Maan indirectly understood the turmoil Geet was in yet Meera was her best friend

I forgot to mention I was 😃 when Maan was searching for her in the office

I lived my past 5 years life at the window (could not copy & paste the last quote) - 😭 this killed me poor Geet, its so upsetting to see how much a woman sacrifices to make her marriage work

When she asked him to take her back to NYC (it did remind me of the first version of NYC) there was a mix of the old version with the new - brilliantly done 👏

How can she not have a feeling of rejection?

I agree she was having a feeling of giving up the fight within her, but continued hoping against hope so that things will turn around for her & Dev. Also understood that she didn't have any emotional connect, but in views of the society, its always taken - its always the woman who is at fault (at least the society in which she's raised up).

It was the 1^st time she ventured out of someone else's shadow to achieve something on her own, find a footing for self, make an identity of her own. But this endeavour might be seen as a thorn & lead to clipping these feathers of freedom away from her. It will in itself be the cause of putting the blame on her, by her near relations as well as people in general stating that - as she left for a job when she should have been with her husband, subservient to him'. like that's the only role (identity) a woman is supposed to have in her life.

...For a moment, he closed his eyes then - or for an eternity - and felt without having seen her anguish, her tormenting collapse into oblivion and heard the screams that must have resounded in her silence.

How much he must be hurting within, knowing & feeling her pain... That he couldn't be there for her at the time she needed him.

...Taking a deep breath, he dispelled in his head, his need to sit down. Just one breath so that he could try to talk himself of out of that plunge she was asking of him.

But then decided that now she won't be alone, as its time to keep up to the promises made between them

To him it was obvious that Meera wouldn't see it both ways: her urging that was either the reasoning in her madness or the insanity that came with the dawning of any reality.

He just can see through her, he does have this soul-deep connection with her, that even though they know each other for a few days they have bonded better than any friendship could bond.

"Personal? Complicated" he scoffed, perhaps angered the most that she made him to be an outsider. "Aren't you just running ahead now?"

Her eyes flickered open, and even as she sat without meeting his gaze, he could tell she knew precisely what he'd meant with the last of his words.

"Looks like its either I'm leading and you are falling behind. Or you are too ahead of me and I'm left trailing after you...I think, we should walk alongside each other..."

He just doesn't know how to let her know the anguish he's feeling seeing her the way she is now... He wants to remind her that he's promised to her - that he will always be there & that even if she doesn't want it, he is within her circle

May be it was the closed window. Or it was a door that had opened, but she wanted a leave from where they were. A permanent leave from the only place that could have shaped that unrelenting resolve.

Loved this paragraph... She's made a decision ( though I know it will still be hurting & difficullt... ) but he has given her that hope for further survival...Even though someone has closed any possible window for her to even accept in his life but yet Maan's opened the doors to himself for her forever without having any expectations.

H, I wont lie to you. I had for some reason hoped that she would not go to Toronto, but I suppose it was necessary...

I liked that she knew that she was not hurting because Dev left her, but she was unsure as to what she was feeling. She just needed to talk to him once.

I think it was important for her to know what she was giving up. The minute she went there, she knew she was not giving up anything... and that there was nothing there for her to loose.

Maan and Meera's responses to her situation were very realistic. Absolutely touching and lovely.

I have still not caught up with the updates from the beginning as I had said but I thought of commenting on this before the time is up...

While a few readers think Dev heartless, I think that this mail was actually due for a long time.With the attitude that Dev has shown over the years, remaining aloof yet never explaining why, could we actually expect him to suddenly come over at Karwa Chauth and declare that it was better they split?So the email breakup is not quite a shocker. On the other hand there is one positive point I see in him (I dont know why I am feeling generous), you had mentioned he had a unique zeal in helping Geet resume her studies and try standing on her own feet. I have a feeling he would have encouraged her for this job as well. And when he sees that she can finally move on from him, he cuts the thin thread that had bound them.

While I feel terrible for Geet, I feel relieved too. She was quite aware of this non-existent relationship. They become habits one cant let go off even if the relationships stop working after some time.But I am surprised at her decision to come back. Why didnt she feel that need to have the final dialogue?

I wonder what would have happened if the situation didnt turn out this way, and they would have really met Dev. How would things have been then..

I also cant help but think that Maan has been very understanding( can I say too much?). Dont pounce on me, just wondering if he felt a slight bit happy as well?

mayb coz he is speaking more than b4...n we r getting to read his thoughts...

her longing...her reaching out...her faith...she is who she is...

her window...if she can still call it that...made her take the decision...it alll came flashing in front of her eyes...
