-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Angad was beside her in a jiffy. Kripa had turned alarmingly pale. He picked her up in his arms like the precious bundle she was and settled her on the couch before calling for the hotel doctor. Then he sat on the couch with Kripa's head on his lap with a glass of water in his hand. He had almost drowned Kripa's face with water when she came to, till then doctor had arrived with a bellboy to open the suite door as Angad has instructed. He was not moving an inch away from Kripa and he would be damned if he let her.

When Kripa sensed the position she was in, she tried to scramble away and Angad stopped her with a hand on her thighs. When the doctor tried to examine Kripa, she tried to speak again, but a look from Angad stopped her. He looked frantic with worry.

The doctor indicated that Angad should move so he could examine Kripa, Angad stalled him with a firm shake of his head. The doctor understood the anxieties of a worried spouse whose wife has just fainted and didn't object. Kripa was bewildered. It was an out of body experience for her. She didn't understand the situation a bit, but was not in a condition to go against the formidable will of Angad. When doctor indicated that everything was alright and asked Kripa when had she had her last meal? Kripa replied,"in the morning I had breakfast."

"It's seven in the evening, haven't you had anything since." When she shook her head to indicate she hadn't, doctor prescribed a glass of glucose water and then light meal, with some soup and vegetables and also advised her not to skip any meals in the future.

When the doctor was leaving Angad finally released Kripa to escort him out and thank him for coming. The doctor mentioned that in addition to hunger it was shock that rendered her unconscious. Angad thanked the doctor and closed the door with a resounding click behind the doctor and the bellboy.

When he came to the sitting room, Kripa was searching for her wallet frantically. Though Angad was feeling guilty because he knew she had fainted after he has asked whether she was protected or not, he was not letting her leave until after dinner. Then he would drop her home in his car. He would let her get used him being back in her life, and then he would tell her he was there to stay. He was not giving her time, he was not a patient man, and they would be married as soon as he could arrange it. He smiled at that thought and grabbed Kripa's hand before telling her he was ordering dinner for them both and settling her on the couch again. Before Kripa could object he was ordering on room service. Kripa had always known that Angad could bulldoze the best of beings, but she had not known she would be one of them.

While he was on the phone, Kripa tried to slip out of the suite, but at the last moment Angad stalled her and kissed her hard on the mouth. When he released her, she was on couch with Angad on top of her grinning devilishly. She just glared at him, and he just smiled at her. Then his eyes moved to her lips, and as if he couldn't resist, he traced her lips gently with his finger before claiming them with his again. This time they surfaced when the bell rang indicating the arrival of dinner. Angad pecked her lips again before opening the door leaving her to scramble quickly into a sitting position. She didn't have any time to re-button her shirt or brush her hair. When the waitress took in her state of undress, she saw the knowing look in her eyes indicating she knew what was going on when she came. Kripa turned scarlet and looked away. Angad indicated that she can leave the dinner as he and his wife would serve themselves. He had seen how the waitress has looked at Kripa, he didn't want Kripa to be embarrassed due to their relationship and it would be true soon enough.

"I am not your wife."

"Not yet." Kripa looked with astonished eyes towards him. Angad just stared back, finally Kripa averted her eyes. He had not wanted to mention it just yet, but now that he had, he didn't regret it.

They ate in silence. A strange sense of inevitability gripped Kripa. She felt an incoming storm that she could not she run away from. It would engulf her and destroy all that she had established in the last five years. But strangely that thought didn't terrify her as it should have.

Angad watched how Kripa had stopped eating and fed her himself. Now that she was his again, he didn't want anything to harm her, not even herself.

After the meal Kripa left in a taxi. He had every intention of driving her himself, but seeing how fragile she looked he had let her go. But he vowed it would be the last time. He took out his cell phone and did what he should have done a before coming to Indore, "Find out everything you can about Kripa Sharma and do it quickly."

Then he called his team of managers and planned the second stage of his acquisition.

15.Those green eyes

Angad had a hard time sleeping that night, and when he finally did fall asleep a pair of green eyes haunted his dreams. They looked at him accusingly, as if he were responsible for all their problems. Finally when his dream self looked away from those accusing eyes for a second those green eyes had vanished leaving behind the bleak emptiness he had lived with for the last five years. He woke up with Kripa's name on his lips and fear in his heart. He could not go back to that bleak existence after experiencing the warmth of Kripa's existence. He would not live without her.

He glanced at the bedside clock; it was 6:30 in the morning. Without caring about the time, he called his lawyer and asked him to draw up the papers. He could not wait anymore. The fear that he would lose everything once again unsettled him.

