In Afternoon at Ayodhya -
Ram was quite sure that Urmila will bring back Lakshman safe home after making him relax and feel good but still deep down in his heart , he was worried for both Lakshman and Urmila .
He was roaming in his room while every member of the family were seeing him bit tensed .
Finally the most little daughter in law Shruthkirti and a darling like sister of Ram came in front of him.
"Ram bhaiya , don't worry , everything will be fine , Lakshman bhaiya and Urmila didi will come back", said Shruthkirti with a gentle smile on her face.
"Urmila didi can make anyone smile brightly , she can make someone feel good very easily , Lakshman Bhaiya 's anger will cool down very easily in front of Urmila didi", continued Shruthkirti.
Her words had a soothing effect that made everyone feel good and calm including Ram himself.
"My little sister ShruthKirti , your words have such a soothing effect on us , u made me feel calm", said Ram putting his hand on her head as a blessing to her.
"I am glad that I am successful in making you feel good", said Shruthkirti shyly.
Ram smiled at her innocence yet matured look.
This 14 years of exile had changed everything. Every Mithila sister behaviour were changed during this time .
Sita was like a mother figure to her little sisters , kind , caring , obedient and everything that a ideal lady should possess , she find a deep attachment in nature because she was a daughter of earth , she was called Bhoomija , she was so pure that even flames weren't able to touch her when she gave her agnipariksha , she happily accepted second exile and supported Ram whenever possible throughout her life .
Mandavi was always a matured women and a women with keen interest of painting from beginning but after exile , not only she became more matured , a more talented painter but she also became a perfect lady of guidance. She was a strong support for Bharat when he came to know about Ram's exile from her .
Urmila was always a cheerful , naughty , carefree girl and had a keen interest of swordfighting from beginning but after marriage with Lakshman , she became responsible , matured but never lost her bubbly nature and naughtiness which Lakshman would love to see in her and after exile , people respected and admired her as a lady with a high level of patience and a lady who took her husband Lakshman's sleep for 14 long years .
Shruthkirti , a darling of every one in Mithila and in Ayodhya became a supportive figure during exile for her mother in laws , her elder sister Mandavi and most importantly Shatrughan , the little innocent lady who showed a great intelligence during exile , a strong lady who never let her family break down due to the sudden sad events, she had a keen interest in poetry.
Ram suddenly realised something very important thing.
"Today is Shatrughan's birthday too", Ram looked at Shatrughan and smiled brightly.
"Today is double celebration for us after so long time", Ram smiled putting his hand on Shatrughan's shoulder.
Everyone exhanged looks happily and everyone were excited to see this moment after so many days.
"No , Bhaiya , not double celebration", said Shatrughan sadly.
"What Shatrughan ? Why ?", asked Ram worriedly.
"Ram Bhaiya , as you know , I have never enjoyed my birthday from the time , Lakshman bhaiya has stopped celebrating his birthday", said Shatrughan.
"Though Bharat Bhaiya , you and mothers gave me gifts and load of blessings but I never enjoyed it without Lakshman bhaiya".
Ram looked at him sadly.
"It's never looked like a birthday celebration for me as I accepted everything because if I would have not accepted it or refused it , Lakshman bhaiya would got more upset seeing this and I didn't wanted to happen this in any way , I have seen a calm and happy smile on his face when you all gave me gifts , I didn't wanted to be the reason of his sadness in any cost", continued Shatrughan.
"I will only celebrate and enjoy my birthday when Lakshman bhaiya will celebrate his each happiness, whether it's birthday or any occasion and I request you Bhaiya to not remind him anything about me , I want him to come himself and say to me that I will celebrate my each happiness from now , then I will be happiest", a tear slipped from corner of Shatrughan's eyes.
Everyone had tears rolling down his cheeks including Ram hearing those words from Shatrughan.
Everyone were amazed with Shatrughan , a prince with equal level of maturity and naughtiness which he displayed at right and required time.
Ram hugged Shatrughan and caressed his hairs , "Today , your wish will be fullfilled for sure , Trust in God , your Lakshman bhaiya will come to you saying that he will celebrate his each happiness , I promise you that I will not remind Lakshman about you anything , I am blessed to have a brothers like you all ".
