I must say your first two chapters have been very gripping and despite what some may call 'short' (I agree readers are greedy and want to lap up as much as they can get hold of and I am such a person when I read), your economical approach to words per chapter is refreshing.

About the two chapters, even though they had no hook linking them together, I found a deep regret in the way you described your protagonist. It was not overt, but a denotative, subtle message screaming 'I am damaged, I have traveled the world and seek for that world beyond right doing and wrong doing to meet you' (One of my many favourite lines by Rumi after Khalil Gibran)

Of course we got a glimpse of both smoke and mirror in the first two parts, I look forward to see how this glass reflects the smoke.

Thank you for all the love and interest in this story.

I know some of you don't like that the chapters are short. I'd be surprised if that wasn't the case - there hasn't been a short chapter I've written in any story that hasn't been questioned for its length. It's something that organically happened with this story and I have no intention to change it - why use two words when one will do? As I said before, a short, short story ;)

I'm not sure if the news about the forum closing is real or an April Fools courtesy of IF but if that is the case, I will move this story to the Fan Fiction forum. I hope you'll all join me there.
