Honestly, I want to give this reboot a fair chance, but this new Anika's life is tiresome. I'm bored with all the calamities in her life. She has to take care of her family, but when didn't she have a family relying on her? Why did the writers need to make her this miserable? Original Anika had a rough childhood and was abused, but because of the OTT dramatics from the writing I find myself laughing at the scenes instead of feeling bad for the characters. I can think of a million ways to get Anika (gauri, sahil, and chachi) in OM and none of them involving public humiliation from heartless landlady in the rain lol.
If pain is supposed to "connect" them this time around why is it one-sided? Why couldn't Anika have an issue with physical intimacy? Why is she crying on the road in the rain in every episode? You can show resilience without beating down the character every episode. This is bad writing 😆 I was expecting a calmer cool-headed Anika that had her priorities straight and wasn't invested in Shivaay(or his family), but from the segments she is already having feels being in her old room lol. This feels like a angsty teen fanfic with the dark hero and that special girl that heals his pain 😆 She needs to take a minute and think about the story as whole because it's clearly lacking substance.Kudos to NM and SC for switching gears so quickly. It does feel like they are different people now. It's shame the writing is cliche and predictable.
