Samrats cabin

gunjan and nupur walked out. Mayank stared at them and sat on the chair suddenly looking lost. Samrat looked at the girls and then at mayank.

"kya mayank ? Tumne usse kuch kahaan kya?"

"haan ," he snapped," nupur se careful rehne ke liye kahaan. tumhe koi problem ?"

"haan hain. Wo meri dost hain " and thinking for a secon," aur honewaali saali bhi. Tumne tho isi tone mein kahaan hoga. " samrat retorted back . Mayank didnt answer.

"kya mayank, tum bhi. is time mein usko ghar mein aaram se rehna hain and wo college mein shukla sir ki lecture sunke baithi hain! Tumhaare liye . Uske upar tum .."

" graduation uska complete hona hain samrat aur wo bhi nahin karegi tho apne pairon pe kaise khade hogi? Uski koi treasury nahin hain tumhaare tarah"

samrats face changed for a second at the reference to his own wealth but he ignored it immediately and said,

" agar nahin bhi hain tho kya? Tum ho na" in the main hoon na style with a grin on his face and hands on mayanks shoulder

"aaj hoon samrat. Jis din nahin rahoonga tab kya karegi?" samrat noticed the seriousness in his voice and eyes but could not understand why mayank was being so unreasonable.

"tab hum sab hain. Aur waise bhi tumhe kahin jaane ki permission nahin milnewaala hain nupur se." samrat smilingly replied, "kitne din baad uske life mein khushi aayi hain , tumne abhi tak usko koi gift nahin diya hoga! nupur ko abh har waqt pyaar ki baarish chahiye. aur tum aaj kal kuch zyaada hi rude ho sab ke saath. Usse tho thoda zyaada pyaar se baat karo mayank. "

"samrat, mujhe tum please abh yeh mat batao ki meri biwi se kaise baat karni hain. agar main nupur ko kehtha hoon tho usmein meri concern hain. ab main sadu hoon rude hoon tho main waise hi behave karoonga na. main sab ke liye badal nahin saktha . aur waise bhi kuch baaton ke baare mein opinion nahin deni chahiye khaaskar jab baat personal hain tab." mayank s voice had a sterness and forbidding tone which had never been present before with samrat.

samrat s hand moved away from mayanks shoulder and he sat on his chair pretending to look through some papers on the table. Mayank sat twirling the paperweight both hurt bot for thr first time sisce their friendship began with an uncomfortable silence stretched between them

After a few minutes,mayank broke the silence,"chodo samrat. Tum batao , tum apne parents ke saath kab baat karnewaale ho? Jabse shaadi ki baat shuru hua hain tab se tumhaare liye sirf suhaani baat kar rahin hain! Ab tho hardly any time is left "

" agar main kahoon ki yeh meri personal baat hain tho.." both stared at each other , mayank looking insulted and samrat hurt still.

Mayank got up not looking at samrat and samrat ," mayank dekho.." apologetically

"main..main chaltha hoon . Mera class hoga" and walked away

samrat stared at his papers absently.

MN house- living room

nupur on the sofa in front of tv with a plate of GOK what eating furiously

"yeh dekhoo. Sab jagah, sab jagah , saari duniya ki yahin kahaani hain"

gunjan came in from kitchen," kya kahaani hain di?"

"dekhle tu bhi .abhi se sambhal jaa. Yeh samrat , jo abhi tere aage peeche ghoomtha rehtha hain , shaadi ke baad dekhna kaisa badal jaayega. Aur agar bachhe honge tab tho gayab Mr India ki tarah. Isko dekho, " pointing to a tearstained heroine on tv

" kitna kuch nhain kiya hain isne apne pati ke liye aur wo, sadu kahinka. Jab is bichaari ko uski sabse zyaada zaroorat hain tab iska haath chod diya. Jis haath ko saath nibhaane keliye pakda tha" glancing at her hands theatrically ," usko chod diya. Aur yeh phir bhi us aadmi ke liye wait kar rahin hain..yeh soch rahin hiain ki wo aayega tho zindagi mein saare phool phir se khilenge, phir se un phoolon ki khushboon phailegi, phir se bhavare..."

gunjan smiling uncontrollably , got up and switched off the tv.

"gunjan!"

"di , bas bhi karo. Tum yeh sab dekhna bandh karo abh. Kuch achha achha dekho. Jo tumhaare dil ko khush rakhsakhtha hain.."

