Indian wicket-keeper and batsman KL Rahul has been in terrific form in the India Vs England series. Suniel Shetty and his family have been celebrating his milestones on their Instagram stories. Suniel Shetty said his son-in-law is his inspiration. He said it takes immense focus, confidence and mental strength to be a successful player at the international level. He also told Instant Bollywood that KL Rahul does not care about laurels, and technicalities about what is his position in the batting line-up. He is okay with that as long as he is in the playing eleven for India.
Suniel Shetty said, “His hard work – I can go on and on. He’s an inspiration for me. People say I’m his father-in-law, but that doesn’t mean he can’t inspire me. I was a fan before becoming his father-in-law, and I still am.”
He also said that he could not have found a better man for his daughter Athiya Shetty than KL Rahul. The Hunter 2 actor said his mother told him that a daughter should always marry a man who loves her even more than her parents. Suniel Shetty said KL Rahul is that person for Athiya Shetty. The two are blessed with a daughter Evaraah Vipula Rahul.
"I always tell Athiya that she’s blessed to have a husband like him. I’m blessed to have a son like him, and Ahaan is blessed to have a brother-in-law like him. I use the word 'blessed' because only the Lord can bless you – and he has blessed us through him.”

Suniel Shetty got a lot of flak for saying that if men went to work then women should be willing to take care of the kids. He said couples in current times do not have the patience to tide through the challenges of a marriage. His statements drew a lot of flak as people felt they were archaic and sexist for current times.
