PART 1 - The Apology
Amritsar's winter chill was nothing compared to the frostiness in Geet's heart. It had been weeks since she'd left Delhi, determined to put the painful memories of Maan Singh Khurana behind her. Yet, fate had a way of testing her resolve.
Unbeknownst to Geet, Maan had been searching for her everywhere. His guilt and regret had been eating away at him, and he knew he had to make amends. He was devastated after losing her. When he finally discovered her whereabouts, he devised a plan to get close to her again.
--------------‐------
Maan Singh Khurana stood at the gates of Masi's house in Amritsar, his heart a battlefield of emotions. The familiar ache in his chest, the guilt, the pain, and the hope that had refused to die—he felt it all. Today, he wasn’t Maan Singh Khurana, the powerful businessman, the MD of Khurana Constructions. Today, he was simply a lover , masked in the disguise of humility, hoping that Geet would look past the facade and see the man who was still deeply in love with her.
It had been weeks since he had last seen her, but her image had never left his mind. He had caused her so much pain. He had pushed her away, left her in the cold, and for what? His own insecurities, his inability to fight the demons from his past. But now, standing here, all that mattered was one thing—Geet's forgiveness.
He ran a hand through his hair, trying to steady himself. His plan was simple: make her hear him out, make her understand how sorry he truly was. But he knew her well enough to know that it wouldn't be easy. Geet had always been strong, unyielding when it came to matters of the heart. And right now, her heart was locked away, the key thrown far beyond reach.
Maan arrived at Geet's masi's house in Amritsar, dressed in a simple driver's uniform with a turban. He introduced himself as "Balwant" the new driver, and began working for Geet's masi. He is careful to hide his face in Geet’s presence. Geet, oblivious to the driver's true identity, treated him with indifference.
Days turned into weeks, and Maan, as Balwant, worked tirelessly to gain Geet's trust. He'd drive her around the city, listening intently to her conversations, and trying to gauge her emotions, not giving her a hint of his identity. But Geet remained aloof, her heart still hurting from the wounds Maan had inflicted. Geet who could always sense his presence around, wrote it off as missing him too much.