It was night till the time Lakshman - Urmila reached Ayodhya .
Ram and everyone were very worried now for Lakshman and Urmila.
"Where is Lakshman ?" , worried Ram roaming here and there very tensedly.
"Urmila has also not come till yet with Lakshman . Where are they ?" , worried Mandavi.
"I am feeling restless now ", said Ram worriedly.
Shatrughan was feeling that whatever was happening was due to him , he closed his eyes , prayed to God to sent his Lakshman bhaiya and Urmila bhabhi safely to home.
"Don't worry Ram , they will come", said Sumitra assuring him .
"Yes , Ram bhaiya , they will come , u don't take tension , please", pleaded Bharat holding him.
"How Bharat ? ...How ? Lakshman went angrily from palace and whenever he is angry , he does something wrong to himself sometimes , I fear that if...", worried Ram while a tear ran down from his cheeks.
"Ram , think good , they will come", exclaimed Kaushalya.
"Yes Ram bhaiya , they will come", said Shruthkirti.
Shatrughan spoke up .
"Bhaiya , please think positive, nothing will happen to my Lakshman bhaiya and they will be here very soon", said Shatrughan himself worried to core.
Hanuman came inside palace after bringing sons of Bharat and Shatrughan from Mithila as they wanted to go to meet Nanashri Maharaj Janak for a day and Ram had said him to bring them through air due to the special day . Janak was invited Ayodhya in midnight by Hanuman.
The kids hugged their father happily and took blessing from Ram , everyone smiled in the serious situation to avoid suspicion by kids.
Mandavi and Shruthkirti took them to their room and made them sleep as they have to wake up at midnight whereas Angad and Chandraketu were very worried about their Ma and Pa , looking outside through the room's window again and again , mothers gone in Lakshman's room to make them calm and sleep.
After making the kids sleep , they all came back to Ram's room.
Seeing his Prabhu so tensed about Lakshman and Urmila , Hanuman asked Ram that can he go to search for Lakshman bhaiya and Urmila ?
"Go Hanuman and bring them fast " , ordered Ram worriedly putting his hands on Hanuman's shoulders.
But as soon as Hanuman turned to go , his face lit up in extreme delight.
"Lakshman bhaiya !!! Didi Urmila !!! " , exclaimed Hanuman smiling.
Ram hurriedly turned hearing this to found Lakshman coming with Urmila supporting him.
Urmila brought Lakshman through the way so that they could directly enter Ram's room.
"Lakshman", said Ram smiling through tears.
Everyone face lit up in immense joy seeing them but the one was more happy than anyone else , he was shatrughan , he was forming words , what will he say to his Lakshman bhaiya , how his bhaiya will react on him , he was excited plus happy but somewhere he was feeling guilty too.
Ram ran towards Lakshman and hugged him while Urmila smiled.
"Where have you gone , do you know , how much I was worried for you", said Ram holding him but tears were continously flowing from his lotus' eyes.
"Bhaiya !!!", said Lakshman wiping his brother's tears lovingly.
"Why so much worry for me , Bhaiya ?", asked Lakshman smiling but tears slipped from the corner of his eyes too.
"Don't you know , because I love you more than anything", said Ram caressing his laal's cheeks.
"Bhaiya , I too love you more than anything", said Lakshman smiling.
Suddenly he felt a slight pain in his foot due to so much walking and standing from long.
Ram understood Lakshman's expression and looked down.
"What is this ?", asked Ram worriedly.
"Nothing Bhaiya , just a small cut , it will be fine in sometime, Urmila has put the medicine", said Lakshman assuring Ram.
"See , what have you done to yourself ", said Ram making Lakshman sit on sofa.
Lakshman smiled gently seeing Ram's concern.
Shatrughan came forward , he just looked down , not able to face his Lakshman bhaiya.
Lakshman who was sitting saw him and understood that what he was thinking , what he wants to say but unable to .
Lakshman stood , moved toward him with bit difficulty , raised his chin but Shatrughan didn't have guts to see in his eyes.
"So , what has happened that this naughty brother of mine is not able to face me", said Lakshman looking into his eyes holding him.
Shatrughan didn't spoke a word.
