First off, This post isn't to bash Niti. I've followed most of her work and it is all opinion based. My Opinion. Not claiming it as a fact.

I am not a member of this forum but I watched KY2 (both seasons) quite a few times. Because of KY2, I started following Parth and Niti who were playing the titular roles of Manik and Nandini respectively. Parth came back with Kasautii and he is definitely a better actor than Niti so he is actually praised for his portrayal even though I stopped watching that show for good reasons. ()
Niti on the other hand was never a great actress (IN MY OPINION). She was good as Nandini as it was a character similar to herself I guess and well written for the most part but seriously, I watched her in Ghulam for a few episodes and now Ishqbaaz. She tries to act all innocent and cute but somehow it comes off as irritating and childish. And is it just me or she shakes her hands around alot?! Not to mention the character of Mannat is extra annoying to watch. Niti isn't a great actress but she is a directors and writers actor I believe. She can play a character decently if the character is written and directed well. But I guess I'm asking for too much..Back to watching Dil Ho Toh Hai Season 2. Indian Television isn't my cuppa tea anymore I guess.

You are right. Niti moves her hands a lot and she needs to stop overplaying the cute innocent act. BUT I don't blame her totally. If the script is cat poop and you have a lead opposite you who appears disinterested and scenes are copy pasted from an original where the bar has been set high,it's difficult to carve out your niche. There will always be a comparison.

I respect your opinion . I have also followed Niti from Ky2 days. She played Nandini very well . Mannat as Niti said is an overbubbly character and so she might be appearing as overdoing things but I personally feel she is enacting what is written on paper . Its her character which demands it. Her comic timing is really good and her diction has improved.
Also, I feel its unfair to compare two different actors in different shows playing two different characters. Both of them have their respective strengths and weaknessess.

I think she is stuck in bubblyness stereotype and that lead to deterioration of character than acting..
Her present features are also more suited to fresh out of college girl than someone ready for marriage kind of stuff (it happens with film industry..as well..can anyone imagine Jacqueline Fernandes or Katrina Kaif doing a Chawl based or village Belle roles which Deepika Padukone or Madhuri dixit can pull of)...yes there is a huge difference of acting skills but sometimes physical features do play a part..

And then based on the update they are exploiting the innocence bubblyness baby like crying to a core..thus leading to less quality in acting..

Regarding actors competence..soemtimes its not 100% subjective and people can see the difference in acting quality between two actors.well ranbir Kapoor and Tushar Kapoor has different level of competence..so one can't say that acting cant be judged

I think both Parth and Niti are the same level of average actors still milking their legacy as Manik and Nandini😆

Parth still has a lot of Manik hangover in his acting and his Anurag is underwhelming to say the least.

Neither of them is much above the other IMO. All they could ever play well in their lives was Manik and Nandini😆

I would say three words for her. She was good in KYY, worse in Ghulaam and the same in IB.

I think it's very difficult for the viewers to move on once they are connected and lived with particular character for more than a year.. people are more connected with Manik, Dr Sonakshi, Randhir, Arnav, Nandini, shivaay and many iconic characters played by many actors.. it's very difficult for them to break their own records. It's just my opinion. I am not saying they can't break but it's very difficult.

She was good in KYY. I haven't watched Ghulam so can't really comment on that. Like someone pointed out, i'd like to blame the script too. None of the characters are finely carved. They are just changing the flow like the wind. NM being a great actor is not able to live upto shivaansh, I really don't blame Niti here too. They themselves don't know how the character is supposed to behave. How would the actor enact something that no one is really sure about? She is not as great as Surbhi. Surbhi is in a different league altogether, none like her. Niti is okay though, given the circumstances.

True. Parth isn't some amazing actor either but I feel like he has certain learnt nuances (very Manik-like) which he adds to his character which usually looks 'pleasing' (for a lack of a better word). He basically plays different variations of Manik IMO. Lol😆 Which is his "comfort-zone". He 'Manik-ized' his current character too.

Niti however tends to overact. She uses her hands and shakes them way too much. Notice her hands in any scene. She can hardly get past a scene without using them. Annoys me. Even as Nandini, she had her shortcomings. I just think Parth and Niti worked well TOGETHER as they covered each others flaws as a unit. Separately, their flaws are glaring. It also doesn't help when the character is written so choppy. I'm guessing this was a last-minute thing as the previous actress wasn't accepted. And it shows how last-minute this was
