Filmmaker Rohit Shetty marked his birthday with a major announcement for fans of the popular comedy franchise Golmaal: Fun Unlimited. The team confirmed that the next instalment, Golmaal 5, is officially in the works. The film will bring back familiar faces from the series and introduce a new addition to the group. Actor Akshay Kumar will join the ensemble this time, adding a fresh dynamic to the long running comedy series.
The announcement was shared through a video posted on Instagram. In the clip, actors Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu and Tusshar Kapoor are seen celebrating the return of Sharman Joshi to the franchise. The actors appear relaxed and playful as they gather together, hinting at the reunion of the well known gang that has been central to the films for years.
The real twist arrives towards the end of the video. Akshay Kumar makes an entry wearing a bald look along with a black kurta pyjama and dark sunglasses. His appearance creates a moment of surprise in the clip as he walks in and greets Ajay Devgn with a series of warm hugs. The video quickly moves from casual celebration to a formal announcement that the team will reunite once again for another instalment.

Excited to be joining this crazy family of Golmaal 5! Let the chaos begin.”
The Golmaal series has remained one of the most recognised comedy franchises in Hindi cinema. Directed by Rohit Shetty, the first film released in 2006 and introduced a group of friends caught in increasingly absurd situations. The combination of slapstick comedy, exaggerated action and recurring jokes helped the film gain strong popularity among audiences.
Over the years, the story expanded with sequels including Golmaal Returns in 2008, Golmaal 3 in 2010 and Golmaal Again in 2017. Each instalment continued to build on the same characters while adding new twists and chaotic situations.
With Golmaal 5 now confirmed and Akshay Kumar joining the cast, the makers appear set to continue the long running comic universe with another large ensemble story.
