Episode 109

No Way Out!

At the RM the pooja has begun, excluding one Arnav Singh Raizada, but surprisingly there is a young woman in a teal sari who is attending, Lavanya. Nani begins Mami follows, and Shyam and Anjali together; Anjali all smiles but Shyam's thoughts are elsewhere'😡😡

Kushi at her home has begun her pooja, followed by Payal. In the background Babuji is in his wheelchair and Garima behind him and Buaji besides them all taking part as best they can. There is sadness at Kushi's home; they help Babuji with the pooja. After pooja Payal and Kushi place Babuji into bed, Payal asks Kushi why she has to go to the Raizada's house tonight. Babuji is aware. Kushi answers that Anjali has done so much and given so much to her family the least she can do is bring them sweets. Kushi turns and places her hand on DM and prays that she heals her father and brings happiness back to their house. The music just enhances the feel of sadness in their home and makes me cry. The sincerity in Kushi and Babuji's eyes is just so beautiful.

And now she is off; Payal and Kushi are packing up the sweets and one of the sweets is packaged differently, Payal asks why. Kushi says that is for Arnavji' uh, he has ones without sugar. She almost got caught. His sweets wrapped so nicely and her LG no longer called LG but Arnavji. Watch out Kushi you may get caught!

At the RM, Lavanya opens the door to her friends! Pam, Wam, Sam, whatever their names,(Neetu, Ritu) you know those stupid girls from the office. La says Happy Diwali and they are in shock she is wearing a sari. They give each other air kisses and Mami is just a hoot asking what is this and asks why her friends are so strange. She introduces the girls to Nani and the others. She shows them how to say hello with folded hands, Namaste. Pretty impressive I must say, so far Lavanya is doing well.

Anjali asks Om Prakash to make sure there is no pineapple inShyam's pudding he is allergic. Thedoorbell rings and Anjali says it must be Kushi. Shyam goes into panic mode, what is he going to do? Kushi enters and he is trying to leave and Anjali says she wants him to meet Kushi.

What's taking her so long to come? Anjali keeps calling her but Kushi has brought many sweets and is explaining all of them to OP. She makes sure he knows which ones are for Arnav. Come, Anjali says and she says she is coming. Shyam drops a package and while Anjali goes to pick it up he scoots into the kitchen.

Kushi says Happy Diwali as Anjali looks around for Shyam. Kushi distributes her sweets, Mami doesn't take nor hugs, Kushi takes blessings from Nani. Anjali says she will go check on her husband.

Shyam has no way out. He must do something so Kushi does not meet him. OP tells Shyam that his pudding is on the counter the one without pineapple. OP has given Shyam a way out. He sees the pineapple pudding and eats some knowing he is allergic and will be ill. He eats it and starts sneezing almost immediately. Anjali comes and goes into panic mode, OP is being admonished for something he didn't do. It was Shyam who was cornered with no way out, that he chose to do this terrible thing. Sneezing, he places his hanky over his face as they pass everyone asks what happened, starting with Kushi, and Anjali tells them he ate pineapple accidently and he is allergic so she is bringing him to their room. Anjali helps him to his room where he will take his allergy medicine and be able to hide out the whole night; absolutely disgusting. You are now tangled in your own web, you nasty spider.

(Indi, I am glad you have some insecticide! Keep it handy!)

Kushi says to Nani let's go and prepare the offerings for the Goddess. They leave to go to the home mandir where La is with her friends.

"Stop, Stop, STOP!" Lavanya yells to her friends, they must remove their shoes before entering the temple. They will light the lamps and by then ASR should be done with his conference call and they can talk. The girls look at each other and say,"Take off our shoes? No wayzzz." This was most impressive about La'her answer.

"Yes girls, the God is here and this is a special sacred place for Nani."

The girls answer, is this really Lavanya or does she have a split personality?

Nani and Kushi come and observe the scene.

Laxmi enters. The girls freak out and La calms them. They say dogs have names but a goat? La says she is really lovely and a member of the family. La tells Laxmi to go to Nani's room so she doesn't get hurt. How sweet, La! They tell La to stop talking so boring and they attempt to enter the temple again with their shoes on. "Guys! I have already told you that God is there you must remove your shoes. It is a sacred place for Nani and I don't want to hurt Nani's feelings."

The girls answer indignantly,"Naniji, the one with all the wrinkles on her face? Who does she think she is? She looked at us as if we were aliens."

Nani and Kushi overhear and Kushi is holding Nani's shoulder for support.

