Hello there :)
I agree with the comment above^ . The response for all stories and all readers is'nt the same. Some stories are really simple yet attracting that it will keep maximum readers hooked for the chapter even for a month but some of them are complicated like mysterious one and same type genres that readers will eventually scatter away from your story.
For me for any kind of story, updating twice a month is okay, maybe thrice if a writer gets time eg. some unexpected holiday or breaks which we can utilize for writing.
From a reader's perspective, I can wait for one and a half or two weeks for an update.
Editing, in my opinion doesnt take much time. Actually, I dont edit my works, I write them and post directly.
In my free day, I dont prefer writing when all the family and friends are surrounding me.
I always write at night when there is no one around you. For me, I can get the update done in just 2 hours maximum. Otherwise if I write it in the day time, it takes even more than 10 hours.
The minimum words I would like to have in a chapter if a writer is updating after every 2 weeks is 1500. In two weeks, we can always imagine what will happen in our story and pen down each scene when we get time. Like 200 words each day or something like that. This way the burden can be lessened, writing 200-300 words daily in a hectic schedule isnt that much of a problem.
Now all you need to see the trends of works for your day and weeks, decide according to that. I hope I was some help 😊