"tho cartoon channel hi daal de." nupur sarcastically," warna tho saare serial mein biwiyon ko dukh hi jhelna hain. wahaan tom and jerry dekhenge" she said eating again.

Gunjan came nearer,picked the plate and said strnly btu lovingly," ab bas di. Itna bhi jiju se naaraz nahin rehthe. Tumhaara sehat kharaab hoga."

"wo tho hain. Usse kya hoga? Bhugatna tho mujhko hi hain. waise tumne mera plate kyun liya? khaa tho sakthi hoon na main"

"di!, baad mein khaa lena " gunjan held nupurs hands in her own," kya tumhe ab kisi aur ki zaroorat padegi yeh batane keliye ki jiju tumne kitna chahthe hain? Tum jaanthi ho, unke gusse mein bhi unka pyaar hain. Unko tumhaari fikar lagi rehthi hain. ky hua agar kuch zyaada boldiya tho? "

"wo sab main jaanthi hoon gunjan.par aaj kal mayank... wo bohot alag sa hain, kaam zyaada kartha hain, raat raat bar jagaa rehtha hain, ek aur exam ke liye apply kiya usne. Abhi time kahaan hain uske paas yeh sab kuch karne ke liye? Aur har ek baat par chid jaatha hain. Kabhi kabhi mujhe samaj mein nahin aatha ki main pregnant hoon ya wo hain. Kabhi kabhi lagtha hain ki wo bachhe ke baat se khush hi nahin hain"

"di! " gunjan protested, " tumne unse baat ki?"

" kab karoon? College ke baad wo apna project ka kaam kartha rehtha hain aur raat ko mujhse jagi nahin jaathi."

gunjan knew nupur wasnt overreacting. Samrat had also been saying that mayank was worried about something. Nupur continued, taking gunjans hands in her own and squeezing them

"aur dekho, tumhaari shaadi itna nazdeek hain, main shopping nahin karoongi, tayaariyaan nahin karoongi tho kaun karega? Bauji bhi nahin hain aur bui chinky ke saath busy hain tho...koi bade nahin haina gunjan, agar kuch galat hogaya tho pata nahin samrat ke ghar mein kya kahenge. Waise bhi unko yeh rishtha manzoor hain ya nahin wo bhi kisiko pata nahin" she asked worry lines on her forehead

gunjan straightened the lines on her forehead saying," di, mere liye tum ho tho sab hain- maa bauji sab. Aur samrat ke parents ko jab mujhe accept karna hoga wo karenge. Tum uske baare pareshaan mat ho. Tum bas yeh socho ke jab is ghar mein ek nanhi si bacchi aayegi tab tum kitne khush hogi. Tum tho mujhe bhi bhool jaaogi." she pouted like a small girl

"tum hona meri gudiya ,tho mujhe abhi ladka chahiye' she smiled looking fondly at gunjan and gunjan glad to see her smile laughed.

Night- Mayank entering in, gunjan walking out.

"hi gunjan, tum abhi tak yahin ho? Dher nahin hua? Nupur kahaan hain?"

" di so rahin hain jiju. Bas dono baat kar rahe the tho time ka khayal nahin aaya. Aap itne late kyun ho?"

"kaam tha" he said shortly though he couldnt help smiling at the happy look on her face, "tumhaara chehra dekh ke tho yahin lagtha hain ki nupur ka mood teek hogaya hain!"

" haan, " she agreed but hesitatingly added," par jiju aap itne dher tak kaam karthe rahoge tho aapki tabiyat kharaab hojaayegi . Aur aapki mood bhi. Tab aap di ka khayal kaise rakhoge? Thoda sa aaram karlo " mayank looked at her taking in her sweet concern and understanding the soft way she was trying to tell him how he has to avoid being rude to nupur.

He placed a hand on her head," tum ho na gunjan nupur ki khayal rakhne! But saali sahiba ki hukum saraankhon par. Main yaad rakhoonga. Ab chalo. Main chod doon"

"nahin , samrat aayega. Good night" and left

mayank also remembered how rude he had been to samrat in the college and wondered if he should go speak to him now, par pata nahin wo kaise react karega. And went up instead to his room.

sucha sweet update...well the gunur and majan part...i like the sayank part even though they both had a fight of sorts...adds a new dimension to their friendship...and what friends don't fight...looking forward to the next update...i dont mind every other day updates as long as they remain as every other day and not longer 😆
