Lol, sorry but I don't agree. JKR shouldn't have had to change her story because of the movies. As per the epic, Ron and Hermione are so much more compatible.

1. Harry is not James and Hermione is not Lily. Their personalities are entirely different. Compatible as friends, but not lovers. Harry acts like Lily while Hermione acts like Remus more.

6. Harry does not confide in Hermione. When , after watching James and Lily fight in the Pensieve, he is depressed, he lies outright to Hermione that it is about Cho. Yet, he simply tells Ginny that he wants to talk to Sirius.
7. Harry shows no feelings of jealousy when Hermione harbours romantic inclinations for Krum or Lockhart. She in turn harbours no jealousy in his romantic inclinations for Cho.

I could write much more but I wont. And honestly, if you think Harry's better off DEAD than not be with Hermione, I'm certainly really glad you're not the author.

NOTE : do not confuse Dan and Emma with Harry and Hermione. Or the movies with the books.

It's subjective, you know. There are fans of all kinds of pairings. I personally am all for canon. Harry and Ginny may not have been a very romantic couple, but I honestly don't care because for me, Harry Potter was not about romance. The themes of the epic were completely different, like war, abuse, etc. She did not have time for romance so she did not focus too much on developing the relationships of each character, which is OK. If one wants to read a romance story, Harry Potter is not the one. It deals with much more complex themes.

People have their own opinion, and JKR wrote what she wanted at the time. We don't have to agree with her, but it's her story so we don't really have the right to say what she should or shouldn't have done. Besides, for me Harry and Hermione are such a boring couple. There's nothing interesting about their relationship. Had they been together, it would have been so cliche with the hero and heroine getting together like in every other story. Ron complements Hermione in a way that Harry never can. That's just my opinion.

Btw, neither Luna nor Cho died. Cho is even more random than Ginny for Harry, and Luna would have been OK, but I'm more a fan of Luna-Neville than Luna-Harry. Luna and Neville would have been so cute.
