And now that he grudgingly accompanies his friend, there's hurt/shock/surprise in the knowledge that she's most probably the Bride of an employee of his. The setup has been of 80s because who the hell writes letters now-a-days, i.e apart from sisters writing letters to their brothers on Rakhi. That too has been pushed out of vogue ever since Archies came. And abhi it's pretty easy to track people down.
Moreover, as you put it, I wanted to create a particular mahol for this TS and 80s provided me that.
