as she came back into the room, her hair dripping around her, he looked at her and there eyes met. he gently went up to her and said
'gulaal main..'.
she quickly cut him off and said 'main neeche jati hoon, tu naha ke aaja' and left.
kesar showered and as he made his way down the stairs heard a soulful tune. as he went a beautiful sight met his eyes gulaal and saru fui were standing infront of the mandir and gulaal was singing the arti, with all her heart. the rest of the family member stood behind them and kesar quickly went and joined them.
when gulaal had finished saru fui put her hand on her head and said 'bohot acccha beta, itne dino ke baad, itni meethi awaaz suni, jeeti raho'. gulaal smiled happily, for it was after a long time someone elderly was praising her, she felt extremely warm and happy inside.
gulaal turned to give the prasad to the family members and saw kesar standing at the back, she quickly loked down and began to distribute the prasad and one by one all the family members left for the breakfast table.
gulaal finally reached kesar who was standing at the back, she looked around nervously incase anyone was watching and then smiled happily at him, 'kitin acchi hai saru fui, mujhe maa ki yaad dila di'.
'hmm bohot acchi hai' and then looked down at the sweet she was holding 'mujhe nahi dhegi'
she smiled at him 'haan leh na' and held it out to him
'nahi aise nahi, khud khila'
'kesar pagal hogaya hai kya, aaj subha hi paanba ne kya kaha aur tu ab phir se'
he looked at her and then turned around 'theek hai, main nahi khata' and started walking away
gulaal sighed she knew it was not good to leave God's offering, 'theek hai leh' and she held out her hand
he came up to her and she gently put it in, 'vaah kitna meetha hai' he said smiling at her, and then grabbed her hand and kissed it 'par isse zyada nahi'.
gulaal blushed and said 'dhat besharam' and they then heard a scream which sounded pretty much like saru fui.
when reaching the breakfast table, kesar took one look at talli and burst out laughing 'yeh kya kiya'.
saru fui looked angrily at her 'maine toh pehle se hi kaha tha, yeh ladki pagal hai, tune yeh kya chehre par laga rakha hai, pagal ladki'
talli gave them all a angry look for they were all laughing at her, even gulaal was having trouble hiding her laugh behind her hands'
'aap sab ko toh kuch nah pata, yeh face mask hai, aaj main aur kesar jaayenge, aur sab purane dost mile ge isiliye, main sab se sundar lagoon gi'.
kesar who was howling in laughter, clutched his side and tried to catch his breath 'jaa toh gulaal bhi rahi hai, lekin issne toh kuch aisa nah kiya'.
paanba who was sitting on the other side of the table quickly shot in, 'gulaal vaha aa kar kya karegi'. and saru fui also gave kesar a questioning look.
'arrey gulaal toh talli ki sabsi acchi dost hai na, toh talli iss ke bina toh kabhi nahi jayegi' and he looked at talli 'haina'
talli who was put on the spot said 'h..haan gulaal ko toh saath mein chalna hi hoga'. she gave kesar a dirty look and left.
everyone finished breakfast and went on to do there own work, paanba and jamna kaki left for the kitchen, motaba left for work and rewa and devika left for college. only kesar, saru fui and gulaal were left at the table and then saru fui began to speak.
'gulaal mein hamre ghar ki taraf se bohot sharminda hoon, joh khuch bhi hua tere saath'.
gulaal stared at her feeling very overwhelmed she had not properly spoken to anyone about vasant.
'mujhe toh yeh nahi yakeen hoh raha ke hamare apne vasant ne, tujh jaisi ladki ki zindagi barbad kar di'
gulaal just looked down tears flowing from her eyes.
'tu chinta mat kar, bohot jald teri zindagi mein koi aur aajay ga, joh teri zindagi mein rang hi rang bar dega'.
gulaal looked up and saw kesar looking at her franitcally from across the table, she wiped away her tears incase he said something and said 'jee saru fui, koi bohot accha mil jay gaa'
kesar smiled at her and said 'gulaal kafi time hoh raha hai, tu jaake tayaar hoja'. gulaal nodded and was about to leave when paanba called her into the kitchen. she quickly left. saru fui stared at her fondly, 'kitni pyaari bacchi hai'.
kesar also looked behind her and said 'bohot'
she turned to him and said 'tune kuch kaha kya kesar'.
'kuch bhi toh nahi' kesar quickly got up and left.
in the kitchen jamna kaki and paanba stared at gulaal with hatred. paanba spoke first
'gulaal, main janti hoon, ke tu zabardasti kar ke kesar ke saath ja rahi hai, lekin ek baat sun le, khabardar joh tune tali aur kesar ke beech mein aane ki koshish ki'. and then jamna kaki added,
'kyun meri beti ki zindagi barbad karni ki koshish mein lagi hai, bechari ne kya begara hai tera'.
gulaal looked at them with tears rolling out of her eyes 'maine kuch nahi kiya, aap...', but she was cut off as kesar entered the kitchen
'gulaal tu roh rahi ha', she quckly wiped her tears and paanba said
'haan apne papa ki yaad aa rahi thi, bechari ko'.
kesar looked at her 'tu theek hai'
h..haan main theek hoon, main jaa kar tayaar hoh jaati hoon' and she quickly left the kitchen.

