Is this Anika really Khidkitod?

Since the first Shivika confrontation has happened today, I think it's fair game to give an estimation on how much this claim of "Khidkitod" Anika still being there holds.

What is the meaning of Khidkitod? From what I understood in this 2 year old journey of watching Anika be Khidkitod was that being Khidkitod first and foremost includes SPUNK...in spades...the word itself has such a spunky sound to it, then how can the trait not include dher saara spunk? Which obviously original Anika had in large amounts.

This current Anika at the most can be FIRM with someone...can show a little backbone briefly...that does NOT equate to SPUNK...from ANY angle...today she was firm with the doctor...talked back briefly to Shivaay...but that does not REMOTELY make her Khidkitod...there is no spunk in her door door tak.

So can Harneet just do away with the FACADE of claiming that this is Khidkitod Anika and just ADMIT that the most this Anika can be is FIRM...or jhaado some typical self righteous FL wala gyaan...she ain't gonna amount to anything more than that...would help in setting expectations correctly for this redux. Thanks😆

For sure this Anika is not Khidakitoad... this Anika is bicharisi... majboor... halatoki mariii... but still sometimes she is Firm and yess someone who loves to speak SACH... but still hides the SACH from her own sister...

today's Mom references from both Shivay and Anika were out of place and illogical...😕

I haven't watched today's episode yet but after reading the spoilers, I was a little unhappy with how Anika's character is not being given any sparkle. I was hoping after Shivaay and Anika meet, their will be some change in this Anika. Hopefully Shivaay will be able to bring out some colour in Anika's interactions. Its really heart breaking to see Anika so silent in her fights.

LOL better to not expect any sparkle...otherwise disappointment hi milega...there is no change in this Anika...and I don't expect there to be much in the coming days either...this is the scope of her character in this redux...she got a total of ONE line retort back to Shivaay...rest of the time she was in tears or shock over his harkatein😆...

But this "delicate" version of Khidkitod Anika may appeal to TRP aunties more...hard to differentiate her from any other FL on TV right now...😆

This is Harneet's version of "Khidkitod"...I guess AU mein Khidkitod ka meaning bhi badal gaya...haha sirf bolne se khidkitod nahin ho jaata when your actions don't live up to it.

^^^Oh my gawd, when it comes to characterization wrt this redux...the CRINGE is real...I haven't seen a single scene in its entirety of this new "khidkitod" Anika be it with her siblings (people say awwdorable, I say screechy as eff...bechara Sahil kahan phans gaya) and/or alone while moping around her thela (ok the 'DHOSA/DOHSA' 🤔scene gave me mild entertainment coz the BG score of a typical dukhiyari FL made me giggle).

The highlight of pre-redux Anika's character sketch was her unpredictability...pataa nahin next minute uske munh se kya reaction ya dialogue nikle...this one seems to be like the copy/paste version of Indian tvs FL who is economically deficient, regularly injured, perpetually teary eyed but always adorned with water-proof mascara/eye liner and, is adept in the nervous one-step-forward-two-steps-backward tango with the ML.

Even today's episode's updates were such a phuski for me...it had nothing memorable in it...read the supposed repartee which I found to be utterly illogical...like be sir-pair ka gussa and baatein...and then saw the caps of that samajik atyachar over the poor abla, her absolute antithesis Gundi behen, and their handicapped brother. As i eventually watched the epi, I rolled my eyes almost to the back of my head and ended up forwarding half the episode. Not so optimistic about future epis also what with the news of the entry of unappetizing villains in the show carrying the whiff of a stale story.😕

Anyhoodle...commendable that the show got to journey for 2 whole years...cheers to that if nothing else...😊

This AU Anika is cliched TRP soap type lead. Khidkitod was the earlier Anika. She was unique. This one is run of the mill. This not to take away from SC's acting which has been the great but the way this AU character has been written. In trying to make her different everything that made her special seems to have been stripped off.

To be honest I have a lot of mixed feelings about this one. Or more accurately mood swings. I liked the first episode of the Redux because it intrigued me. I absolutely loved the Friday and Monday episodes but the rest have been disappointing. And I have some trepidation about what might be coming our way because so far it's beginning to look like very typical stuff with typical conflicts in typical story with leads with an angsty past. NKK was unique as a conflict in that respect. I am hoping that HS surprises me but today I am in a mood where I am not counting on it.

Absolutely...big congrats to the show for completing two years...it's no mean feat😊...especially in an atmosphere where shows hardly last 3-4 months in many cases.

As for the rest...there are certain basic cliches in every Gul show...the reason the original Shivika worked was because they were takkar ke in every sense of the word...if one fired a salvo, the other returned it with interest. Anika was a unique combination of spitfire innocence that instantly connected with me.

To watch this mega cliched version of Anika is painful to say the least...and the writer trying to justify her "kuch naya" argument by showing token scenes of an Anika just being a bit firm with ppl doesn't cut it with me...this is not Khidkitod Anika and Harneet needs to stop pitching it as such.

This is a cliched character with a cliched sob story background...and there is an equally cliched background story for Shivaay...this time they are both just expected to connect over some cliched "dard" from the sound of it...and if today's half baked writing for the hospital scene is any indication, HS isn't even bothering to push herself to write beyond cliches...like she wrote this half asleep...

The story is anyways cliched...the least they can do is write the interactions better...today was a fail. If they can't pick things up with better written interactions for Shivika in the coming days and some improvements in Anika's character, not sure how this is expected to sustain.

+1...today was frankly a big test for them that they failed...this was the first VERBAL interaction b/w Shivika...they already had a BIG history to live up to with the very first Shivika fight in the original version and all they did was stuff this scene with CLICHES galore...wohi standard ML walking forward, FL backing up all nervously, wohi standard punching some glass scene...are we sitting here to now just watch these cliches on Shivika in the name of forced angst? lol

The irony is that they DO have an inbuilt premise for angst...Shivika feeling hollow but still curiously drawn to each other...reducing them to a SUPER cliched fight today was very anti-climactic. It's not that I'm against angst...but I'm deffo against poorly written and half-baked angst.

NKK was the only strong concept this show ever had...lol ok chalo maan liya they can't bring it back again...but try and do better than this current half-baked set of conflicts too...or this ain't gonna work.

@AY: even with the cliched angsty past etc I was still expecting better because IB has been known to take standard soap tropes and turn them around. That's what made them different. So I guess I was expecting that even with the standard template the treatment would be different. But I was disappointed. I guess it's time to reset expectations before the disappointment becomes to much. Shivika have set the bar so high that I am struggling with dealing with cliched stuff.
