CHAUHAN SAHAB

KMA Ambala

An officer stepped out of his jeep outside the academy and walked inside. He wore casual clothes and had long hair. As he was walking towards the academy he remembered many old memories of his time in the academy. How his first day had been in front of BC and then how he had tried to escape from Major Nair's strict policies.

Inside he stopped in front of the flame and saluted it. At that time he remembered saluting it on his graduation with his fellow cadets. Two in particular who were his batch mates as well as best friends.

The officer knocked on Brigadier Chandoke's office.

"Come in" BC ordered

He stepped inside and saluted. "Captain Abhimanyu Chauhan reporting sir!"

"At ease captain. How can I help you?"

"Sir, I've been given special orders to take over Captain Rajveer's case."

BC became worried about why there were sudden changes in the orders. "I've got the best team set out for this case, so why are there new orders?"

"Sir, you'll have to discuss that with the higher authorities, for the time being you'll have to allow me to take over." Abhimanyu gave him an eager look as if he wasn't going to take a no for an answer. He had worked hard for days to get his hands on this case and now finally permission had been granted. He knew that if anyone could find Rajveer then it was him.

Chandoke had no choice but to give Abhimanyu permission to carry on. If the case went out of his hands then everything would be revealed. He knew that Captain Chauhan was one of the best soldiers who would do anything to get the truth out, even if it was buried 6 feet under. He decided to find out from above about why this order was passed and how he can take it away from Abhimanyu again.

"Sir, with your permission I would like to investigate in the academy, but with low profile. I would like to appear as the new music teacher."

"Permission granted but don't abuse the power you've been given Captain. My eyes will constantly be on you."

Abhimanyu took his leave and walked around the academy, familiarizing himself with everything all over again. He remembered his days with Rajveer and Navin, of how they stood behind each other in almost everything. Rajveer had always been the strongest one of them three so both went to him for support whenever they felt they were loosing out on a drill or were failing their exams.

Now Rajveer had lost out and it was Abhimanyu's turn to support him. When he got the news about Rajveer's disappearance he immediately became curious as to what was going on. He investigated on everything, but he knew that many things were being foiled. His friend was not a traitor. He knew it. When he didn't believe that Navin was a traitor then he was not prepared to believe that Rajveer was a traitor either. "Mere dost, hum jaante hai ke aap kabhi is desh ke khilaaf qadam nahi utha enge. Where have you been lost? I must find you." He blew under his breath and walked on further towards Rajveer's room. He had requested that he get his room so he could search for any proof Rajveer had left before he went on that mission.

He was lucky because he found a letter which had his name on it – "Chauhan Sahab".

end of part guys.

TRUE FEELINGS

'You'll probably be reading this letter once I'm gone. There are many things left undone by me which have to be fulfilled otherwise my mission would be incomplete. Chauhan sahab I'm telling you all the important things that you should know. Why I'm not there with you and what must have happened.'

Abhimanyu continued to read Rajveer's letter and he became shocked to find so many things he was unaware of. He did realize that his friend was stuck into such a web from which it was hard to get out of. The mission was just a cover up for something else. Near the end the letter said:

'This information I gave you must remain confidential because I'm afraid they will do the same thing to you that they have done to me. You're the last hope who can bring justice to our friend Navin. Both of us have gone and now you're the only one standing worthy enough for this task. I know you will definitely accomplish it. That is the reason why I told you all of this.

Another thing you need to know is that there's only one person who will truly support you in this mission, and that is Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia. Yes you're thinking right. She is Navin's sister. Uske under josh hai or junoon jiskee wajese wo yaha academy me aayee apne bhai kee begunahee saabit karne. I tried my best to help her reach her goal but now I'm gone leaving her all alone. Chauhan Sahab I want you to take care of her and complete what I had started.'

Abhimanyu needed some time to think over what he just read and make sense of it. He read the letter over and over again just to make sure he didn't miss anything out or missed any hidden meanings. Everything was loud and clear. Now he had to find Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia to get answers of the other story.

Military infirmary, Ambala

"Alekh, I don't know why I'm feeling that Captain Rajveer wanted to say something to me". Naina's eyes were moist after remembering that last moment with Rajveer, of how he looked at her with helpless eyes.

Most of the time, Alekh always use to figure out other people's feelings without them actually revealing anything. By now he had known Naina that well to understand her dilemma. "Captain Sir hamesha tujhse kuch kehna chahte the per tu hij onkee baat nahi suntee thee. Naina when a person is on the verge of dying they always seek comfort from those that are very close to the heart. He was looking at you."

"Tu kehna kya chahta hai Alekh?" she didn't want to hear what her heart was telling her.

"You know exactly what I'm saying. The care and affection he has shown you can't only be because you're his protg and he's your mentor. There's something deeper there under the surface which you know exists. You've to accept it, and then only will you find Captain Rajveer."

Naina thought over all the times she had shared with Rajveer since the day she entered the academy. The time, when he helped her, through her drills and how he boosted her most of the times when she was down. The way he used to say 'I believe in Cadet Naina ah Singh' always brought a smile on her face because of the sparkle which appeared in his eyes. There wasn't any time when Rajveer left her support, even when after the mentorship camp he was sent to the solitary confinement, and how he had begun avoiding her, she knew he was just trying to protect her. But she couldn't think any further because it would be improper for both of them. "Nahi Alekh, is ke aage kuch mat sochna. There can't possibly be anything more. You don't know what he has done, I'm sure you'll change your opinion after I tell you." She narrated the story of Rajveer killing Navin and how he had told her about it just before going off to the mission. She even told him about how she had the intention to kill Rajveer, but something inside her stopped her.