La answers, "Enough girls, this is not funny. Do not talk that way about Nani. She is older than us and you must respect that. Okay?"

Nani and Kushi smile.

Pam says to Lavanya to stop acting like an old fashioned girl.

She answers, just because she is taking care of her family and their feelings does not make her an old fashioned girl. AND just because you conduct yourself in the way you just did does not make you modern. Okay? It took her some time to realize this. There is nothing wrong with learning traditions, morals and values. If you do not like something but it makes the elders happy then what is the problem in doing it for them?

"Pam says, La, whatever. Girls, let's go." And they leave.

Nani turns to Kushi and says," You have done an outstanding job. You not only have changed her appearance but her mentality. Is this the same girl? Bless you dear!"

All are happy and we are very proud of Lavanya!

Nani leaves and Kushi goes to Lavanya. Lavanya puts out her hand and says Happy Diwali. Kushi looks at her and gives her a crushing hug. She gives her sweets and La takes a bite and gives some to Kushi. So sweet the bond these girls have developed. Lavanya tells Kushi about the mistake Di made with the sarees. The red is ASR favorite color so she was supposed to wear it and the blue one was for Kushi.

*Note: ASR is wearing ta shirt that matches Lavanya. Is this a hint of what is going to happen?

Kushi apologizes and Lavanya says don't be so silly. It's okay. She tells Kushi she looks beautiful in this sari.

Down in the large hall of the Raizada Mansion Kushi is setting up the diyas in the circular rows for Diwali. Lavanya comes over with a basket full of crackers. Lavanya asks does she like them and Kushi responds that they contribute to noise pollution and that they risk children's lives working in the factories. They are made with child labor therefore she does not encourage the use of fireworks. Diwali means illumination not noise and look how beautiful this place looks with the diyas! Good lesson for us Kushi and Lavanya says she will put them away then and get some more oil for the lamps.

In the quiet of the night, a gust of wind occurs as a man walks down the stairs a phone to his ear, he stops, the phone slowly coming down from his ear, he sees a radiant beauty in red, illuminated by soft firelight, Kushi. He is mesmerized and hypnotized; he is drawn to her. Slowly he walks over and he watches as she lights the diya and she has a soft smile on her face. Blowing out the candle something happens, she is made aware of his presence and her eyes lift up to see him intently staring at her. She looks at him and then away, he can seduce her with his eyes; she averts her eyes.

If she continues to gaze into his eyes she will be whisked away into her dreamland, where rose petals and sparkling stars fall from the sky.

She stands up, maybe that will give her some leverage against his paralyzing gaze. She has to look away from him; he looks satisfied to just stand there with his gaze on her and an ever so slight smile on his face. He approves. She is stunning in another red sari.

They are interrupted;

oh yes, by HIS live-in girlfriend.

Lavanya says to Kushi,"Look what you have done; you have surrounded yourself with lamps!"

THERE IS NO WAY OUT!

She tries to move but'.

THERE IS NO WAY OUT!

Lavanya turns to ASR and asks him to help her; she will put the oil in the remaining lamps.

THERE IS NO WAY OUT!

Lavanya leaves.

He walks slowly to the center, they are both there alone, illuminated by diya lamps, heartbeats, shallow breaths, and '..

Episode 110

Approval

No Diya can stop him, he just walks right through the lamps to her. They are gazing at each other, her savior always. He gives her the gift of his hand to help guide her through the lamp fire. She slowly and hesitantly places her hand in his; AAAHH that is where it belongs. He looks at her again almost to acknowledge that that IS where her hand belongs- in his always. He tightens his fingers around hers and they turn to walk out of that center ring. His eyes on her, they walk out of the diya rings; he doesn't even have to look where he is going. She is his light, she will guide him. She trips and he grabs her, she holds on to him tightly, the closeness just too much. She has to step back, she can't take it and they continue out of the diya rows, eyes still never leaving each other hands held fast until Lavanya disturbs them. Kushi drops his hand. Lavanya notices that her payal is missing. It must have dropped over there Lavanya says. Kushi denies it, it was lost. Lavanya wants to know why she didn't buy another one and Kushi tells her it was her mother's. That is why she didn't replace it. His eyes widen; had he forgotten he has the payal? Or is it that he has just learned it was her mother's payals and she wears them to remain close to her. Shall we go? Kushi asks Lavanya. They leave, he is thinking, you can tell, he leaves. Kushi turns to look at him and he is gone.

