"She wud be fine. There is nothing to worry abt" said the doctor . "But... " veer couldn't help to express his concern.

"She will surely regain consciousness. Its not even 48 hours till we started her treatment " doctor assured veer.

On the way of leaving the opulent bedroom which was now resembling a luxurious hospital suite with all the ECG equipments monitoring the steady heart rate and the IV drip stand beside the bed supplying the transparent liquid into her veins ,doctor informed the nurse to keep him posted about any changes in her condition.

"You should rest . these hours have been tough on you too" the doctor voiced his concern for veer when they both climbing down the stairs. All veer could do just nod in affirmation.

After doctor left veer found himself in the sanctuary of his bedroom ofcourse after checking on ananya in her room.Sleep was a distant thought.

The past 48 hrs were hell. If anything would have happened to her...he couldn't have forgiven himself ,she was his responsibility after all his family business had been able to avert the financial crisis because of ananya's enormous wealth and riches . Because of her his family were keep on enjoying the luxurious privileges. And yet he wouldn't have been able to keep her safe under his watch.

Yesterday ,at dawn ,when the weather had cleared , he carried ananya out of the woods in his arms,to his sheer luck he was able to hitch hike just a few minutes after they hit the road. Rest was the easy with mobile provided by the car's driver.

"70's theme party. With all the sarees like saira banu ... " seema (veer's bhabhi) suggested but she was interjected with a dramatic yawn by gia followed by her comment "boring".

Seema was regretting the moment to take help from her daughters to decide the theme of the silver jubilee party of piyu's school. Seema's hands were full with arranging all the kids activities during daytime and to add to her burden she had to take of the party at the evening.

Though three months were there to plan everything , but who was she kidding three months were certainly a short duration to organizesuch an important event to one of the most prestigious educational facility i.e. St.Teresa educational academy (SOTY wala name use kiya hai😆),on the top of that Singh family was one of the trustee of the school .

So the event had to be successful or else she had to face the rave review by the press cause it wasn't just an event of some school as many high profile people whose kids were student's of the school as well as the one's whose were not as well as lots of elite alumni ; were going attend the event.

All in all it was not gonna be less than some high profile party ,but it had to be unique in a way as it was marking the silver jubilee of the of the education institute.

"Then was u suggest gia" seema asked.

Gia "pool party " seema mentally slapped her forehead ,began to think in what right mind she thought she could get any useful input from her daughters.

Ria "shut up gia u cannot have a pool party" . at least her other daughter had sense

"The pool area is on the opposite section of the grand hall" Ria cleared her reason for objecting gia's suggestion.

And for one minute seema thought that among her two fraternal twins one had brain.

"princess theme party" a soft voice asserted and piyu was in front of them in her school uniform , kindergardener had just returned from school.

Gia "piyu dear its not just children's party"

Seema encouraged piyu idea "dats a cool one piyu I will give it a thought"

Piyu enquired "it dad home yet??????????"

Before either of her daughter could pass any rash remark ,Seema picked piyu in her arms and said "no dear but he will be soon, now who wants a cake" and she took piyu into the kitchen , in hope to cheer piyu with the sweet treats

Veer was brought back from his trance of thoughts with a knock on the door. Komal was there to inform him that ananya was regaining her consciousness and murmuring his name. Soon veer was in ananya 's room followed by komal.

The surrounding was blur and slowly clearing and her eyes spotted him who was at present the focus of her love ,desire ,hope ,warmth ,every humanly feeling one can feel for one's loved one and more...

Veer's attention was caught by the nurse's words ,so he missed the beautiful smile forming on ananya's face. Nurse informed him that ananya is now fine ,she is responding very well to the treatment and till the effect of meds wears off her senses would be a bit fuzzy.

Veer was gonna leave the room so ananya could rest and he was able to turn and step out , but as the moment he turned his wrist was got by ananya . Veer turned and looked down and her ,with her half closed eyes and her pale face ,she was smiling.

Veer sat on the stool near the bed and worriedly inquired her softly "ananya do u need anything?"

Ananya replied in fuzzy speech "you" and she opened her eyes and gave him a look.

