@ Nargis: Yeah it was fun shopping! What would have been more fun was that if Maan was there to carry the bags!!! 😆 I abuse him so much!! I'm sure he'll get even when he gets the chance! 😆 But in the mean time, I'm enjoying having the upper hand!

Listen sweety, I didn't a masters in engineering just like that. I noticed very well that you were not quite the same after seeing Vicky. And Abs being Abs has eyes of a hawk, and teh stubborness of a bull since she is a taurus! You'll tell me sooner or later, as afterall you know I'm a soon to be Khurana! 😊

Chapter 17

Nargis glared at him and had made up her mind to give a few choice words to her assistant for letting him in without any announcement, though knew it must have been this rogue's charms working anyway; could not blame the girl anyway.

Vicky entered with a bouquet of flowers and a gift in his hands. Nargis looked at him silently vowing not to speak more than necessary. Vicky said Hi sweetheart! softly. I missed you! how are you?

Nargis lost her temper just then. You moron! You nincompoop! You audacious, good for nothing creep! What are you doing here? Why have you come? To gloat? To see if your conquest is completely degenerated into a putty you can mold to whims and fancies? Mr Vikram Singh Khurana, you get out of here this minute, I don't want to see your face ever again!

Vicky moved forward, putting the flowers and gift on her desk and just when he was about to hold her shoulders, she roared, Don't you dare touch me! You 'ba***d! you think you can just show up after a week and take up from where you had left off? I said get out of here!

Vicky had never had to work this hard at explaining himself to anyone before in his life, especially a woman, a thought and in a fit of sudden anger, he almost went away. But calmed down, immediately thinking of how she made him feel and what she meant to him. Okay so he had been the first rate fool but he had not told her I love you in vain. He did love this fiery wildcat. She was the only woman he had said I love you too and he will be damned if he was going to let that go away.

Vicky let Nargis take out all her angst. He didn't leave but waited a few minutes looking at her after she had told him to get out! Oh he was not leaving. He just whispered I Love You! when she was spent and sat down in the chair, moving towards her finally.

She slumped in her chair, and said putting her head back. Oh stop it Vicky! With a catch in her voice, You don't mean it. You don't even know the meaning of the word. I don't know what you have come here for, but say whatever you have to say and leave. I have really had enough.

Vicky then knelt in front of her, not touching her but near for her to feel his body heat. Nargis, I am sorry, really sorry for not getting in touch with you. I wanted to so many times; I even dialed your number, came outside your house but went away. Nargis then slowly sat up with questioning eyes, why? I have waited every night for you, for you to call me, come to me, something. Vicky put his head on her lap and hugged her around the waist. I have wanted to talk to you but I have been stuck love. Its family, so I didn't think it right to involve you in it. Its Maan and Daadi, he said.

Nargis had still not touched him even though she didn't protest to his holding her. He seemed in pain. Maan she said. What about Maan. What has he got to do with you not calling Vicky. Just tell me, its over and I will understand. I am a big girl who does not need the sweet talk or excuses, just say it plain. Remember I met Abs this afternoon and it didn't seem like anything was wrong with the wedding plans.

Vicky then not liking the way the things had taken turns, suddenly got up. He turned to the window and said. Go ahead think the worst of me and no Maan has nothing to do directly. But it has to do with my mother and my grandmother. You don't know a thing about my family and maybe I should keep it that way and then made to turn and go. Nargis then put a hand on his arm to stop him.

What do you mean your mother and your grandmother? Everything alright? Vicky didn't turn but she would feel something was wrong and went around him to stand in front of him to see him with tear filled eyes, which he blinked as soon as he saw her. She was feeling very contrite at what was happening and said, Vicky I want to know what is going on. Lets go from here. This is not the place to talk things out.

For once, Nargis felt, Vicky didn't care if he was being manhandled or dominated. He seemed to be far away somewhere. She gave him a glass of water to compose himself and then both left. Nargis picked up the flowers and the gift enroute to the door.

Nice to see how the relationship is slowly developing!

Hmm, Vicky is so easily able to melt Nargis! 😆

If it was me and Maan, I'd give him a tough time, by just walking away in fury not wanting to hear bakbak. 😆 Like I did in Paris!

Though I do love the choice of words: nincompoop!

Chapter 18

Just as Nargis and Vicky reached the main entrance to her office, they saw Abs enter. Vicky had been holding Nargis' elbow and he immediately let go when he saw Abs coming towards them.

Arre Vicky! Fancy meeting you here. Mein to Nargis ko lene aayee thi, what are you doing here? She looked at both of them with narrowed eyes and realized that the uneasiness she had seen in both of them had been because they seem to be involved. Even now, they looked as if they had been caught red handed. But with what, wondered Abs and decided to find things out. She had come to Nargis because she had felt something wrong with Nargis at lunch today and now seeing Vicky here, her doubts seemed not unfounded.