In his room he is holding at arm's length a piece of silver jewelry, a payal, one that belongs to Kushi. He remembers the night he found it when it came off her ankle at poolside, they had words that night.

"Chote!" Anjali calls. He turns around and places the payal possessively in his trouser pocket. Anjali comes in all smiles and says that Nani wants to tell him something. Nani begins to tell him that today after what Ms. Kashyap has done'"Oh God, Nani, now what happened?"He asks. She continues that she can't believe she is going to say this but after the way Lavanya spoke to her friends and maintained the dignity of the Raizada family she wholeheartedly gives her approval of him marrying her. His eyes flash and he turns his back on them. Anjali and Nani ask what happened. He turns around and says if you think this will make him change his mind about marriage they are sorely mistaken. Nani answers him that he should think calmly and reconsider his decision.

Lavanya is so happy and gushing to Kuhsi that Nani has finally given her approval. She thanks Kushi for her help. ASR will surely marry her now. Kushi who was assisting Lavanya with her jewelry stops and has a far away look in her eyes. She seems sad, disappointed almost, of course she does, she didn't mean to fall in love with him too! It was HER job to help Lavany gain Nani's approval so SHE can marry ASR. Such a mix of emotions she is feeling. Lavanya asks her why she looks so sad and tells her this time he can't say no to her. OP asks where Di is the guests are here. Kushi tells Lavanya to go and greet the guests and she will tell Anjali.

Shyam is grumbling about Kushi and she then knocks on the door calling for Anjali. He dives onto the bed and under the covers. Kushi enters calling for Anjali and he sneezes. She realizes that it must be her husband in the bed and asks if he is okay and if she can get him anything. She walks closer, he sneezes, and just as she is about to be able to see him Anjali comes in and saves Shyam's day. What a good wife she is! She says to Kushi he must be sleeping and Kushi says he just sneezed. Anjali goes over and checks on him and like a mother she tucks him in. He has her approval and love always. Kushi says she came to get her as the guests have arrived. They leave. He opens his eyes and says he must get Kushi out of this house.

Mami is receiving guests and bragging as usual, she can be so annoying. Anjali is explaining how her husband isn't well so he is resting. The party is in full swing. Nani introduces Lavanya to someone and she appropriately folds her hands in introduction and says, Namaste. Kushi is standing when she feels the gust of wind; he is near. She looks up and there are his eyes across the room. They find each other, glued. Butterflies. Her concentration interrupted by Lavanya who pulls her hand and walks with her. Lavanya is conversing away and Kushi is distracted all she can hear or see is him from across the room.

This scene, the music is just breath taking. I wish I knew what the lyrics meant. Even without knowing my breath quickens, my heart beats rapidly and I have those butterflies. Is this what she is feeling? It feels like when I first met my husband, John.

They steal glances at each other and every once in a while Lavanya taps Kushi on the shoulder regaining her attention. Her back could be towards him but she knows he is there. She looks back over her shoulder and yes they are there, those chocolate puppy dog eyes intently gazing at her. She tries to continue her conversation but we can see her breath is quickening. Oh what he does to her just standing across a room. She strolls, he strolls; parallel to her across the room, not too far. Every once in a while during there stroll one or the other stops to greet someone but the other is not too far away keeping a watchful eye.

Anjali is introduced to Lavanya's friends. She is looking for Chote. They call him over and Kushi and Arnav are pretty uncomfortable with their attraction. He is standing in between Di and Kushi and his eyes always shoot sideways to catch a glimpse of Kushi and Kushi is doing the same. Lavanya goes around and places herself hanging on his arm. Mami comes over and says her friend's want to meet Anjali and Lavanya so they leave and so does Lavanya's friends, leaving Kuhsi and Arnav alone together. They both seem awkward and they leave in opposite directions. Yeah that should do it'NOT!

And when they separate they still look back; first one then the other. Finally he decides so he turns around and she is gone. Oh there she is, she feels him, looks up, he's coming! He walks forward she walks backward right into a waiter and he is disturbed by lavanya snapping at him asking what's the matter as she is looking around trying to see what has gotten his attention. She walks away his eyes following her as Lavanya grabs him by the arm and says let's go! Not once but twice!

