PART – VI
e finally got up about to leave……….he slowly tried to place her hand back at the bed & took a step but couldn't take another. He was shocked…something had happened but his senses denied accepting dat………………………
"What happened Captain"
He slowly turned back……
His finger was clutched in Naina's hand……she was holding it somewhat tightly, though she still showed no movement…….but Shalini knew, a couple of seconds back she did react. Shalini rushed to call the doctors while Rajveer stayed back without making any attempt to release his finger from Naina's hand. Team of doctors & nurses rushed in & Rajveer stepped back & his finger slipped out.
All of a sudden there was a kind of chaos…….Doctors & nurses kept coming in & moving out…..all the cadets woke up with the sudden chaos in the corridor & they could not find either Rajveer or Shalini……They knew something had happened but that was good or bad, they didn't know that. The atmosphere was getting tensed & Rajveer came out. All the cadets wanted to know what was going on but he remained quiet……..He sank back in his chair without speaking even a single word………his silence was killing them. Bt they had no choice. Dr. Shalini suddenly came & saidd
"Captain please get these injections fast"
Rajveer took that prescription & hurried towards the medical store.
Shalini looked at the tensed cadets & told them that everything is gonna be fine very soon. Bt that didn't help them much.
Rajeer came back & handed over the injections to a nurse……….
Then there was no news …. No one knew what was happening inside. With every passing moment their apprehensions were increasing.
It took about another hour & finally the entire medical team came out. Shalini said she'll explain them everything & therefore, others left. Shalini looked sad…..she looked confused as if she didn't had words, she didn't know how to put it & where to start from. Every1 surrounded her but she still was not able to speak…….she looked at their faces….all the faces showed the same question & same fear….fear of loosing someone very special in their lives & Rajveer finally ran out of patience……
"For God's Sake Dr. Shalini, say something"
Shalini looked at him & lowered her eyes….she was still at loss of words.
Everyone's heartbeat increased when finally she opened her mouth because they knew they were not ready to face a bad news……….
"Guys………."
"Naina…….." she was stuttering.
"Naina agar tum logon ko aise dekhegi to…………"
she finally looked up & this time her eyes had mischief in them
"…to who phir se faint ho jaayegi"
"C'mon guys cheer up……she is out of danger"
"Phew……" a sigh of relief escaped everyone's mouth & then their lips spread out in a smile.
"Dr Shalini, you are absolutely incorrigible." Raj said that with some anger that was quite obviously pretentious becuse even he had a smile on his face…..& this time it was genuine & came from his heart.
"Thanks a lot for the compliment captain", saying this they gave each other a warm hug & Rajveer silently whispered in her ears "Thanks doc" & Shalini just returned a smile.
"Okay guys,listen to me now…Naina ki condition stable hai & she is out of danger lekin abhi use thodi der yahin rakha jaayega, ICU mein & then she'll b shifted to the ward jahan aap sab usse mil sakenge"
They were all so happy to hear that…..the corridor was suddenly filled with smiles, hugs & their loud cheerful voice…..or rather Noise!!!!!!!!
"Shhhhhhhhhhh………."
"Cadets behave yourselves, you all are in hospital…..silence" Shalini reprimanded.
Suddenly Rajveer's phone rang again.
"Is that BC, captain?"
& he nodded his head in negative, but expressions on his face changed suddenly…he was serious again.
"Excuse me" Rajveer said that & left.
He came back in 5 minutes
"Is there any problem captain" Shalini was curious
"No Doc …….nothing at all ….BTW did u inform BC" Rajveer was trying to ignore the topic….there was something he wanted to conceal……………that too from his confidant.
