Part 2

Inside Handa Residence 7.15 pm

Maan was already out of the Handa house, before Geet could recover and break few of his bones, so she turned to Aditi giving her a deathly glare but before she could unleash her fury on her, Tej who was the first one to recover from the shock shouted at Geet.

"What is all this, Geet?"

Geet continued to glare at Aditi as if she had not heard Tej and gritting her teeth, she bit out "What is all this? What did you tell him?" and before Aditi could respond, Tej pulled Geet by her arm and demanded an answer from her, she jerked his hand, and ignoring him stalked towards Aditi.

This enraged him, and he blamed her for the Khuranas rejecting Aditi.

"Are you happy now ? How could you do this to Aditi and btw why are you asking her , yeh sab tumhari wajeh se hua hain. You are the one to mess up everything ALWAYS."

Geet : "Whatever"

Tej: "Just look at your ladli beti, mom, she is acting as if she did not do anything. Tell us Geet why does Maan Khurana want to marry you"

Geet: "I don't know and I really don't care and just to remind you it was not ME but your beloved sister who was with him ALONE, so use that fat head of yours and ASK her" she retorted

Turning to Mrinalini she said, "Mom I'm leaving."

She started to leave when her dad stopped her.

Mohinder: "But what do we tell the Khuranas?"

She shrugged and left after giving him an incredulous look which meant something like, 'Are you kidding me and anyways not my problem'.

Outside Handa Residence 7.15 pm

Maan sent Savitriji home with the driver; he knew he had very little time ...before his Dadima was back in her element. He drove to his office in the other car. His office, his haven, where he could deliberate over and iron out the rough ends of his already genius and foolproof plan.

His Dadi had bull dozed him to agree to get married and this time there was no escaping the inevitable blunder he was forced to make, but than he was Maan Singh Khurana, with a bit of luck and the sheer brilliance of his gray matter he had turned the tables.

[Flashback- Handa's Residence]

All Maan could think was to run a mile but he was never the one to back out, all he had to do was play his cards well and make Aditi refuse the alliance.

Maan: hi

He waited for a response, but finding none just continued: "Aditi right, well I am not going to mince words.

I am here only because of my Dadi, she liked you but I think before you decide anything you must know what you r getting into -

I am a workaholic, my work comes first the rest doesn't matter.

I don't go to movies or socialize other than business parties.

I don't like anyone interfering in my matters infact my family thinks I am quite a difficult person to be with." He paused, waiting for her to say something but she was still standing the same way, with her head bent just like some doll.

He was at the edge of his patience but still tried one last time,

"Aditi ...do you want to know anything more."

Still no reply.

"Alright than" and started moving towards the door .

Aditi: "Mr. Khurana"

He stopped but did not turn.

"Could you reject me?" she said very softly after mustering some courage.

"What? Are you rejecting me?" He shrieked but his mind was overjoyed at the prospect.

"No, I want you to reject me." She said pronouncing each word separately.

"Why?"

"I ...I .."

"Go on."

"I am in love with someone else, I can't live without him''." she said in one breath.

"You should have informed your parents before calling us here." He was furious but managed not to shout - what fools he had to suffer ...if she had done that than he would have been saved from all this trouble.

"I couldn't, I wanted to but I somehow could not muster the courage..."She was almost in tears.

"Courage" he yelled, "you have the courage to discuss your love life with your prospective groom who is a stranger but can't tell your parents, are you kidding me. You think you r very smart huh; that you can manipulate me, by this sob story of yours, than let me make it clear to you...I very well know how to..."

"Please" she started to cry.

He calmed down, this was what he wanted, he was not going to let this opportunity pass, he was still mulling over how to get the best out of this otherwise embarrassing situation; is when he hit the jackpot.

"Please I am not trying to act smart or manipulate you, I was just not able to tell my parents" she begged and than added almost without thinking, "G suggested that it is better if I tell you and if you r sensible enough than you'll help me."

He narrowed his eyes and she realized what she said.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I was just quoting G."

He nodded in acknowledgement and she relaxed seeing that he was no longer fuming.

"So, will you say no?" she asked hesitantly

"I want to but don't know how; I promised my Dadi I would not reject you." He said more to himself trying to find a way out.

"Than we should call G, she's outside. You know, she is just amazing; she has a solution for everything. She will help you if you ask her nicely, I'll...She trailed off when he gave her one of his all time favourite 'shut up or I'll shut you up' look.

His analytical mind was already on an overdrive, processing the information, drawing inferences and rearranging them to come up with most effective solution, the keyword being 'Long- term benefits'.

And that is when he had his 'Eureka moment'.

Of course, G ...oops Geet , she is the one, the perfect solution to his current problem.

"Sooo...should I call G."

He gave her a dazzling smile, "I'll manage, thanks."

