w.r.t. Geet, its a case of 'might is right' here. The family, esp. the grandfather are very well aware that they messed up, big time. They're just trying to blame it all on the girl, to avoid any finger-pointing at them

Coming to yr post.....Honour is important!!! Very Important!! It's a sort of proof of wat type of family u com from....and everything in this world goes on reputation and good name!!

We all know wen it comes to issues such as marriage, business etc....Everyone searches for the best n 'cleanest' name!!

Hwevr, It is th MISUSE of it that is 'Suicidal'!!!

Geet's family are a mixture!!! I hav yet to com across a character such as Vrij!!! But wat they did with Geet in not finding out about Dev's Family was wrong!!

However Geet not comprehending that Dev has used her I found unrealistic, i have seen, heard n still doing so of marriages where Men N women hav gone back to bangladesh, got married to someone there, n left them!!! N because it has become a norm everywhere........pple understand straight away wat has hapened!!!

And due you know the saddest thing is th parents or family members of the girl/boy from bangladesh are not worried of the fact that their children are suffering......they feel regret that their children haven't been taken abroad & then left by their spouses!!!

Honour & women are a very fragile thing!!! I cud see why her family was so ashamed of seeing her in Maan's arms!! Once a woman has that 'taint' to her name.........it affects her, her family...her children n so on etc!!

Sometimes our families are understanding......but societal thinking you cannot change!!! N how many mouths are you going to stop!!

Geet family (ie her grandfather) was wrong in not listning to his own son's doubts.....Also without explaining to her what has hapened n jst forcing her to remove the signs of her marriage was anpther sign of misusin honour!!!

I com from a very honour conscious family!!! Our every step, every word is under microscope!!! Yet, my family are complete opposite to Geet's!!

Well...I understand your opinion, but let's say that I'm a feminist! :D

Societal change, however slow, needs to be brought about! And as I said, honour is a private thing, not a certificate! Society should have NO SAY in what I choose to do in my personal life...people need to stop interfering in private matters!

Societal mindset needs to be worked upon, and this horrible attitude has to be changed. It will take time to eradicate this dirt, but it needs to be done!

I understand what you mean, and I respect it, but the thing is that just because a woman's "honour", or rather the protection of it is said to be the license to her happiness, we can't accept it and shove it under the carpet!

Women should be judged by their personality, and not by how many boys they have been seen with. I hope I put my point across. No offence sweetie.