The same morning he arranged a meeting with the event management company's front face, Ms. Naina Verma. His sources had told him the other partner was Kripa Sharma. He had not needed the sources after reading Naina's name which he remembered from the contract he had had drafted for Naina and Kripa, but it was still good to know that his gut instinct has not failed him. Today they will finalize their agreement and he would be a part of something Kripa had created and cherished for five years as he will cherish Kripa and everything she called her own from now on.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kripa was still suffering the after-effects of spending yesterday with Angad when Naina called. She wanted to talk about the merger with the Delhi based firm. Kripa confirmed that she will be in the office at 8:30 after dropping Ansh to his school. Yesterday when she had come home, Ansh had come to her and hugged as if he sensed that something life altering had happened and she needed his support. Prithvi had left her alone but the look he had given her when he left promised there will be questions soon.

Ansh has slept with Kripa saying he was afraid of the monster under his bed. But Kripa had not been fooled. She loved him with all her being, and the thought that he would be separated from her terrified her. What will Angad do when he found out about Ansh? One look at their son, and he will know he was the father. She was even more afraid by his pronouncement that he will marry her. She did not want to marry him. She had been happy to share the day with him. But she could not imagine everyday with him, with such ups and downs. She could not bear it. He was larger than life and he wanted her to be a part of his life. She didn't know she would be happy with a part, and if he surrendered his all to her whether she could embrace it all. Theirs was not a match made in heaven, it will never be. She just hoped he would go back to his life and leave her to hers.

With these thoughts still playing in her mind, she made breakfast for Ansh. His favorite item, roti ka chura and tomato ketchup were on the menu. When he came down and saw it on the table, he gave her a big smile, which lifted her heart and made her forget all her worries.

She dropped to his school bus stop and went to the office. Naina waved hello and good morning and went to grab a coffee as soon as she entered the office. She was not a morning person and the call from the promoter's secretary who had phoned at 7:30 a.m. to set up an appointment at 11:30 with the promoter had woken her much earlier than her usual time. She has also mentioned that it will be okay if the other promoter is not present as long as she signs the contract they had sent this morning and will reach the office around 9:00 a.m.

Naina dropped the contract on Kripa's desk and indicated she read it, while she grabbed another cup of coffee, without two cups of coffee in the morning she was like a zombie. Kripa read the document while Naina went through her morning routine of waking up. When Naina was back to her perky, excited self they discussed the terms. The contract was satisfactory, the terms were favorable. As mentioned in the initial contract, they can continue as they were without any major changes. But one thing was troubling her, the name of the promoter was not mentioned in the contract, only the firm's name was present. Though this was not alarming in any sense, it did not sit well with Kripa. But she let it slide as Naina was bubbling over excitement about the new possibilities. She trusted Naina's judgment. When Naina mentioned that she could attend her client meeting as her presence was not required, she looked up at Naina questioningly. Naina just shrugged. Naina also didn't understand how they could have changed their opinion so quickly. Just yesterday they were insisting on a meeting with the other partner and today they were not. She made a note to ask the same in the meeting. Kripa left for her client meeting at 11:00; from there she would pick up Ansh and return at about four after dropping him for his skating classes.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Angad entered the Aashaye's office; he noticed the imprint of Kripa's nurturing presence almost immediately. The vase of flowers, lilies her favorite were kept on the meeting room's table. The muted colors which defined Kripa and the bold gestures illustrated with paintings and pieces of art which made her the irresistible combination of passionate calm. Though he knew Kripa was not here as her partner has mentioned but he felt her soothing presence.

Those green eyes that had haunted him just this morning now soothed him. Soon they were done with the discussions about the terms and their new centre in Delhi which will be handled by one of the partners. Naina asked the question which had been disturbing her since his secretary had called that morning, "Why when you made it a condition to meet with the other partner, before going through the deal, did you change your mind?"

Angad gave an impression as if he was pondering over how to answer the question. Naina knew better. This was a man not used to being questioned. She was thinking he would not answer her question when Angad spoke, "because I like how the other partner of yours trusted your judgment. It is not common these days, the bond of trust and friendship you have. If it was enough for her, it is enough for me."

Naina sensed he was not telling the whole truth, but didn't think he would elaborate further. After they had signed the papers, Angad invited her, her partner, employees and friends to the party tomorrow evening at the hotel he was staying.

Naina gave an affirmative, but she also mentioned that Kripa will not be able to attend. Angad didn't ponder over the reason for that, because he knew she would come.
