I really enjoying reading your posts. Its exactly how I feel and want the story to go.
To be honest, he really needs to be rejected. Its only natural that she have a limit to all of his nonsense. The FLs are always weak and forgiving, but Anika is slightly different. She is kind, but not stupid and very proud. All her genuine effort and kind deeds being turned into" your scheming to land yourself a rich husband" might be that limit. He will try to shift the blame onto her because he needs someone to take the blame for his feelings and making him want to reevaluate his views.
I noticed she doesn't really try to correct him about his prejudices. She is knows he is a lost clause, but also because I don't think she cares. She isn't invested in him to point out his flaws and help him become a better person. She mocks his behavior, but she doesn't waste her time trying to correct his behavior. Tia hasn't done anything bad other than cheating on him so far. His backward thinking is all his, his misunderstanding of her words is all his, his pent-up feelings is all his, and his anger issues are all his.
You're right Tia doesn't have to do anything, he'll ruin his own happiness himself 😆
He has been projecting his feelings onto her for awhile now. Its obvious he has been thinking about their relationship and after not being able to find a solution he made his choice when he proposed to Tia. Right now, he may not be happy, but he is content with his decision. If it turns out Tia is in fact cheating on him and Anika suspicions that he tossed away were true then its will be a different story. He will be angry at himself, but he will be angrier at her. It would be even better and make the story more interesting if she gets hurt after he turns on her for Tia.
Right now, it will be impossible at this point for either of them to concede so we could at least enjoy some fireworks 😆
The less dramatic angle for the promo is that he won't resort to insulting her, but he won't believe her or imply she has feelings for him. As a result, she may she walk away from the situation then she will get hurt. By then, Tia's truth is revealed and her connection to her accident will also be revealed(he will feel guilty). Guilt for not believing her and feeling responsible for causing her harm. That means he is trying to make amends, not confessing in the promo. However, Anika closed the chapter in her life and moved on. It's too soon for him to admit his feelings let alone act on them.
I really hope its plays out like your post suggests.
Thanks for your comment, as always, its insightful and made me think of something I hadn't considered before. In this case, lets consider Anika. I think we can all agree she is not on Shivaay's level when it comes to who is in love. He has put up barrier after barrier for her, while on his side its been a pretty straight shot from hostile yet respected enemy to gobar throwing oddball to pity shes from the wrong side of the tracts through to friend/savior/tapori dance partner and now I wish she was mine, oh god make the pain stop. He is feeling all the feels, she is warily walking along the path, careful of her footing.
I think she wants him AS he is, she has absolutely no problems with his nature other than the khoon khandaan thing. That will have to change, of course, but every time she throws things like Dev and herself in his face, its because she is trying to give him exceptions to his rule, trying to make him see reason. And other than that--they are basically twins. She sees things very much like he does, they have the exact dedication to family, both are strong walls who protect others (notice his small smile when she was protecting Om yesterday) and she likes who he is with his family. What has to change is his perspective--but she is just fine with the man otherwise-- now that, in most ways, she IS ALSO his family.
But I ask you--- doesn't she expect something from him already? That he take a stand, he explore this thing between them, or at least, not run off and hide behind Tia just when its getting interesting? I think she does, its unspoken in the way she came directly to him to ask--what is this between US? She is not ignoring her feelings, she has JUST started having them.
But she wants him to be brave, have the courage to examine the connection -- Why else is she mad, then, with having to plan his stupid wedding, hurt, teary eyed, petulantly demanding the wedding date from him? But WHY does she expect stuff, from him, anyway???
The problem is--he has not actually given her all that much, at the end of the day, in terms of encouragement. Lets devils advocate it-- Two drunk flirtations, one "tum cute ho," one question, --"whats going on between us? do you know??" That is it. Shivaay apologized and walked back on one comment, agreed never to mention the other. Done.
Notice--every "Shivaay likes Anika" moment, being caught and exposed to OmRu's constant teasing, or him dreaming and waking up screaming her name, are private--not one happened in front of her, until yesterday's "what will happen to me if something happens to you?" And while he didnt address this issue this time, previously he told her why he said this, remember? he's answered exactly this question by following it up with "who will deal with my wedding stuff if you are injured?"
So other than in private to his brothers, Shivaay hasnt revealed all that much of how far gone he is to HER. Shivaay has grounds, in a way, of accusing Anika of building this up into a bigger thing in her head, literally dreaming up castles in the air with a prince and a wedding ring.
Look at his defence-- being just a normal male attracted to a hot girl explains the burning looks, caring for a friend's health explains the Karvachauth and even the Sauna, and gratefulness for a woman who has literally rescued every last family member from death, AND him from jail, can excuse the rest-- including how he listens to her advice, drives her home and shows her warmth.
Anika could very well start believing she's imagined the whole thing, or, even worse, hate him for being too big a coward to face his feelings, decide a man like this is not worth it, and leave. No showdown required--just pure yellow bellied nonsense from Shivaay, explaining to her how she has let her girly dreaming overtake reality.
