Today, on this women's day and on the opening ceremony of thread 2 of 'Binding Ties'😉 I want to share somebody verry precious to me with you guys. My hero.

My Baba is a man of staunch principles. He has fought the system, every single day of his life. He is an honorable man who garners the respect of many prominent people around him.
I adore my father and respect his principles a lot. I can never say no to anything he asks of me.

My Aai on the other hand has been a housewife all her life. She is not highly educated and is a very soft spoken person. And all our life she's listened to our complaints and our cribbings.

During my childhood, as my Baba was fighting his war against the system, he was supended from his post, as the principal of a school he'd helped raise, from a primary level to that of a well recognized high school. All this, because he wouldn't let the committe that headed the school to siphon money from the government grants the school got.The parents of the school gave accolades to the principal of their school, there were articles that ran in the newspaper about him and he was hailed as a hero.

That by the way is just one of the examples of my father's struggles.

During those times of struggle, there was no money to run a household of 4.

That is when my Aai stepped in, started running KG classes through home, gave tutions to younger students. She would sit late in the nights and study, so that she could understand and teach the students.
She put food on the table and she clothed us. She paid our school fees and she did all the household chores. She listened to all our cribbings and loved and nurtured us through it all.

To the world my father is a hero, to me the true hero of our live's story is my mother.

I love you aai.

I want to thank all the wonderful people I met on this thread, because one fine day I woke up and decided, I had a story to share.

More than the amazing accolades I got for this story, I am thankful for the wonderful and amazing friends I met on this forum. I am humbled and in awe of the beauty of the people that reside on this forum.

Welcome everybody to the next phase of "Binding Ties'🤗

Thanks to all the wonderful people who have been with me on this journey so far, and a warm welcome to the newcomers.

About Binding Ties:

This is a story that will make you laugh out loud, cry, get mad, and it will make your heart go DHAK DHAK. But hopefully, it will never bore you.Its got a marathi flavor to it.

It's about the bonds that we form with people during our lifetime. Bonds thicker than blood ties.

You can read short narratives at the end of each update(usually) about particular ideas used in the FF and how I got them. The inspirations that are my crazy friends and family, neighbors, songs and of course the wonderful Maaneet

You will see Dev, Brij, Pari, Adi Pinky and Meera(who by the way is Miri in my story) in completely different roles and I mean really different roles.

You will meet an amazing father in Mohinder Handa.

You will meet Sa, Re, Ga, Ma.

You will of course meet a naughty scheming wonderful Dadi.

Finally you will meet the hero of my story, a, tiger, an alpha male, intense, arrogant yet very protective and his journey of falling in love and with a strong yet insecure vulnerable girl whose heart is as big as the sky beneath which she lives.

You will meet Maan and Geet.

Thanks for sharing a part of your life & struggle with us here.. 🤗

It just affirms the fact that each person is a hero in their own special way. Especially our moms. Her undying Will to always safeguard and protect us from everything and to shower her unfailing and unconditional love on all of her family, evenif it means going through hardships and never ending struggles she Will always be there. She will always hold onto the hope for all good things to come & will be there as a shield standing ahead of us against the world whatever be the situation whenever we need her. 🤗
Even Your Dad has been a Hero who thought about the good of the society inspite of his family having to go through hardships & poverty. It is quite difficult to continue fighting in face of adversities. Proud to know you come from such a courageous & great family. 😃

congratulation on new thread.

I am not very good with praising words but reading your description i must admit it both of your parents are real life hero.

Standing for a good cause is very diffcult in this corrupted system. People who are even good by heart just fail to stand against this system due to problem caused in these type of fights. So, your father is no less than any hero.

Talking about your aai, words will be less to praise her for what she have done. Supporting family financially and running household work together is not an easy task . She gave the much needed support to your father for standing against this system . Because even a fighter have to stop, if his family condition get worse.
Well my hearty salute to such lovely, understanding and strong woman.

just read your first post Nishaji. I must say I am proud to have found such a wonderful friend/bhabhiji/parjaiji. thanks for the share. it is indeed amazing to know that such heroes do exist in this big bad world.

no matter what, a mother's love cannot be beaten. a women comes with so many baggages both mental and physical yet she never complains and goes around to create many miracles around this world. no wonder the scriptures have praised and respected women for all the things they give and rarely take yet somewhere things were misread and misinterpreted along the way 😕. in hope of a new future... Happy International WOMEN'S day!