"Oh Oh ...so I understood , he wants to ask forgiveness from me but he isn't able to say", said Lakshman looking at him and then everybody who were smiling at them including Ram who was gently smiling seeing twins of Sumitra and his two naughty brothers.
Bharat and Ram , Urmila - Mandavi- Shruthkirti and Mothers exchange looks.
"If you are thinking this , then I will not forgive you", said Lakshman.
"Lakshman Bhaiya...", Shatrughan frowned.
Everyone look towards each confused and worriedly.
"Ok ... I will forgive you only on two conditions ", said Lakshman smiling teasingly.
"And what is that ?", asked Shatrughan looking towards his bhaiya.
"First...You will have to smile brightly now and Second is that ...u have to give me a tight hug", said Lakshman winking.
Shatrughan face lit up , he smiled brightly.
"Lakshman bhaiya !!!!", exclaimed Shatrughan hugging him tightly.
"My little Shatrughan", said Lakshman caressing his younger brother hairs.
Everyone were happy now , now they were sure that midnight is going to be very good.
"Shatrughan , Lakshman, now eat this", Sumitra came with a bowl of sweets.
She picked on Laddu and was going to feed Lakshman , she looked towards them , they were looking towards each other , Shatrughan didn't eaten the sweet like before due to fear . Lakshman looked towards Shatrughan , took Laddu from Sumitra Maa and put it in Shatrughan's mouth.
Shatrughan smiled and looked at Lakshman while eating , Lakshman smiled back lovingly.
"See them , sometimes they are so irritated with each other and sometimes they become so protective and caring for each other", said Urmila giggling at them.
Ram heard this and had a hearty laugh.
"Shatrughan and Lakshman , you both are sometimes...",said Mandavi laughing.
"Oh...Oh ... they both are my naughty sons , they irritate each other for fun but deep down in heart , their love is pure and boundless for each other", said Sumitra smiling.
"Yes , Sumitra , you are saying totally correct", Kaikeyi and Kaushalya joined.
Lakshman and Shatrughan smiled looking at each other.
"Ram Bhaiya , Bharat Bhaiya where have you both gone today afternoon without telling me", Lakshman asked curiously and irritated.
Ram and Bharat smile faded away and they looked towards each other in "Handle please" look.
And you both even came when Shatrughan called everyone at practice area in afternoon.
"Ummm...Lakshman ...", Ram looked around.
"Tell naa Bhaiya", asked Lakshman.
Ram smiled fakely and holded Lakshman's shoulders "We ...We both have gone to inform the praja about grand celebration that will took place midnight".
" Oh ...Ok ...But Bhaiya , Why you didn't called me for the same ?", asked Lakshman frowning.
Ram was speechless as he didn't have a answer, just then Shatrughan came in between.
"Lakshman Bhaiya , Leave naa , U eat this", interrupted Shatrughan with Laddoo in his hand.
"But Shatrughan...", Lakshman continued but Shatrughan put laddoo in his mouth so that he can't speak.
"Leave naa Bhaiya , forget that , see , you got a chance to do swordfight first time with Urmila bhabhi" , said Shatrughan winking.
Urmila looked down smiling while Lakshman looked around but in thoughts Lakshman was very happy to experience such scene.
Ram signalled Urmila to take Lakshman in their room.
Urmila nodded.
"Arya , you should take rest now", said Urmila .
"Rest ...but now ?", replied Lakshman.
"The more you will take rest , the faster you will get well", smiled Urmila and holded him.
They both started moving to their room while everyone sighed.
"We got saved ...", Shatrughan sighed happily.
"We got saved , yes , I didn't have any answer because I can't tell him that we gone to inform everyone about his birthday and if we would have call him , the plan would have flopped in no moment", Ram sighed.
"Thanks a lot , Shatrughan", smiled Ram brightly.
"You are always welcome , bhaiya", Shatrughan smiled back.
"Now , we only have to do final touch , that's it", Ram smiled.
"We still have time , we can finished all preparations by the midnight", said Bharat .
Ram nodded .
While Lakshman and Urmila were happily moved into the room , they saw their kids sleeping peacefully, they smiled gently and looked towards each other.