Nargis answered saying Uh! As she tried moving a bit away from Vicky. Vicky who now saw that it was probably futile trying to fool Abs said, Abs, you caught us! Putting his hands up. The prankster was back suddenly. He laughed and put his arm around Nargis' waist and said. She is the one driving me crazy these last few days. He looked at Nargis and said come on darling! Admit it! Abs is too smart not to see the flowers and the gift right!

Abs laughed out and said wow! You two sneaky people. How long? Looking from one to other. Nargis embarrassed looked down and Vicky always the one who brazened things out, said. Oh! She is driving me crazy ever since I met her in Paris.

Abs is like Paris? You too? Vicky do tell what happened, eager to know everything about them. Vicky said..sure bhabhi but lets go somewhere else. This is too public even for me, winking. Nargis could not believe the transformation that comes over Vicky. He was so somber sometime back now he is as if nothing had happened. She still did not know what to make of all this.

She did not want even Abs to know everything, so nudged Vicky and said, Uh! Abs there is nothing much to say! We met, there was attraction but there is nothing much beyond it. You know how Vicky is. He just loves to create stories and play pranks and he is doing just that. He had come to tell me how much fun he had when we had met in Paris and that's all.

Vicky was astounded. It was usually him who did this. It was him who brushed relationships off. Why was Nargis doing this? He didn't understand, just some few minutes ago she was different. He did not know what to say for a change. He let it pass. Changing the subject he said, As the lady said there is nothing I can say now is there. So Abs, where are you taking Nargis. Abs said oh! I was looking at going to this jeweler for some sets I will need. Do you want to join? Vicky said, No! you two carry on. I shall see you later bhabhi, Nargis. Gave a nod and then walked off.

Abs now that Vicky had gone told nargis, okay the jewelers was a fib. Now lets go to my place, I have something I want to show you and took Nargis to her car saying leave your car we will come back for it.

Let me just call Maan and let him know where I am and we will go. She called Maan, Nargis moved away a bit to give her privacy. She told Maan, come with Vicky to my place in an hour or so. No don't ask any questions. Just come. Alright and cut the call and both Nargis and she went over to her car and drove to her apartment.

Once in, she made coffee for both of them, got some cookies out on a plate, settled in the couch face to face with Nargis with both legs tucked under and said.

Now out with it! What is with both of you? Nargis started saying No! nothing! But Abs stalled her by saying No don't Nargis! I saw you two. I know something is hurting you and that was the reason I came back. Now wont you tell this friend of yours, new as we are, what is troubling you?

Nargis seeing her warmth, felt her tears run down her cheeks. She said. Oh! I donno! I am so confused. I felt Vicky loved me but he is so contradictory. I feel one minute everything is fine and then next minute Wham! He does an about turn. He is so..uhhh! she put both her hands up in the air in a frustrated action. Abs said. I know what you mean. These Khurana men are a bag of contradictions. But tell me, do you love him? Nargis looked through the misty eyes and said. Yes! I do! But I don't think its any use. He thinks everything is just a game. Play and move on.

Abs said well! I have heard Maan say that he is very frivolous where relationships are concerned but last few days I have seen Vicky in a subdued, reflective mood and had wondered what was up and now I know what it was. I think even he does not understand the extent to which he loves you.

Why don't we do something to bring him to his senses?

How asked Nargis. what makes you think he is serious about me, that I am not just one of those women he dates and then leaves.

He has been impossible to work with this week. He seemed off. I could not put a finger on what had happened and frankly I had for some time thought he was not happy with me and maan, you know, our relationship. But he is his usual self with me, if not with Maan, so I felt there was something else bothering him. I know he has something going on with Maan. Once I while entering Maan's office, I had heard him say no I will not let that happen but they had both clamed up on me so I don't know what they were talking about. Something is there and you are part of it I feel.

Nargis still kept on shaking her head and the tears would not stop. Abs, went over and hugged her tight. She let Nargis pour her heart out via tears. She knew how it felt to not know what to do. She had had her moments with Maan and she knew Nargis needed a friend as Adi had been hers. Nargis after being spent of all the tears, said, I didn't know loving someone could hurt so much.

Just as Nargis had wiped her tears and washed her face and joined Abs again. She heard the door bell ring and saw Abs go to the door.

Sherlock Holmes ki Nani-----> Abs Verma 🤣

Now that Abs is in her detective mode, she will have the Khurana men spill out the truth, even if it means doing her dramatics as a drama queen!😉

Ah Khurana men= bag of contradictions! So true and apt!

Though I do think they have to be grateful to have been visiting Paris! Paris mein toh inki nikal padi!🤣🤣

Jewellery shopping toh Dadi, Maan, aur Vicky ke saath karoongi, aur uske baad unn dono ki sherwanis bhi leni hai!!!

Hmm, Abs is turning into the perfect eldest Khurana bahu no? Handling everyone including her future devarani! 😆🤣
