Silvy, how are you find the episodes?I watched the first five episodes. Cast is good but I feel Shrenu overacts as Parvati. A lot of AI addition/VFX effects but they seem too clean in terms of editing.

Child actors do have a good commanding presence, however, I feel there were too many stories running in parallel, Imo. smiley36I felt too much chronological distortions in my face.

Indra dev is really humanized/selfish one of this show but Karan does good in making his role a grey shaded one. smiley36 Not surprised since SKR dayssmiley36Even Achint does good as Diti but her environment is GoT vibessmiley36Karthikeya ki better half, Valli ko bhi dikhadia smiley36thoda jaldi hora h sab kuch lol. smiley36

Hi MJ I Watched All 5 Episodes

This Show Doesn't Appeal To Me Because Of Al And VFX Effects

Shrenu As Parvati Does Over Act

So No Comment On The Child Actors They Are Doing A Good Job

But I Don't Think I Will Stick Around Long Enough To Watch This Show

I managed to watch the first three episodes and... Well ... Not too convinced that I want to continue.

Sorry that I am going to rant and complain but the show gives me stuff to do so... Soo... Here it is...

I loved the effects and music, those parts were a treat to watch...

The kids are lovely but the story is so terribly messy that I don't want to continue... Shrimad Ramayan was bad enough, VH was a disaster and now this show goes beyond that...

Why do they have to portray Karthikeya as some kid with so much family trauma... ? He literally had an existential crisis at every scene... Valli introduced way too soon... Did they even mention where all of this was happening? And why does Indra always have to be portrayed so mean...? Karan did a good job mellowing it down I suppose but the story still pushes him to be a villain. Why is Sachi so scheming as well?

Shiva and Parvati are adorable but... I can't feel the divinity in this series at all. It probably went on a long vacation. Nevertheless I liked the father and son talk... Although story wise it was abysmal... For some reason the show portrays Karthikeya to be born with the sole purpose of vanquishing demons (and what's with Tarakasura? He's in a stasis of some sort absorbing life force of some beings... Did he get the idea from Supreme Yaskin or something?).

And Ganesha is supposed to be born to bring the family together? That's his purpose...? There's so much they can show but they choose to show Shiva's family being traumatised by every other character there.

I liked the portrayal of the six Krithikas. Their make up was beautiful. I wish there was more colour on them...

Diti, although believably ambitious and cruel, gave me a feeling of some sort of Grimm's fairytale queen/witch who got her hands on some Indian clothes and jewellery...

I don't know... I may watch once in a while or if something good turns up but... I am sick of all the nonsensical stories hence will stay away until they run a decent storyline.

Thats what I thought too regarding Valli and Karthikeya's story. The version that I've heard is that Valli and Devasena were reborn to marry Karthikeya most likely in their adulthood so over here, it was like Karthikeya knew about Valli and most likely, figuring the ITV method, will meet when he enters adulthood. smiley39smiley36Now, there could be another version which I'm oblivious too or ignorant of.

There was a scene where Ganesha and Karthikeya met so now that questions my thinking of when did they actually meet? Was Karthikeya present during Ganesha's beheading incident? Or what's the matter? smiley36

Actresses chosen for Krithikas were good and better than Parvati, who's just shown as being selfish/delusional as heck for Karthikeya's love. smiley36Too early to judge actor playing Vishnu but seems like a good potential..but knowing my past experiences with the mythological distortions on ITV, makes just wanna question my patience too for sticking with the show since it seems to backfire here of rushing so many so stories running in parallel lol. smiley36

Again, I'm also ambivalent of sticking around with so many stories running in parallel and the vfx effects rushing from one story to another lol.

Valli shouldn't have existed when Karthikeya was a child...

Although the information I read is ambiguous I can sort of guess...

The versions I read also mention Valli and Devasena were reborn to marry Lord Muruga (another name of Karthikeya) and he himself gave them that boon after the two of them (who were sisters in their earlier life) did severe penance for many years... From what I can understand (I could be wrong...) Karthikeya was brought up by the Krithigas, then came over to Kailasha where he lived for a while before going to war against Surapadma (main demon in Southern tales is Surapadma or Sura and Tarakasura is his younger brother). Considering the fact that he married Deivanai (or Devasena) after the war and then lived for a while in Swarga before seeking out Valli and the fact that one month on Earth is a day in Swarga (if I am not mistaken) Valli must have been born way later... I used to wonder if our legends mention a sort of waiting room or space for souls before they reincarnate... Deivanai must have started her life much earlier than Valli... Where was she all that time... If I am not mistaken, Deivanai is younger than Murugan,so must have been born/found much after his birth... And Valli must have been born much after Devasena was born/found.

I also wondered where Jaya and Vijaya were staying inbetween their incarnations on earth...

A very interesting question, one thing that I have always wondered.

This is another quagmire since Southern tales say Ganesha is older and Northern ones mention Karthikeya to be older.

If we go by the Southern versions, Karthikeya couldn't have been present while Ganesha was beheaded.

I am guessing the two met when Karthikeya came to Kailasa from wherever he was staying with the Krithikas. The mango incident must have happened after this and I am guessing it was before Muruga became a full adult since the deity in Palani resembles and is believed to be a young boy.

Which might mean that elephant headed Ganesha might have been present when Karthikeya was born.

If we go by the Northern tales, Karthikeya might have been a toddler being lovingly raised by the Krithigas while Ganesha was created. Also, this show portrays Ganesha already in the picture helping Vyasa write? What exactly are they discussing? Mahabharata or Ganesha's family history?

For some reason the show makers think making the main characters look like some stereotyped poor daughter in law in daily soaps, regularly bullied but always good and never forgets to forgive every meanie in her life... will be so attractive...

Sorry to be this harsh but it sickens me.

Since when was Goddess Parvathi, mother of the whole universe, oblivious to her own son's distress? Since when did her son, the protector of the Devas, be so distraught enough to have an existential crisis every second of his life...

As if Shiva, Parvati, Skanda, Vinayaka were oblivious to anyone's schemes and would fall prey to their machinations...

To protect my sanity, I might be watching on and off...

I haven't seen Vishnu yet... Will try to look for him. I still don't understand what Diti and Tarakasura are upto...
