Everyone is happy that the dance went so well, Vasant cannot take his eyes off Gulaal, everyone praises Lakha. Gulaal says that this year they will definitely win. Vasant takes his leave, Gulaal asks where he has put up, he says temple, she asks if he is God, he says he is trying to be a human, Yogesh asks him to come home with them, Vasant thanks them for all their love but he is fine at the temple, Gulaal insists and says he has to come with them else tomorrow's newspapers will have the news that Rashipur's women kidnapped the drum-player. They all go home, dancing and singing, they reach home and dance around Poonam. Gulaal is sooo lively. Vasant remembers Poonam as one of his customers in the fair. Yogesh praises Gulaal's dance, Gulaal says that Lakha played the drum so well that her feet would not stop. Vasant takes Poonam's blessings.
Gulaal's father asks how can he play the drum so well if he is a mere bangle-seller. He says he learned it from his friend in his village. Yogesh continues to praise Lakha as does Gulaal. Yogesh says that they brought them home else he would have stayed the night at the temple. Vasant refuses, Poonam says why not, he will stay the night there.
Vasant is in his room, Gulaal comes there and says that she has seen many drum-players but the first one who breathes life into it, he says he has seen many dancers but the first one who dropped lightning with her dance. The dialogues are sooo amazing, every single word is like a poetry, every single thing is said with a metaphor, I hang on to everything because its so beautiful - where are these dialogues now with Kesar? I wish they continued this same manner of writing. But of course Kesar is more modern and has a different lingo. Gulaal says liar, what burned, he says the drum-player's ego burned. He gives her green bangles, she says he has to put them on her. He says she sometimes calls him magician, drum-player, bangle-seller, she says she knows him well, he looks worried, she says he is double-faced then starts giggling. She says she has nothing to give him right now in return for the bangles, he says when the time comes he will think of something.
The cow keeps mooing, he says the cow is probably pregnant. She asks is he a cowherd now. He runs to the barn, Gulaal's aunt consoles the cow. Vasant wets the grass and feeds it to the cow, he tells the aunt that in a few days the cow will give birth, she says the village has doctors for humans but not for animals. Gulaal laughs and says that he is a doctor, he cures donkeys as well, he says he can cure donkeys as well as cats like Gulaal. The aunt asks who he is, Gulaal says he is Lakha, Yogesh's friend, the aunt asks which village he is from, Gulaal asks him which village is he from, Lakha changes the topic and asks her to feed the cow wet grass.
When they are alone, Gulaal asks who is he, drum-player, bangle-seller, double-faced, or doctor. The aunt gives Vasant something to eat, Gulaal giggles and says that anything happens call the animal doctor.
Dushyant sneaks around and gets some men to steal grains from Mota Bha's godown, he threatens one of the men when he tells him that what if Mota Bha finds out.
Next morning Gulaal gets Vasant tea, both flirt a bit. He starts asking her about Neerja but they hear an angry conversation and go to see. Yogesh says that they heard that Mota Bha from Talsagra is compelling the villagers to remain in the village, Gulaal reads in the newspaper that Mota Bha kicked the collector's PA out and if any single person in the village dies of drought Mota Bha will be responsible. Yogesh says that they want something bad to happen in Talsagra so that Mota Bha gets the worst punishment possible, Vasant is shocked. Vasant asks what did they do, maybe what they think is wrong is a misunderstanding, and one man's fault cannot be the whole village's fault. Yogesh says that one man cannot take such a big step without the village's help, anyway Lakha should stay away from this matter since its between them and Talsagra.
Yogesh's father says that Talsagra's name is forbidden here, and whoever takes its name will not be allowed to live in Rashipur, he says this glaring at Vasant. Gulaal tries to lighten the situation and gives Vasant tea, he takes his leave without finishing it.
Vasant calls Paan Baa, she tells him that everyone is saying that Mota Bha will be responsible if anything happens to the villagers, he has 15 days time. Mota Bha is sitting worried in the living room. Kesar hears Vasant's name and runs to talk on the phone. Vasant asks her not to worry, he will fulfill his mission and then return. Kesar takes the phone and talks like a news reporter, Vasant is happy to hear his voice, Kesar asks if he found the water-woman, when will he return, he misses him a lot, Vasant says he will return soon and asks if he is taking care of the village, Kesar says yes, now future news will be with Paan Baa and hands her the phone. I miss all this fun so much, the show has become so serious now. Paan Baa asks him not to worry and to complete his mission.
Paan Baa goes to Mota Bha and tells him Vasant called, Mota Bha says good to hear that he is alive. Sudha complains to Jamna that nobody worries about the house, Paan Baa was telling Vasant to complete his mission. Paan Baa tells Jamna about her call with Vasant. Jamna tells her that she is hurt that Vasant went there and Paan Baa has no qualms about it, Paan Baa tries to tell her that its for the good of the village, Jamna cuts her off that Kanchan's father will drown in that water, she refuses to listen further and says that they have lost their daughter and nobody understands their sorrow, everyone talks about their family, there is no family feeling. Dayi Baa asks Jamna to take control of herself, when utensils knock against each other they make a noise, but when humans do the same relationships break. Everyone loved Kanchan and don't need to prove to her how much.
Gulaal takes Vasant to see her aunt and gives her food. Vasant sees that the house is burnt from the inside. Gulaal tells him that her aunt brought her daughter-in-law with a lot of hope but one day she burned herself, and that night's darkness has not left the walls of the house till date. He asks why. She says that after that what happened they can never forget, they remember the sound of two bullets and found two dead bodies, one of her uncle and the other uncle's son, the two men who took their lives were Talsagra's head Mota Bha and his brother Gheegha, people say they ruined their lives, nobody took the case in the police. Vasant is shocked out of his wits and flashbacks to Gheegha kaka's words at Kanchan's funeral that he will never forgive the people who did this to her. Gulaal tells him that all relations are broken between the two villages, no girl goes to that village from here and neither does any daughter-in-law come here from there.
