Chapter 20

"I love you baby, I love you so much," Virat whispered in her ears for the millionth time that night. He sighed looking at Manvi asleep in his arms and slid his hands down to her stomach.

"Hi shona, I am your dad. I am so excited for you to come. You know, I never had the chance to grow up with my dad. Your dadaji and dadi both died when I was small. Bhout akele tha mein, I only had Bhai. Jaldi aana, I promise I won't ever let anything happen to you and mumma, both of you are my life, my jaan." He said pulling Manvi even closer. He stared in space thinking about Karan and Viren and Vikram's words from the night before.

Viren : "Virat I am not sure if we can file this case yet. Karan is extremely strong. Till then you have to keep Manvi safe. I know you want her living a normal life with her work, but Virat reality is Karan can attack any time. He knows about the case Virat, and I am telling you as Manvi's jiju and your brother, he will do anything to protect himself. I am worried about Manvi, what if something happens to her again Virat, will you ever be able to forgive yourself? I can have Jeevika talk to her.

Virat: Bhai are you hiding something from me, two days ago you were telling me the case is almost done and now you are this worried.

Vikram: Viren I think I may be able to help

Viren and Virat stared at the doorway shocked to see Vikram standing with dadaji.

Vikram: Viren, Virat, I have an idea as to how rapists mind work. They aim for a time when they know the victim will be alone, helpless. Virat have you ever thought, Manvi goes to work and drives around town doing business all day. I know she leaves and comes home with you but that is the entire day that she is without your protection. The field work she is doing Monday at the new branch, its an hour drive from Chandighar, that is the perfect time for Karan to attack. She will be alone , there will be no supervisors. Karan is good friends with a couple people in that business, do you not find it odd that they are asking an intern to go to the new branch for checking instead of someone that is already hired? Virat I am not saying don't let Manvi live freely but her security comes first. If you don't believe me, you go in place of Manvi, don't tell anyone just do It and I will guarantee you 100% you will run into Karan.

"He broke out of thoughts with a shudder and held Manvi close to his heart. I am sorry baby, I love you too much to let anything happen to you. I promise I will end this war with Karan soon, he will be in jail and rot there for what he did to you sweetheart," he said kissing her forehead.