Lakshman slept besides kids and Urmila sat on a sofa to look for Lakshman as maybe he would need something , she waited for midnight.
Everyone started doing preparations again , Mothers looked up to food's preparations , while rest of them got busy in main hall preparations as well as decoration of palace from inside. Hanuman decorated the palace from outside with beautiful flowers and litted diyas , Shatrughan too helped despite being asked to sit and see by everyone.
The palace was shining gold and bright in night.
As planned , everything was done till midnight by the hard work of everyone.
They all regretted that they couldn't able to decorate Lakshman's room due to plan but they did the possible decorations outside his room and told Urmila to bring Lakshman with tied cloth on his eyes , Urmila smiled excitedly.
"Now , it's time to surprise Lakshman", said Ram rubbing his hands happily.
"Urmila bhabhi must be coming with Bhaiya" , joined Shatrughan.
"Arya , wake up", said Urmila smiling brightly.
Lakshman woke up hearing her call and sat upright on bed.
"It's midnight, Arya , Come On let's move", said Urmila smiling brightly .
She was looking very beautiful in moonlight , she had done fresh up , and addition to morning dressup , she has decorated her hair with a beautiful flowers.
Lakshman stared at her beauty for a moment and smiled.
"Where are these naughty kids , Mila ?", asked Lakshman looking around laughing.
"They have already gone out", said Urmila giggling.
"I knew this !!!", Lakshman sighed . "They are always excited for any occasion" , he continued.
Lakshman got up from bed , combed his hair put on his jewels .
Urmila came from back and tied a cloth on his eyes.
"Mila...What is this", asked Lakshman touching his covered eyes.
"You ask so many questions Arya , Shhh...Come with me", smiled Urmila brightly.
"Mila , you are sometimes totally out of my understanding", said Lakshman sighing.
Urmila giggled " Let's move".
She took Lakshman's hand in her and moved out of room , she was extremely surprised seeing the heavy decoration of the palace.
They moved down to main hall where everyone were waiting for them and it was dark.
Ram saw them coming ,smiled brightly, everyone got ready including 8 kids to surprise Lakshman.
Urmila came down and everyone signalled her to open his tied cloth.
"Mila open this ...what's the need of this", requested Lakshman to Urmila.
"Ok ,Ok ...I am opening it...", said Urmila smiling teasingly.
Urmila opened thd tied cloth .
It was dark , no one was around , lakshman got confused.
Suddenly room got bright with light and everyone came inside Room.
" HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LAKSHMAN !!!!!!!!!!!!", shouted everyone.
Lakshman got highly shocked and surprised , he looked around , he took a moment to cope up with what he heard.
"Happy Birthday Arya", said Urmila smiling through happy tears at him.
Lakshman smiled at her and goes to wiped her tears but Urmila stopped him saying that these are happy tears , let them flow.
"Happy Birthday my dear brother Lakshman", said Ram hugging Lakshman with uncontrollable happiness and tears.
"Bhaiya , this ...this ... you ...all have...done for me...", said Lakshman with happy tears.
"Ofcourse for you and ..", Ram became quiet after realising , what he was about to speak.
"And ...?", Lakshman asked.
"And for your happiness , Lakshman", Ram added quickly.
"Bhaiya !!!! But you know naa...", Lakshman tried to continue in tears but Ram put his fingers on his brother's lips.
"Please , Lakshman , please let me give u happiness", requested Ram smiling with tears brimmed in his eyes.
Lakshman nodded and hugged him tightly.
Shatrughan was praying to god to fullfil his wish silently while Ram gave him a assured smile.
Praja too came in Main hall as invited by Ram and Bharat.
Ram turned around to people , everyone said "Jai shri Ram" , in chorus.
Ram smiled at his people and folded his hands in respect to them.
"Today , I am going to tell , who is Lakshman for me , what is his importance in my life , how I feel connected to him so much", Ram said with proud feeling.
" You can say , who is Lakshman from my eyes", Ram smiled proudly and looked at him with brimmed tears .
Lakshman kept looking at him with a gentle smile seeing his love for him.
Ram closed his eyes , relaxed himself , slowly opened his eyes , smiled radiantly and he was excited to tell his perspective of Lakshman.
