@kripsy...yeah, thanks for pointing it out...and you're right! It's a first that all the men in her family are to blame! I guess it must've been like that many times before as well, but sadly they're all so egoistic that they refuse to accept that. Unfortunately for them and fortunately for the whole female kind, this time the mistake is so big that it's glaring them in the face...and I'm glad that daarji at least accepted the fact that he was wrong.
Brij needs electric shocks, frankly...because the proof of his own weakness lies in the fact that he physically abuses not only women, but whoever dares to disagree with him. He has a major ego problem, and I think he needs immediate treatment for that. In his eyes, he's always correct, and this sort of complacency is not only disgusting, it is unhealthy...for society as a whole.

Khusboo, technically, the marriage is stands annulled because Dev was already married. Legally, Geet would not gain much on that. But she can sue him for cheating.

Sad but true, Honor is more important than a girl's life. No wonder, there is a spate of honor killings these days. Let alone rural areas, even the educated urban families rather brush things under the carpet than fight for what is right.

Ritika...that's true...but this concept needs to be changed. This mindset needs to be changed.
Women need to be respected for who they are...honour is a personal thing, not something to be advertised! This has to be understood!

You know, there was a post made long back regarding an issue very similar to this...there were some really good things said there...if you're interested, do let me know...I'll give you the link to it.

Khusboo, the mindset needs to change, but over the years, it hardly has. Women are still treated as objects. As for honor, the interpretation gets twisted as per convenience. And women often face the brunt. Dev is the evil guy here. And the family is to blame for Geet's current situation. But the poor girl gets the blame for everything.

Sure I would love to read the post. Please do send me the link.

@Ritika...no one but the family is to blame for this current situation! They forced her to marry when she kept on saying that she didn't want to do so, and now the groom has turned out to be a fraud...so it IS their fault!
Do read it...I'm sure you''ll find it interesting!

Very interesting and sensible post Khushboo, and welcome to the forum!
First of all, I think the whole idea of family honour and a girl's honour is an important highlight that the show is putting across to the viewers. The idea of honour for a family or for girls has always been part of Indian culture, so its good that the show is looking at different (mostly negative) aspects for protecting and saving this thing called honour.
Honour is important to Geet's family no matter what, but honour is the last thing on Geet's mind at the moment. She is frantically wanting to find her husband and is willing to go to any lengths. I lovee how Geet is standing up to her family and giving them a piece of her mind. Although she's not accepting the reality that Dev has betrayed her at the moment, but very soon she will be realizing the truth. My heart goes out to Geet that she has to go through these tough times and face such a dirty betrayal, but I hope she gets the justice she deserves by fighting for herself and teaching Dev a well-deserved lesson!
PS. - I was just going through the replies and I realized in the first 2 pages, there are some replies made in Bengali! Funny, because I'm Bengali and I understood it. 😆 Surprising, because first time I came across someone replying in Bengali.

@Dangelz.....thanks for expressing your views! Well firstly Geet needs to realise it, and then her family has to understand. She will fight for it from where we see it...I hope she gets her due from Dev.
Also, I'm glad to know that you're a bengali too! I've not found many bengalis around here!!! *jhapiz*

Hi Khushboo...Nice post😃

Just want to reiterate one thing about the highlight above....I would like to think it is actually the other way round because I don't think Geet has anything to do with Dev anymore other than giving him back every pain in multifold.......I really hope Dev gets his dues from Geet...I really really hope he gets severely punished for his horrid deeds....For that not only Geet but her entire family needs to come together...Otherwise Geet will first have to fight her own family and then if she remains alive she will be able to think of anything else....I guess the people who engage themselves in such shameful acts actually consider all these factors and that's why they pataofy village girls....Sad but its a fact...people prefer to die rather than loose their honor....they don't believe in living and winning back the honor ...

PS: I went back and read again...did you just call Dev her husband???🤢....Please yaar...he is NOT....he was already married....😵