kesar sat in the car with talli, who was looking moodily out of the car
'kitni der lagayi gi',
'talli maine tujhe kaha toh, abhi thodi dher pehle gayi thi'.
they both waited and then suddenly talli said 'voh dekh aagayi'.
kesar turned to see her coming out of the house with a white coloured saree on, her hair fell in loose curl's around her head, she gently walked up to them and turned to kesar 'theek hai kya',
kesar looked at her breathlessly 'bohot sundar lag rahi hai'
gulaal turned to talli 'bohot pyaari lag rahi hai talli'.
kesar looked at talli and snorted trying to hide his laughter, she gave him a dirty look
'hans leh jitna hasna hai, lekin mera yeh dress bohot hi zyada mehenga hai and she tugged at the little black dress she was wearing.
'chup kar kesar' gulaal said also climbing in the car 'talli boht acchi lag rahi hai'.

as they reached the college hall, there was all lights and it looked extremly beautiful, talli climbed out of the car and ran to join her freinds.
kesar climbed out and opened the door for gulaal 'chalo' he said smiling at her.
she looked at him worried, 'kesar main sach mein theek lag rahi hoon na'.
he moved foward to where she was sitting in the car, and gently brushed his lips aginst her, ' ab toh yakeen hogaya, kyunki main kabhi bhi kisi ugly ladki ko kiss nahi karta', she told him to shut up and climbed out of the car.
as they moved towards the huge doors, he grabbed her hand, she looked at it in suprise
'arrey lagana toh chaiye ke hum couple hai', he smiled at her and she smiled back.
as they moved in suddenly they were surrounded by lots of people all of them hugged kesar tightly and ruffled his hair, gulaal smiled at this, they then went on to greet her and all the girls surrounded her
'wow ya kesar, tu toh bilkool pari ko laya hai', gulaal blushed and kesar said 'tum toh meri choice ko toh jaanti hoh'.
and then right at the end, stood kunal, he took one look at kesar and turned away
'mujhe sabse end mein yaad kiya,
'kesar grined at him and said 'tujhe main kabhi bhool sakta hoon ,kya' and threw his arms around him, kunal hugged him back tightly, kunal then moved away
'accha accha bas kar, pata nahi bhabi kya samjhe ghi'.
gulaal started laughing and everyone around them started to laugh and all the tension was gone.
three girls grabbed gulaal's arm and said 'chal gulaal humare saath' and they dragged, her away. she turned back to see kesar looking at her anxiously, she gave him a reassured smile and went with them.

kesar stared at her, from across the hall, she was smiling lightly and talking, swaying her head to the music.
suddenly kunal put his hand infront of kesar's face and said 'yohooo, hum toh yaha hai, waha kya dekh raha hai'
kesar quickly looked away 'kuch nahi dekh raha'.
kunal started laughing, he looked around to check if it was only the two of them 'kesar sab theek toh hai na, mera matlab hai, tu aur bhabi khush toh hai na'.
kesar looked at kunal 'mere aur gulaal ke beech mein toh sab theek hai, lekin mujhe dar lagta hai ke voh khush nahi hai, hamari iss shaadi se'.
kunal looked over at where gulaal was standing and laughing 'kya keh raha hai yaar, bhabi toh bohot khush lag rahi hai'.
'i know muhe pata hai, lekin voh toh sirf jab ghar se door hoh, jab hum sab gharwalon ke paas hote hai, gulaal meri gulaal nahi rehti, thodi si gumsum hoh jaati hai'.
kunal knowingly said 'kesar um mera matlab hai, sab ghar waale khush toh hai na'.
kesar looked at him suprised, it was the question he had been fearing to ask himself 'lagta toh hai yaar but tujhe toh pata hai na, yeh sab itni suddenly hua toh unko thodi dher toh lagi gi na, aur phir saru fui bhi ayee hui hai toh'.
'uff maine kitna kuch miss kar diya, main kisi din ghar aoonga'
'haan tujhe aana toh chahiye, tujhe bohot miss karta hoon yaar' and he slapped him lightly on the back
'ab meri chor apni bata, koi ladki mili ya nahi'
kunal looked around 'nahi yaar koi acchi waali dekhi toh batana'.
suddenly a whole group of friends came up to them and everyone started chatting among themselves.
one of the boys smiled at kesar and said 'toh yaar bataana kaha tak baat bari hai'.
kesar looked at him and wondered what, he was talking about, then realised what he said and started to get angry, no one could talk about him and gulaal like that, he was about to reply, when another boy said 'besharam bhabi humse kitni bari hai, sharam kar aur waise bhi, bhabi aisi cheezon ke baare main sochti hi nahi hongi, dekh kitne innocent tareeke se side par kari hai'.
kesar looked over at gulaal and burst out laughing as he remembered the way she had kissed him, the boys loked beweildered and shut up.
after a while a slow and romantic song began to play gulaal immidiately looked up at kesar and saw him staring at her, she quickly looked away, and then suddenly he satrted to walk over to her, she felt extremely shy and quickly began talking to the girls around her.
as he was about to reach her, talli popped up out of nowhere 'chal na kesar dance karte hai'.
kesar looked at her shocked 'iss gaane par, pagal hogayi hai kya'.
talli said 'kyun nahi, aage toh hum aise hi songs par dance karenge na'.
kesar loked at her confused 'kya kaha'
talli looked at him annoyed 'kuch nahi. ,main jaa kar kisi aur ko doond leti hoon' and left.
kesar looked up and resumed walking over to gulaal.