She goes to poolside lighting more diyas and tells OP to tell Anjali that she is taking care of them. He comes to poolside and says, "Kushi". She is stunned and as she gets up she twists her ankle. OOF, she squeaks. He reaches out and holds her up. She tries to move and she squeals again in pain. He tells her to come and he guides her to the lounge chair. He kneels in front of her and they look deep into each others eyes, he reaches down to grab hold of her foot and she slides her foot under her sari. He looks at her and he takes her hand and places it on her knee. His eyes change become firm, reassuring her he will take care and she will do what he wants. He reaches down and takes her foot by the ankle and places it on his bent knee and he lifts her sari above her ankle. She looks at him and he looks down respectfully. He holds her heel and the other hand slides up the front of her foot to grasp it but that slow gentle sensation brings shivers to her. He looks at her and says this is going to hurt and gives one good twist. She reaches out grabbing his shoulder as she squealed in pain and he does it again the other way, as she squeals again. He looks at her and says are you alright? She looks at him releases her grasp from his shoulder and tries to remove her foot from his knee; but he doesn't let her foot go. She has a questioning look. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out her mother's payal. He has the look of a little boy who has been caught with his hand in the unsweetened cookie jar. His deep, chocolate brown, puppy dog eyes just yearning to tell her exactly how it came to him and how he held it with reverance with his personal belongings in his closet.

The quiet poolside, the ambiance of radiant twinkling fairy lights, soft flames shining from the lit diyas and the stars above are all showering their approval for this handsome hero and the damsel in distress.

There is a hadith in Islam that if a couple share the food from a same plate or drink from a same glass,love increases between them. sharing a drink from the same glass is also a sign of intimacy. Khushi didn't hesitate for a second but drank Arnav's left over juice. In this case she is the judge herself and she is the defendant as well. Khushi knows she is guilty, she gave her LG trouble. So she punished herself by the way what her Arnavji got.

When Arnav grabbed her hand and literally dragged her inside the room to show her the recording, she was already cowering, "i have a habit to walk in dream.' He is fuming,"so you were sleeping in this video!" She now confesses like a child," If a say the reason, you will laugh at me. Since last few days I've been feeling weird. Buaji also told me someone did black magic to me. when I saw you chanting beside the tree with the lemon pepper, I thought you were doing black magic on me. I didn't know that Anjaliji gave it to you." She doesn't give Arnav any chance to talk and executes her punishment. She also starts coughing now with him. This cute confession assuages Arnav. A stone will also melt by this childlike innocent girl . Arnav is completely stupefied and can't say anything more to this crazy girl. She gives him the kadha to drink, "drink it. You will feel better. ' She is about to spill it while keeping it on the table. she gets tremulous in fear again. While she was leaving the room, she almost bumps on the door. Arnav tensely lifts his hand to protect her, as if he wants to say, "careful". aww our sexy boy loves his crazy girl shooo much!

Anjali gives La her diwali gift and tells her that the color of saree inside is chote's favorite. La looks excited. Khushi comes to tell anjali that she gave the kadha to Arnav and she wants to leave now. Anjali gives her diwali gifts. but khushi is hesitating to accept it, as she didn't get any gift for her. La also insists khushi to take it as a token of gift. when Khushi still doesn't want to take it Anjali mocks her, 'I will not request but order like chote, take it." When she mentioned chote how cum she refuses. Anjali tells her she did the pooja with the DM statue for her family's well being. Anjali does a little mischief with her. "let's talk about give and take now. you have to bring sweets for us. plz do come tomorrow." Khushi takes the gifts but returns the payal, she tells anjali that she only wears the anklet what her mom gave it to her. this is the last nishani(belonging) of her mother, so when she wears it she feels her mom with her. Anjali seems very touched with her comment.

pause: The BD in the scene spoiled the mood. that big headed curly hair BD is so irritating to watch. I know it's not possible to do scenes with the original cast in every single scene, specially when they have to do back to back shoot for every episodes every day. but at least they should take someone who resembles the original actor, actress.

I just can't bear the devil Shyam's insolence. The evil guy tells Sashiji that the raizada family in no other but his in laws. He wishes to be with his wife's on the diwali day. So he wants Khushi to stay at home on the day. He tortures the poor soul even more by saying that he loves Khushi, he just married Anjali for money. he calls khushi to come early, as he wants to see her before leaving. Hearing this babuji gets perturbed, he tries to clutch his fist in anger. But the devil holds his hand with strong grip and hurts him. what a demon he is that is not sparing a bed ridden man!😡

Khushi reaches home still coughing. Buaji seems upset. she calls her and tries to blackmail her emotionally, "hey Sanka devi what gift you want to give your dad in this diwali." she is indirectly telling her to agree for the marriage. (pause: cum on buaji, a young girl, who is the youngest of the family working day night to earn for all of you guys, you are asking gift from her!. you suppose to give her gift. i know buaji didn't ask for any money related gift, but still she can't weak her her emotionally like this. Woman like buaji is a shame for our society) While buaji was talking about gifts, the nasty Shyam brings a gift for Sashiji. The gift is a wheel chair. This man knows when to strike the iron when it is hot. He is getting insidious to oblige the poor family in every possible way. he bids bye to the family, wishes them for Diwali and gives the excuse that he is leaving cause he doesn't want to embarrass the family with his presence to their relatives. The swindler knows very well how to weaken the naive family.