"Wo tera dil tha, jisne tereko aisa qadam uthaanese roka. Chalo maanliya ke Captain Sir ne tere bhai ko maara, but think why did he choose that time to tell you about it. He knew he was going on a dangerous mission and anything could happen to him. He wanted to tell you the truth before he died. That shows deep affection Naina. Apun jaanta hai ke yeh ghalat hoga per dil kee dunya me koi sahi or ghalat nahi hota. You'll have to accept your feelings for Captain Rajveer, in order to find him. Tera pyaar hee onhe waapis leaasakta hai.

Why was it hard for Naina to accept this truth? She had known this fact from the time she had seen that look in his eyes but she was too involved in other thoughts to give it another thought. Alekh was telling her the truth and it was time she started accepting her true feelings. &nb sp;

NAINA'S TRUST

Naina kept on thinking over Alekh's words 'tera pyaar hee onhe waapis leaasakta hai'. She began to realise that she had been in love with Rajveer for a long time. It just needed an extra boost to come out. It was love only which had allowed her to trust him, respect him and care for him. Now that he was gone her heart felt empty and it ached. She longed for him. Tears kept rolling out of her eyes of guilt that why couldn't she do anything to save him.

Dr. Shalini came inside Naina's room and applied her daily check ups.

"Maam, when can I leave?" Naina was too eager to leave now. She knew that once she gets the green signal then first thing she is going to do is go out there to search for her Rajveer.

"Cadet Naina, I've good news for you. Your health has improved due to which you can be discharged."

She was delighted. Immediately Naina got up from the bed in order to leave but Shalini stopped her.

"Naina, take it easy. You can go back to the academy but you have to rest for a further few more days. I don't want you doing anything too drastic".

"Don't worry maam. Now whatever I'm going to do is going to be the right thing."

KMA, Ambala

All of Naina's friends greeted her back into the academy. Pooja was too excited and Huda was overwhelmed.

"Hey Naina, rab ka shukr hai ke he put your connection back into roaming." Pooja hugged her.

Huda also came and hugged her. He was too pleased to see her back fit and fine back on her feet. He knew that she would never have the same feelings for him as he does for her but he didn't want to lose her as his good friend. "Chal phoolan ab tu agayee hai na waapis, to ab sab kuch theek hojaega"

"Ha Huda, you're right. Now I'm going to get everything right, the way it should be." She looked at Alekh whilst saying that because only those two knew what she actually meant. She had accepted the truth and now was determined to put it in use for some action.

An orderly came into Abhimanyu's room and informed him that Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia has returned to the academy. Abhimanyu was glad and told the orderly to send for her. Time was running out and he had to find Rajveer, because if what he read in his letter was all true then the people who were conspiring against him, were going to get his hands on him before he did.

Naina couldn't understand why Captain Chauhan wanted to meet her. She knew he was Navin's batch mate but how did he know about her. Could it have been that Rajveer told him? She knocked on the door hesitantly.

"Come in". A cheerful Abhimanyu called. He was listening to music with ear phones whilst concentrating on an aim.

When Naina saw him, she wasn't too pleased by his appearance. "Sir, I was told you wanted to see me."

"Ah, Cadet Naina Singh Ahluwalia. Come in and take a seat." After aiming for a while he was able to shoot the bottle. Then he took the seat in front of Naina and took off his ear phones. "How's your health?"

"I'm fine now sir."

"Good. Cadet Naina kya aap janatee hai ke hum koun hai."

"Sir, bhaiya ne mujhe aapke bare me bataya tha. He had told me you were his batch mate".

"Yes, I was. But not only his batch mate, also his dear friend. We three, me Navin and Raj, were like this" he put both his hands together to show her how close they were. "Navin was the pillar of our friendship and Raj was the foundation. Without them two I wasn't much." He continued telling Naina stories of his days in the academy with both Navin and Rajveer of how they had spent supporting each other no matter what. He reached till the part Navin was declared a traitor and was arrested. "Hamne kabhi nahi maana ke Navin ek desh drohi tha. Since the day he has died I've been on the track of finding his killer, but haven't found any success yet. Today another friend of mine has been declared as a traitor. I never believed that about Navin or hum abhi bhi nahi maante ke Rajveer ek desh drohi hai."

This was news for Naina. No one had informed her that Captain Rajveer was declared as a traitor. This was not right, he was not a traitor and she knew what had happened. "Sir, Captain Rajveer is not a traitor. I know he isn't"

"I know too. Isiliye humne aapko bulaya hai. Tell me Naina, what happened. I need to know what happened before Rajveer disappeared. I was told that only you were with him on that mission. Tell me."

Naina thought about it. She didn't know whether to trust him or not, even though her brother had told him about him. By his sincerity she could sense him being on the positive side but if the same people could have declared Rajveer as a traitor then they could easily put up appearances. The other thing she thought about was that if Abhimanyu found out about Rajveer killing Navin then what will happen? Will he change his mind to help him anymore?

"Naina you have to tell me. Agar aap chahtee hai ke Captain Rajveer waapis baizzat, salamat is academy me laut aaye, then you have to tell me what happened that day. How did Raj disappear? Who were the people?

She was in a dilemma, whether to trust him or not. If she did tell him the truth there were two paths. One was that he would bring Rajveer back and the other one was that he would use the information to put Rajveer into more danger.

"I know you're the only one who truly wants Raj back. He believed that only you would help me solve this mystery." He could sense that Naina was finding it hard to believe him. He had to do something, so the best thing would be to use Rajveer's name. Only Rajveer could help him gain Naina's trust.
