Written Update Dec 8, 2010, Episode 18

The panchayat asks Gulaal's parents where Gulaal is. Poonam makes an excuse but her husband tells them the truth that Gulaal helped their enemies, and he is willing to accept their punishment. The panchayat tells him that he will have to roam the village for one day without his turban, and will need to take it off right now. Poonam and Yogesh are shocked. Revji is embarrassed, and full of shame and shaky hands he slowly removes his turban, his hands shake a lot, and he removes it covering his face while bringing it down as if he will die with the shame of it, the panchayat leaves, Revji falls on the floor totally broken while Yogesh and Poonam hold him. Its a very touching scene.

Gulaal is eating with Vasant and his parents in the kitchen, totally oblivious to her parents' plight. She should have left as soon as her work was done thinking of her parents, instead she is here having fun while they are going through public embarrassment especially since her father just recovered from his fall down the stairs. Reva and Devika come to take Gulaal to the factory, she has hiccups and thinks of calling her parents. Reva tells her that Ghigha will not like it, Devika says he will never know. Poonam doesn't tell Gulaal about their plight but Gulaal probably senses it and tells the girls she will leave the next day. The girls take her to see Talsagra. Sudha glares at Gulaal angrily, Dushyant says Gulaal has some magic that people keep looking at her, Sudha refuses to listen to his talks about Gulaal, he asks what her problem with Gulaal, she says she is jealous, she doesn't like that people in their family like Gulaal more than her, when her husband is away and the rest of the family prefers someone else there is nothing left.

The girls go to the factory, Gulaal likes the work on the clothes a lot. The women praise her for her boon, Gulaal likes a dress and everyone insists she keep it, Reva asks her to try it on. Gulaal puts it on and Vasant comes there, he sees her in the beautiful dress and cannot take his eyes off her, Gulaal asks where he was, he says he is on her entire body, the girls are shocked, he says his reflection is in all the mirrors on Gulaal's dress. A woman brings her pregnant daughter to touch Gulaal's feet thinking of her to be Goddess, Gulaal refuses and says she is an ordinary girl and runs outside. Vasant says what is wrong with that, Gulaal says its untrue that she is a Goddess, Vasant says if by a small lie someone is happy what is wrong with it, Gulaal says tomorrow more people will come so they need to nip it in the bud.

Someone tells Vasant that his family is looking for him, everyone offers their bicycle for him to drive home. Gulaal says she doesn't know to ride a bike, Dushyant says they will teach her. Vasant and Dushyant teach her and Dushyant likes being close to her, Gulaal almost falls and Dushyant holds her from the side, she rides it, Kesar comes in front of her way teasing her and she falls while Kesar laughs, both Dushyant and Vasant extend their hand to pick her up, Gulaal takes Dushyant's hand first, Vasant's face falls, then she takes Vasant's hand with her other hand and gets up. She then gets on the bike and rides it perfectly as if she knows to ride it.

Gulaal is with Paan Baa checking out the family album. She sees a photo that looks like Kesar but its Vasant, he used to look exactly like Kesar as a kid. Talking about Vasant Gulaal blushes and Paan Baa realizes that she probably likes him. A photo falls out of Paan Baa with her first husband, Paan Baa tells her that she had to do deeyarvattu with Mota Bha. Gulaal asks what it is. Paan Baa says that when a young girl loses her husband her marriage is done with her brother-in-law. Suddenly her husband died and she was 19 years old and going to kill herself when Dayi Baa explained to her that it will not be easy to live like a widow so young, her parents will also not support her, why not remain in the house with honor, she was married to Mota Bha. Gulaal says its a strange tradition. Paan Baa says she got Mota Bha and this family, she finds this to be a boon, but for some people it maybe a curse.
