Written Update 16 Nov 2010, Episode 2

All the men are at the burning of raamjaliya's dead body, Vasant lights the funeral pyre in tears. Everyone is very disappointed and hopeless. At night Vasant cannot sleep and flashbacks to raamjaliya's talk about his dream about Neerja. At the funeral place Vasant finds a bangle that raamjaliya carried. Kesar runs yelling his name asking if what his friends say is true, that everyone will leave the village and nobody will stop them. Vasant says no, Kesar says what no, who will get water, who will stop them. Vasant says Neerja will get water. Kesar asks who is Neerja.

Mota Bha asks Vasant who is Neerja, which village is she from, is she even there or not, it was just a dream. Vasant asks Paan Baa to convince him. Vasant turns to Dayi Baa, she says that it was just a dream. The villagers express disbelief, Mota Bha says that raamjaliya passed away, now their village will not have water and they need to accept this truth. Vasant asks him to give him one chance, everyone continues to express disbelief, Dushyant makes fun of him and his dream, Vasant says one needs courage to dream, he asks for one chance saying that if he proves to be wrong at least they won't regret not trying this route. Mota Bha asks him to leave it. Vasant insists, but Mota Bha goes inside the house.

Kesar is playing and sees his friends leaving the village with their families. He tries to prevent his friends from leaving, he tells them that Mota Bha and Vasant are doing everything to get water, their parents don't pay heed and leave.

Tantrumy cute Kesar comes and throws stones at Mota Bha's feet angrily. Kesar comes inside and yells at Mota Bha for not doing anything, he is Head of village and keeps telling everyone that they will find water, where is the water, all his friends are leaving the village, he has nobody to play with now, he has become like a train engine without any compartments. Lol Kesar is so hilarious and cute, he is yelling at Mota Bha in front of other panchayat members like such a kid who thinks his father can do anything. He continues that Mota Bha and his talks are useless. Mota Bha looks at him as if he is also feeling helpless. Mota Bha calls him to himself, Kesar picks up the plans on the table (architect plans or something I think) and tears them apart. Mota Bha hits him and he falls, Paan Baa comes and picks up Kesar, Kesar is crying, she takes him inside. The panchayat members leave. Mota bha sits helplessly, Dayi Baa puts her hand on his head, he tells her that Kesar is right, she asks him to trust God.

Vasant tries to find out about Neerja. One villager tells him that 15 years back a couple had come to the priest to name their daughter after she was 5 years old, it was strange since they waited 5 years to name their daughter, the priest suggested the name Neerja. Vasant says that she must be 20 years old now, so the age is correct. Vasant asks the villager for the address of the priest, he says the priest died. He asks him the name of the village the girl was from, he gives him the name.

At night Vasant leaves the house hiding, Reva and Devika see him off. He tells Devika not to misunderstand him, Kanchan was his sister too, she tells him she understands him, he doesn't need to justify himself. He takes his leave. He sees Paan Baa on the terrace who blesses him, its as if she has so much trust in him, he takes his leave of her. Its a very sweet moment, Paan Baa was so close to Vasant and supported him fully, what has happened to these parents for Kesar, why aren't they able to give him the same level of support, he is so lost, Vasant was much more grounded but Kesar's finding out about Dushyant's murder unsettled him and now Gulaal. I think the parents broke after Vasant and were never the same again.

Vasant leaves on the camel with one mission, to find the girl named Neerja.
