yes i've said this earlier.. and ofcourse I was misunderstood.. Yudi does anything that is in the book and refuses to do anything that does not.. just like a student who says I know the book is wrong but who cares, I want centum.. hence proving the idea of the war being purely for land and not for any social reformation.. what change can someone strictly following rules (dharma) can bring to the society?

Actually someone asked in the previous thread, Is there any mention of change after the war? I think the P's spent most of their time in just rebuilding the kingdom. and perfoming the Ashwameda Yajna. Following the rules is good. But being too much of a strickler for the rules can be detrimental as we can see in MB

Arijit bhai, Curses were probably there. But seems they wanted him dead regardless and acc to what Jamy has posted, they wanted him dead even BEFORE the curses. There must have been a reason for that no? Just trying to figure out that

Radhika, Am not sure Karna would have been any better than that, honestly. They were all men of their times and the only people who saw beyond that were G and P and later on Arjun as well. May be thats why Arjun's line had to rule.

Diala, there was a multiplicity of motives meeting there. For the Brahmins it was who gets the final say over the rules that guided the nation. For DDSK and Y it was land. For B, it was revenge. For A too, it was land, but after GG he came to be G's follower. I think it was revolution for G. I believe the same for Panchali a well, because this was a woman who forgave time and time gain; somehow she is still portrayed as a vengeful virago

EDIT - Hey, that was post #5000🥳

Congrats Anu on changing colour 🥳

have you found anything that supports the revolution part? because regarding Draupadi, she did abuse Yudi's thirst for throne when she lost her sons.. why say so if she knew she was part of revolution

Anu, Congrats, u r red now 👏

I was just thinking out loud anu, that's it. My assumption was that there was nobody who stuck to these rules and regulations like Yudhi. Most of the others (the yudhi's generation), have been willing to bend some time or the other no?

So these people (whoever they were, who wanted Karna dead), must have thot that, Yudhi would be an easier follower to their way of life than Karna.

I'm just speculating here😊

Diala, I thin Panchali's revolution was for a better society unlike Yudhi's. Hence her criticism of Yudhi.

Diala.
Where do I start?😆

1) At the risk of being called a ghor kaliyugi, I will say this. Polyandry was not accepted practice in HP, Panchal or Dwarka. She put up with Yudhi okaying her being divided like a cake
2) She stood and announced in the DS that she DOES NOT blame Yudhi, though she tears a strip off him later
3) She later in vana parva says that human beings have to ACT, for destiny to be fulfilled while Yudhi wanted to wait for it to happen
4) She didn't go to Panchal when she could have
5) Though Y was the one wanted to forgive Jaydrath, she didnt object to it. Jaydrath was trying to rape her. He was not as closely related to them as Kauravas were. Granted they did not have military support, but they didn't have that when she got B to kill Keechak, their HOST'S OWN BIL
6) She negotiated with Keechak before getting B to kill him
7) After the Upakeechaks tried to kill, she did not ask for a war on the Keechak clan
8) After the war, she forgives Ashwi. If she can forgive the teacher's son, she couldn't forgive their own cousins?

Please! This was no woman out for revenge. She was not out for land either, as she clearly argues against the peace treaty.

Then the question is, why did she want war? I believe that the original reason she was married to Yudhi was the same reason she went to war. The dreams of a better society through that alliance

Anu, congrats for panchaali's colour...

1. Adhiratha, acc to bhagavata also was a suta only. He was no prince, but a suta born to some anga king.

2. Curses, if they are related to Karna, I think those stories are added to create confusions about his death. Curses were always a topic of debate in Karna AT. However, I have not found any other internal evidences than curse stories themselves to show these curses were real. So I believe Karna was not cursed.

Anu, people often look for words, not actions. That is why our fellows still vote for same politicians. So are their opinions about Draupadi. They judge her by her words, not by her actions. Anger is a common thing & most of what we say when we are angry, are not actually meant by us but just an outburst. Luckily, very less do understand it is the same for everyone.