Buaji is making Khushi agree for marriage. She is trying to weaken her emotionally, " Only you can bring happiness in this house. 10 years back my brother did a good deed by bringing an orphan little girl in his home. Now he has become disabled and lying on the bed, unable to walk and speak. Don't you think you should have some duty to this man who loves you most in this world." Khushi is feeling terribly guilty. Buaji resumes, "Today Shyam had to bear our neighbor's humiliation. Let's forget it, but at least you should think of the man who has become the father of that orphan." she requests her to rethink about the marriage and give her decision by tomorrow evening. Buaji is literally trying to mortify her. She puts Khushi in dilemma.

Arnav is still coughing. when he picks the glass of the kadha he recollects the the scene how Khushi drank his left over juice and how she confessed her guilt. Khushi also is thinking of her arnavji. Payal comes to increase her moral support. she knows her baby sis is anxious, " go along with your heart. I always was with you and will support you anyway." She assures her by touching her shoulder. What a sweet gesture from a perfect big sis! 👍🏼 I really like Payal's character.

Next morning, Khushi is drawing a trail of foot step on their patio towards the door of the house. Haapiji sees this and asks her what is it! she enthusiastically narrates him that it's the path made for God Laxmi. When she will come she can easily have the access to get inside the house."

pause: I don't know why this scene made me emotional. Those poor families who continuously struggles for their livelihood, eagerly wait for Laxmi, the God of wealth enters their house with exuberance. Who knows the importance of God laxmi better than that young girl, who has been struggling hard to meet her family's need.

La comes to Anjali wearing a blue saree. she is confused why the saree is not red as Anjali said. Anjali thinks the saree must exchanged with khushi. She aplogises to her. Where in GH Khushi gets delectable to see the beautiful red saree what Anjali gave her.

Back to RM La is decorating the dia on the floor. Anjlai tells her to get Khushi's dia to add there. Khushi is not here, but Mami doesn't forget to taunt her. The real mud cake's taste is still in her tongue I guess!😆 When La goes to get the dias, our sexy boy comes to drive us crazy with his sophisticated look. La smiles sweetly at him. He also gestures nicely, but looks lost, may be missing the crazy girl. When La gets the dias on a tray, a dia was about to fall, but Arnav catches it instantly. Hmm, Mr, sexy, Khushi's dia is also precious like her! how he tenderly touched the dia, it seemed he wants to feel her touch there. uff what a divine love! The poolside scene reverberates in his mind, when Khsuhi told him she needs dirt to make dia. He remembers how gently he cared her when the dirt went into her eyes. Our sexy boy is always preoccupied with khushi's thought.

Uff our sexy boy is looking hot, dashing, handsome, droolicious, yummilicious, cool, irresistibly sexy and so much more. I'm speech less to see this male beauty. He looked best in that suit with that olive shirt on the diwali night and of course in short hair. Cynthia was telling his shirt matches with La. but Cynthi dear I think his shirt is olive not blue. may be i'm wrong.

can't wait to see our ethereal beauty with her prince charming.

Doe sn't Anjali stealthily knows that they will keep each other's word. and hence keeps sending Khushi if needs something done by Chote and vice versa! Wonder how this lady didn't keep that stance when they got married. May be matter of discussion for that time.

Agree, but don't worry it is not meant to be taken in absolute literal sense. Khushi as we know is very traditional and will do EVERYTHING that is in the books so, she is doing it ritualistically. Yes she does need money right now and is toiling day and night but she most proudly enough she is pragmatic and innovative to find ways to earn. Very resourceful girl. It was she who wanted to start Mithai business that led her to RM for Anjali's anniversary.. and her ultimate footing at RM as La' trainer. So all she is asking Goddess Laxmi is blessing than literal money perhaps!

Back to RM La is decorating the dia on the floor. Anjlai tells her to get Khushi's dia to add there. Khushi is not here, but Mami doesn't forget to taunt her.
