn't flesh out naturally for me - they were either rushed or packed or vacant in parts. The reason I couldn't enjoy them as much as I would have, sans the limitation of a 'one shot' is because the writing was cramped by this condition.
On the other hand, those that I did quite enjoy, awed me very much by just how complete and entertaining they could turn out to be in the same said space!

Overall, very good effort from everyone 👏
