Technically yeah, she does have the right to write anything she wants, and re-publish Deathly Hallows too, but you know as well as I do that the general public would not accept it, not just because of the whole Harry-Hermione-Ron triangle, but because it's been years since the book came out, and people have come to accept the story as it's been written. If a new Deathly Hallows came out, it would not seem like a part of the story, and fans would have a hard time accepting it.
Besides, the story is not about romance so it doesn't really matter who ends up with whom. The whole story revolved around Harry's battle with Voldemort, and if Harry died, it should make sense with the storyline. He shouldn't die just because some fans don't like Harry-Ginny. These days, it has become too much a habit among authors to kill off their main characters, and often it ruins the storyline because the death makes no sense. IMO, Harry dying would have ruined the storyline for me.
Hermione fans like her with many people. 😆 Harry-Hermione and Hermione-Draco have quite a large number of fans, but I would say the canon Ron-Hermione makes up a greater part of the fanbase. I can come up with a number of reasons why they are the perfect couple, but I won't because that's just my opinion. Ron-Hermione were decided by JKR since the beginning. If you remember, Ron feels jealous of Viktor Krum in the 4th book when Hermione goes with him to the Yule Ball, and Hermione feels positively murderous when Ron and Lavender Brown begin dating in the 6th book. Ron and Hermione always had this attraction that they tried to deny but never could. On the other hand, Hermione and Harry never had any romantic interaction, neither in their behavior or their description of each other's physical appearance. JKR wrote them as a brother-sister from the start, so even if she did change her mind about their relationship later on, she couldn't get them together because she had never developed their relationship like she did Ron and Hermione's. Besides, JKR never said even now that she suddenly hates their relationship. She probably thought of ways she could have made Harry-Hermione a potential couple too. Anyway, it's too late now and IMO, JKR should be careful what she says in public because it could affect her popularity with the fanbase, as most of the fans are satisfied with the series as it is.
