My two cents on Billu's NKK dialogues

Yes, there is already plenty of discussion going on on this topic, so I'm just adding my two cents herešŸ˜†

It seems that everyone's REALLY fixating on that "mother of my children" dialogue that Shivaay spoke in the DBO scene with Om today.

Looking at this objectively, just in the context of that scene, it fits with his NKK ideology...in this case, the intent was to show that he is thinking of the future of his lineage. Shivaay views all this NKK stuff on a very (almost coldly) practical level...so when he's saying it in that moment, I don't think he's viewing it from the prism of what he feels for Anika...all he's thinking about is the practicalities of what their union would mean...since he is so fixated on everything being about bloodlines, he talks in those terms...how this would impact his bloodline in terms of his offspring.

Many people think exactly like this in our society...after all, what else is arranged marriage about? LOL people are matching bloodlines, castes, income levels...and what is that decision ultimately for? For a family that is expected to be created out of that union...the children.

Yes, it all sounds cold-blooded but that is the harsh reality...that is what Shivaay's character is meant to depict even though it's all otherwise wrapped up in a romantic soap...lol

Ofcourse it's unfair to Anika and ideally she should walk away if these are his terms...he has a lot of reconciling to do with a belief he's held for so long so that is his journey to cover.

But I'm very skeptical that anything will be dealt with in a sane manner by the writers...lol especially seeing the reactions from the fandom over this one line regarding him not being able to see the mother of his children in Anika...ofcourse it's hypocritical of Shivaay to say this given how far he's come with Anika but it's still not out of character...this is all still there inside him...he has that battle inside him b/w his beliefs and the fact that he can't live without Anika.

So ideally, that struggle should be a journey over the course of this story...an ideological clash between these two, based on their own convictions. Let's see if the show gets back on that track post whatever this latest shaadi tamasha is.

I've posted several short statements on this but I will say one thing - this statement of I cant imagine her as the mother of my children, has me wishing for the rapldly fast end of this Shitia weddingc rap, exposure and then detailed exploring and challenging of the NKK storyline and friction between Shivaay and Anika.

šŸ‘šŸ¼ Billu has been brought up on the NKK ideology and considers himself the "wall" that keeps the Oberoi NKK intact.

The important take away from that Om-Shiv convo is actually the fact that he is contemplating how Annika would fit into this reality and hence the dialog (as against earlier where he would never have even thought of it as a possibility)

Agree though, can we get Tia married off already and move on with the Shivika story!

I also don't get the big deal. They were just introducing Shivaay's character in DBO. NKK is his thing, so he was made to say it. That's it.

And yea the mother comment did really hurt me, too. Though I'm choosing to ignore it all because that scene was so incredibly random. It's just lazy writing.

LOL I won't say the "mother of my children" comment was random. On the contrary, it totally flowed with what he was talking about...He said he can't see a future for him and Anika and a future obviously entails children.

NKK is all about bloodlines, keeping the family name and prestige going...obviously the mother of his children thought plays into that...he has not yet reached the stage where he can fully overthrow NKK for Anika...he's still struggling with that.

I can see it's tough for the romantics in this fandom to digestšŸ˜†...but what he spoke today was totally in character, even if it was in the AU of DBO...lol

I think shivay was in character in that scene, we were aware of the fact that nkk is the basic conflict n plot for shivika, I love shivay because he is the only character in show which has not changed that much for trp , but now it's start of nkk journey, iam also eager to know how anika will react to this journey, as she has already accepted she loves him , so she will just wait for him to forget his nkk until he accepts her , n until then take the insult from everyone, or can I expect my old tadibaaz self respecting anika returns, I am looking for someone who can explain me current pov of anika, as I am unable to understand n connect to her after wedding episodešŸ˜†
PS: thanks for the post

AY,
We all know and accept that NKK is what defines Shivaay. His NKK is not the issue. Nor the fact that he cannot see a future with Annika .. Are, even Annika cannot see a future with him. .That is one of the reasons for KKT birth. She is giving him enough reasons to end their marriage.

I am not pissed off at his "Cannot See Annika as mother of my children" dialogue either ..The fact that he said this, shows that he is thinking of his marriage to Annika and a possibility of a "FUTURE" with her . A future where there will be children. Right now he cannot accept the fact that his wife, mother of his children will be some one who is a nobody.. But Annika will always be a nobody..no fault of her but that is the FACT..
Shivaay today "STATED" once again that, nkk is important to him, it is what he is and he will never change. The relationship he has with Annika is a BENAAM one and it will be continued like that (to be continued) ..

In all this conversation, Shivaay did not at any point gave us reason to believe that he may change his mind, or, there is even a remote chance of him accepting Annika

One thing that clearly came through was , he is not going to let her go. No matter what!

Here is what is upsetting me..

When he is very clear that there is no future , why play farak farak? Why give the girl hopes for a future together? Why chase her down, just to throw the NKK at her face?

She is willing to let go of this relationship. She is willing to give him his freedom back.. Why hold her back, especially when u know u will never accept her and will have no future with her ?

Why take away the chance of a future from Annika?
Annika will never be good enough for him. What more can she do to make him overcome his NKK? And why should she?

Annika (KKT) was very upset that she could not give him children. Agree, may be this was all a play act by Annika but still , Shivaay cannot take away the Khushi of motherhood from her .. May be it is not imp to him, if he never has children, but what about her?

SSO is being very cruel. He is once again deciding for her.. Being selfish. He is just playing with her emotions.. SAD!!!

I haven't said that it wasn't in character. I've been saying all over the forum that NKK still matters to shivaay but right now in IB land, they are showing something different.

So I guess, what I meant to say was the reason why the NKK rant seems so out of place to many people is because it's an introduction to what Shivaay's character is in general. In IB, it will be adressed in the future, for sure and itll be central when Anika's BG is revealed. Which is why Shivaay RIGHT NOW in IB and Shivaay RIGHT NOW in DBO seem to be disjointed to some people.

Trust me, I have no romantic notions of who Shivaay is. I'm well aware of the fact that he's no saint

Great post AY, and I totally agree with you. I didn't take that mother to the children line negatively. It fits his NKK belief, but you actually made more sense of it now. It is a reflection of the society and how much importance is placed on this. šŸ‘šŸ¼

The main crux of the Shivaay Annika story is this NKK and his struggle with it. I was glad we got some conversation on it, even though it was on DBO.
