Culpability for Mandira's rape?

So, who is ultimately responsible for Mandira's rape? Ofcourse it is Sameer. He alone was responsible for forcing himself on her. We have seen preview of this in his behavior towards Indira - in the car as well as in Rishi's room when he crowded Indira against the wall.

But like real life when things go all pear shaped, we look to allocate blame. Such is happening in this forum too. so lets analyse.

Rishi
  • If he hadn't used Diwan properties to save SN, Sameer would never have come into contact with Indira (question - how would SN have been saved?)
  • If he hadn't spoken to Sameer about his love for Indira, the competition would never have started
  • If he hadn't kissed Indira's hand, Sameer would never have been provoked
  • If he hadn't called Sameer over the phone to tell him he is marrying Indira, Sameer would never have lost it (question - how would he have stopped Sameer from kidnapping Indira again and marrying her forcibly?)

Indira
  • If she had never accepted her boss's offer to collect monies due from Sameer and his company, she would never have met Sameer and aroused him
  • If she had not slapped him, mocked him repeatedly, she would not have aroused him
  • If she had not taunted him with being his bhabi, he would not have been provoked
  • If she had called Rishi instead of Sameer to get info on her brother's hospital care, "gutter ka kira" /"jutie ke neeche rakhoonga" dialogues would not have happened and Sam would not have precipitated the kidnapping

Mandira
  • Should never have taunted him with rape given the mood he was in.

If one goes into "if only" game playing, there is plenty of blame to go around.
But it is a fruitless and a truly unfair exercise.

At the end of the day, the blame rests with Sameer only. Given his nature, Indira escaped and Mandira got caught. If Mandira had not gotten caught, Indira's and Rishi's luck would have run out sooner or later and Indira would have been suffering.

Nice post again. 😊

When it comes to dealing with pyschos (who appear very normal when things are going their way), you need to be intelligent. You need to be emotionally intelligent.

This is where both Rishi and Indira came up short. Like you said, they repeatedly provoked him with taunts/acts which opened up the beast inside him. As far as Mandira goes, her provocation can be accepted because she was known for being immature/foolish.

But Rishi and Indira are supposed to be level-headed. They did'nt deal with Sameer properly.

Most of the times, with pyschos, the best way to deal with them is to avoid them. Simply because they can do anything. Literally.

All said and done, Sameer needs to be taught a lesson which he should not forget for many births.

Wonderful post (may i know ur name plz 😊)

Agree wid each & every point u have put across. wud like to add just one more point. blaming circumstances for whatever one faces is wrong. ultimately its about ones own choices. indira & rishi both provoked sameer. but this provocation wasnt intentional. it was more of a reaction to sameers vile acts! neither of them could have anticipated that this would be the 'way' he chose to 'punish' them. they cannot be blamed for his choices. and even if they could have anticipated his moves how else could they have reacted?

if rishi hadnt brought diwans into the SN deal, would indira have a roof on her head?
if indira hadnt slapped sam when he got all touchy wouldnt indira have across as cheap or weak?
if rishi hadnt kidnapped indira wouldnt it have been indira in mandiras place? would dat be better? or worse?

for me, neither rishi nor indira are to be blamed for what happened to mandira. she was playing a risky game as she always had in the past. this time the difference was she was playing it wid someone who knew the game better & hence she lost out badly.

a personal opinion: when we try to find who else is guilty along with sam, i feel we are granting sam an unfair advantage which he certainly doesnt deserve. he deserves a punishment which he wont forget anytime in the near future.

a normal person is not provoked by this small thing, how can a human nature be changed,if his nature is that he provoked by small things then god save.all the deed done by indra and rishi is done only in the betterment ,but we can deal with normal person but we can't deal with mentally sick person.his character is totally sick ,this character real place is in mental asylum not between the ppl

if indira's taunts and slaps are a reason of provocation, then i think rishi would have done a serious crime ages ago.. indira definitely has slapped and insulted rishi more than she did sameer and also when rishi was not at fault... if i remember correctly, indira thanked sameer when they first met at his office for his (unwilling) help in taking rishi to the hospital... and only afterwards when he started his banter about how he is not suppose to pay his dues and instead she should pay for petrol did she turn defensive..

I agree with your views in a normal scenario. But when we are dealing with abnormal people, we need to be careful. Everybody should behave responsibly towards the society. We all must do our bit. Inspite of it if bad happens then we can't do anything. Atleast we will have the satisfaction that we did our part properly.

In Sameer's case, he is a proven psycho. His tolerance level is near 0. So Indu and Rishi should have been careful when dealing with him. This is simply because he harms OTHER PEOPLE when he loses it.

Please ... I am not suggesting (even for a moment) that Sameer is not at fault. He and only he is the reason behind this crime. He must be subjected to the highest possible punishment.

Nice post but i am not agree with rishi and indira responsible for mandira rape .sam and mandira is both are the responsible for the rape. sameer is more responsible because he do force to mandira. If indira not slapped sameer there no difference remin between indira, mandira and jumpha character.

NOTHING justifies rape.
I know someone who was a victim of this in real life.
And all I can say is that it is always the raper that is at blame, never the victim. Yes, Mandira had her flaws... but if she indeed got raped, and isn't putting on an act... then there is no one to blame but Sameer. Even a corrupt girl like Mandira doesn't deserve it, nor can she be held accountable for Sameer's demonish acts.

Provocation cannot justify Sameer's act. Surely, there was provocation from Rishi, Indira, and Mandira at various circumstances as pointed out.
I think a person like Sameer who is abnormal either somebody provokes or not, his nature of behavior is going to be the same. Do you think if Indu had not slapped him, not taunted him in front of his employees, not called him gutter ka keeda, he wouldn't have had any obsession to acquire her ?
He hates losing and I suppose Rishi knew Sameer better than any of them and it is sometimes questionable knowing his psycho behavior of his brother, I wonder why did he threw that challenge who wins over Indira ? or was it Rishi taught like his many ex-girlfriends which Rishi took over from Sameer and Sameer let go, he would do the same with Indira ? I would give the benefit of doubt to Rishi as he was concentrating on Indu to save from Sameer all the time, as he very well knew the sleeping beast in Sameer has woken up with Indu and Rishi provocation and he could do anything and that is how even he cracked down that kidnap plan.
But Rishi couldn't second guess what was cooking between Sameer and Mandira. With Sameer's losing badly and all his plan being destroyed by Rishi, it was obvious the lid was about to blown away and Mandira didn't help the cause and dug her own grave by blackmailing and provocating him.
The moral of the story thereby for both Indu and Mandira is: "Agar saap ke bill mei haath daloogi toh kaatega hee na ?" Indu ne tho Rishi ka vaccination se baach gaye, par Madira paas gaye.'