"Shall we go, everyone must be waiting."

"Umm I need to make a phone call , you carry on."

He called and arranged a car to pick him up in under 20 mins, he had to get away from his Dadi, before she kills him after he pulls off this amazing little coup.

Weighing all the pros and cons, he started moving towards the drawing room and joined Dadi and everybody else.

He was awarded an opening by Dadi herself and before getting the ball rolling, he looked up at Geet.

He saw her giving him a scorching glare, he could not have asked for a better omen!

And then he went for the kill.

[Flashback ends.]

He wanted to celebrate, as always he had come up with a winner,

1) He could have easily refused to marry Aditi after telling the real reason to his Dadi, but that would not have helped him in anyways. In fact his Dadi would come up with atleast a dozen Aditi - clones in no time, and since he had already agreed to marry, he would have to meet them and surely not all of them would have boyfriends they would want to marry------- definitely a problem than a solution.

2) He needed a girl that his Dadi would disapprove of.

3) His Dadi had openly disliked Geet, that girl just did not fit into her imagination of an ideal bahu--------- Dadi will definitely reject her.

4) He would openly flaunt his love for Geet vowing to marry no one else, so now there were two possibilities :

a)Dadi would still not agree----------- he will feign a heartbreak and he would get a reprieve for at least 2-4 yrs ,it's difficult to forget your first love after all.

b) Dadi will agree-------------- Does not mean that the Handa's will, with him rejecting one daughter and wanting to marry other... they sure will not let it pass. Chalo, his Dadi will somehow persuade them but Geet, she would never agree and even if she did want to, he will not let her

"She will help you if you ask her nicely"

Nicely ???????? Let's see.

He was going to be the biggest MCP Geet would ever meet...She is never marrying him.

Result : Same as 4a

There was no way his plan was going to fail, with that thought, he decided to get some work done before calling it a day. His cellphone buzzed just then, it was his Dadi and a wicked smile crept up his face, as he remembered her stunned look. Today he had achieved what nobody else, maybe with the exception of his Dadaji could have ever imagined to do, he had rendered the indomitable Mrs Savitri Khurana speechless. All his previous accomplishments paled in front of this 'out of the world' feat. He cut the call and left for home.

Khurana Mansion

When he reached home Maan saw his usually calm and composed Dadi, frantically pacing in the hall. The moment she saw him she pounced at him

"yeh sab kya tha Maan, aapne humse waada kiya tha ki aap is shaadi se bhaagne ki koi koshish nahin karenge." [you promised you would not run away from this marriage]

"Main kaahan bhaag raha hoon, Dadi infact maine Khud is shadi ke liye haan ki." He said coolly.

"Aapko kya lagta hain Maan, ki hum naadan hain, hum sab samajh rahe hain ki aap kya karna chah rahe hain"[you think I'm a fool, I know what you r trying to do]

"What am I trying to do" he said with a poker face

"You' r trying to avoid getting married" she declared.

"But I want to marry Geet, didn't I make myself clear at the Handa's" he replied trying to not lose his cool.

"So you want to marry Geet, may I ask why?" she demanded.

"Because I like her" he countered.

"You just saw her today for the first time. " she snapped.

"Haven't you heard Dadi.'love at first sight'." he quipped.

"Oh! to aapko Geet se dekhte hi pyaar ho gaya aur yeh aapko immediately realize bhi ho gaya, bade fast hain aap " she taunted, but he ignored

"Ha Dadi, I know it's difficult to believe, but imagine I was talking to Aditi but all the time I was thinking about Geet, and I realized that she was the only one who had this effect on me. " he said looking all lost, which scared Dadi, she was sure he was just playing games, but then she had never seen Maan like this. What if...??? No, no it can't be ...

"Maan, aap mazak kar rahein hain, hai na? You cannot marry Geet." She almost pleaded.

"Kyun Geet mein kya problem hain?" he asked.

"Problem! Ek ho to bataye...For starters she does not even look like a girl." she was getting livid now.

"Dadi!"

"Maan, Geet Khurana khandaan ki badi bahu kabhi nahin banegi, "she declared.

"Aapko Khurana Khandaan ke liye bahu chahiye, ya mere liye meri life partner?" he was annoyed.

"Dono[both] , lekin Geet , she is not fit to be either, issiliye aap yeh khayal apne dil se nikaal de." She insisted.

"I'll marry only Geet and no one else." He proclaimed

She was taken aback.

He had never seen her so dejected and for the first time felt bad for doing this to her. Closing his eyes for a moment he took a deep breath as he said 'Good Night, Dadi' and left for his bedroom.

I'm damn sure that Maan got to know abt Aditi and Aditya and that's why he asked Geet's hand .😆 This one reminded me of Roja movie!!!
