You captured that so well. The crossroads that people find themselves in. Someone very dear to me went thru' this and I can tell that you have their feelings spot on. As hard as it was for me to support her, the pain that Meera feels for her is also perfectly written.

I loved the original version of this also. The realisation of how she was forced to marry a total stranger and come into a foreign land makes me understand how unnerving it is for her to feel everything that she is feeling for Maan now. This is the first time she is feeling all these things. The part about habits and how people fall into them when there is no other basis of their being together, the long letters home of her routine so as to reassure her parents; all the little things to make themselves believe in the land of happy ever afters. Truly how young and naive she is, it makes me weep for her sorrow and anguish.

I think I nominated this Geet on almost all the award threads because this part where she makes something of herself after being broken so much truly appeals to me the most. Thanks for the update.

*sighs* this Maan is too perfect.

He seems not happy, but relieved that Dev is no longer in her life. He wants to help her become her own person without being defined as Dev's wife, or have a part of him nag away at her brain even during his absence.

I loved the description you used of the sunrise - signifying a new, fresh start in life for Geet. And Maan is right beside her, witnessing the sunrise, being her shadow in her discovery to find herself.

Her fingers nestling into the shape of his hand & Maan notices this & wants to act upon it - is that symbolism for Geet not yet fully realising the deeper connection they share, but Maan is somewhat aware of this?

A beautiful update as always H, NYT never fails to take my breath away.

I also cant help but think that Maan has been very understanding( can I say too much?). Dont pounce on me, just wondering if he felt a slight bit happy as well?

I hope you won't ignore the other updates, given that you have read the old version. There are many new scenes here.

A take that is uncommon on this thread and I like it already.

I agree with you on Dev. There has been only one drawback to his long drawn strategy of snipping that thread when she can start being independent: the time that is perceived to have been invested into the relationship.

I think many of them have answered your question about not having had that final dialogue. She will give her answers too, but that is a few updates away. You needn't wonder for long on what might have happened had she met Dev. That too will come up.

Ah! now whether Maan is happy about this? That is for you tell me after reading the future updates :) 😊

Observing his hand in close proximity to the hers just about came full circle, don't you think?😉

The last time around was her turn to notice his on the chair. Yeah! I'm like that - I like to link up scenes from across updates. You just have to look close. There are so many hints. 😛

Taking someone's breath away...Aah! the old timers would know this too. You just gave away a key dialogue...albeit a cliched one.

👏 I didn't identify the connection between the earlier hand movement & this one, but now you've mentioned it, it most definitely clicks - I love their gestures towards each other - they are so small yet mean & say so much...

I didn't mean to show off. Its all right, I guess. Not a lot of readers notice these things in my stories either ways.

The dialogue: There are no proposals, or "I love you"s in NYT. Only random declarations. The line in your comment is one such impulsive admission.

Nothing has been posted there yet. I don't plan to until at least some of you finish commenting on the last update. 😛

I have made 65% of 1238 comments on this thread. Hope you are not going to let that happen in the upcoming threads too. Its not even 1 author comment : 1 reader comment ratio. That tells me what a jabber mouth I have been. So its time, to sit back and watch what you have to say for a while. (No threats, just another experiment...)
