Chapter 19

"The surprise of a lifetime!"

Virat came home to see Manvi cuddling their wedding picture and sighed relief, he saw the text she sent and was worried sick about what she was feeling so bad about and why she left without him. He walked over and sat down next to her taking the picture out of her hands and kissing her fingers holding them to his cheek. "Wish na sahi, tum meri saath toh ho," he said trying to get over the fact that she still had not wished him. Virat, tum kab aaye, mein chai lau?" she asked stirring in her sleep. Virat smiled and kissed her forehead, don't worry you look tired, mein bana lungi, he said loosening his tie now. Manvi smiled and walked over to him helping him take off his blazer as she hugged him tightly. "I love you Virat, I love you so much!," she said taking in his intoxicating fragrance. Virat smiled and kissed her hair, "I love you too, par baat kya hai, itna pyaar kaha se aagaya?" he asked confuse with her behavior. "Phele se hi tha, I just didn't realize it," she said thinking about what Jeevika said earlier. She had him rush and finish changing so they could cut his cake. "Happy Birthday Chote, ," he said handing Virat a small gold rudraksha. Virat's eyes filled up, "thank you bhai", he said hugging him tighter. Viren smiled at him, "yeh meri taraf se nahi, uncle ki taraf se, he said pointing to Vikram. Vikram felt uncomfortable and was about to walk out when he felt Virat tug at his hand, "mom and dad ne toh akele chod diya mujhe, aap bhi chodogi?" he asked as he pulled Virkram into a hug. Vikram smiled and caressed Virat's head, "tumhare papa aur ma, dono is rudhraksha mein hai. Dono bagwan ki paas hai, whenever you need to talk to them, you will have this hmm," he said clasping it on Virat's wrist. "aur aaj ki baad, don't ever consider yourself alone, I will help you in any way I can beta, ab chalo lets cut the cake, dadaji must be waiting," he said wiping Virat's tears. Virat walked over to dadaji and hugged him tight, "dadaji thank you, mujhe kab se intezar tha ki mein sab ki saath birthday celebrate karu, I missed this all of my childhood" he said remembering how the Vadhera family never celebrated his birthday because of Swamini's harsh words that he was not Vadhera blood, that Vanshika had an illegitimate relationship and Virat was the product. Dadaji held his head down, "that was my fault beta, I should have realized you are a small child, tumhare to koi galti nahi the, this is from me," he said pointing to Virat's birthday cake. "Happy Birthday Virat, Vadhera Khandan ki chote bete." Virat smiled and hugged dadaji, thank you dadaji, he said feeling happy that dadaji finally accepted him

After the cake cutting Virat stayed out to talk to Vikram about his program and how they helped the rapists. Manvi smiled and went inside and decorated the entire room with candles and Virat's baby pictures. After a while she heard Virat come in and sat down on the bed smiling as he walked in. Virat looked around and looked at her confused, "why are my baby pictures posted everywhere?" he asked Manvi bluntly. Manvi giggled and shook her head. "sab se pehele, Happy Birthday, I never wished you, tumhe bura nahi laga Virat?" she asked confused at why he wasn't upset she didn't wish him. He smiled and shook his head, "tumhara pyaar enough hai, as long as I have your love, yeh wish meri liye kuch nahi, zindigi bhar meri saath raho, aur zindigi ki baad bhi bas is se zadha meri liye koi wish nahi. I just want you with me for my entire life and even after, other than that nothing matters to me. He said hugging her. Manvi smiled and cupped his face, "I am sorry Virat, I thought you had an affair with Maya aur tum ho ki all you wanted is my love," she said feeling guilty. Virat shook his head, "that's what you thought, maya toh kya, I don't think I could think of any girl but you," he said assuring her as he smiled and shrugged his shoulders, "repent karna jati ho, toh thik hai I want my birthday gift," he said smiling. Manvi smiled "yes I have a special gift," she said giggling. She handed Virat the pregnancy card strip that read positive. He just stared at it, "Manvi, I majored in finance and accounting not biology, what is this," he said looking at the strip of paper. She took this hands gently around her stomach and he smiled, "Manvi what is going on," he asked confused. "Virat tum papa bane wale ho, I am pregnant!," she said looking straight into his eyes. Virat's hands around her waist immediately loosened. He was dumbfounded now, he had wanted this for so long and finally had it. "Phir se kaho?" he said not believing what she said. "tumhara chotu sa baby hai, yaha," she said beaming this time as she lead his hands back to her stomach. "mmera baby, mera apna baby," he said feeling around her stomach. He felt two tears drops come out from the corner of his eye and lifted her off her feet twirling her around. "I love you baby, I love you so much," he sighed as he set her down into his arms on the bed. It was now midnight and the two lovebirds were still cuddled close to each other, Manvi arms securely around Virat, and Virat arms securing Manvi in his embrace with one and the other resting at her stomach, protecting the life that had given them a new ray of light in their lives. It was a new beginning for them, a completely new start and the tears they had for the past couple of months with Manvi's rape and abortion were in an instant replaced with a happiness that they would have for the rest of their lives. "bhagwan ki ghar me der hai, andher nahi," it was really true, they had suffered long and hard and now the light that had left their lives was back, it was shining brightly as the new life that would fill VIrat and Manvi's life with the light that had long been missing, a light that would never die out, their baby, a blessing from god that finally gave them the happiness they deserved.