"THE LOOK" which just cannot be defined in few words .

It simply implied that (if we try to define it)

"my life is meaningless without u"

"u r engraved in my heart "

"I will love you till the last beat of my heart. And after that..."

She took veer's hand near her heart and hugged it and whispered "I love u veer" and she slipped into sleep .

Veer's face was still and as hard as granite .

He was aghast by her confession.

Few hours later he gently retrieved his hand form her hold and left the room.

Next morning ananya rose from the bed and stretched her arms in air, she was feeling really alive (like snow white felt after prince charming kissed her😆 😉 ). She eyed the room various medical monitoring equipment were kept beside bed but they were switched off. The IV drip stand was still standing beside the bed but it was no longer connected to her veins.

A distinct smile broke on her lips and a gleam lit in her eyes, making the lustre- less face glisten with new flavour of life .

She closed her eyes to get the glimpse of 'the resident of her heart' and the small upward curve of her lip turned into a full-fledged grin.

She got of bed and as she heard a bird singing ,she went barefooted to the balcony through open glass door . She was wearing a loose white hospital gown with light blue spots on it and her already dry hair were a riot of tangles and slightly frizzy (all in all total mess ).

The unique fragrance of the water bathed earth had dominated the atmosphere. She inhaled the air carrying the natural aroma and listened to the chirpy melody sung by the birds . she took time to view the scenery. Its was so serene like all impurities being washed off and earth has rejuvenated. She herself felt rejuvenated with the soft sun rays falling on her face. Past four years the drugs and meds had held her captive under the force of lethargy and weakness all because of ill motives of few greedy people.

But she was enthused to recover from the dark part of her existence. She really wanted to live her life again ofcourse with the love of her life . She just couldn't believe she had something she always wished for. The companionship of a person she loved the most and the one who will love her back = Veer.

It still felt like a dream but it wasn't she was gifted to spend her entire existence on earth with the love of her life

The sound from the room alarmed her ,she slowly peeked from the glass door expecting it to be veer ,he had held her hand all night ,he was so caring inwardly thinking the qualities of veer and the affection and warmth he showered on her . But her heart sank it was Komal the aged housekeeper with the breakfast trolley.

"oh u r outside." The old lady spoke affectionately to Ananya.

"come inside excursion is not good for u . have some breakfast".

Ananya obeyed her and came inside the room , komal provided ananya with toothbrush and paste . later she severed her breakfast. After eating a bowl of cereals ,while drinking her orange juice ananya inquired ,"'did veer had breakfast . where is he?"

Komal casually replied "he left early in the morning said that he had to take care of some business commitments".

Ananya 's face fell "oh"

Komal juste added a white lie to cheer ananya up "but he told me to take care of u"

Ananya smiled ,thinking how lucky she is to be on the receiving side of veer's affection. She convinced herself after all Veer came to Silvasa ,to take back the ownership of his ancestral castle (haveli). He cannot be by her side always, if not breakfast they would have lunch or dinner later...

The coming morning held no resemblance to the yesterday's morning . Though with the advent of the dawn; the earth was alive with birds singing and the leaves of the tree making the swishy sound because of the wind. But for her this morning was gloomy.

She hadn't seen veer since the night before yesterday. She had her hopes high that he might join her for lunch yesterday. But inspite of his absence, she was sure that no matter how much caught up in work he may be ,he was surely going to come home for dinner .

She had managed through the day with komal on her service , she didn't disappointed the old lady and had her lunch and evening snacks along with taking the medicines on time . But she insisted komal that she was going to wait for veer and than only have her dinner with him. And this time ananya was not gonna surrender to any of the techniques of persuasion employed by komal ,which ananya had been giving in for the rest of day.

After waiting for hours and evading komal's attempt to make her eat her food ; ananya dozed off with her head leaned on the dining table ,pillowed in her arms.

Then she remembered everything in fragments how komal helped into her room and spoon fed her soup and made ananya take her medicines.

Ananya was brought back from her analysis of yesterday ,komal entered her room and pulled opened the curtains. Komal too just couldn't understand veer's behaivour. She even got a feeling that he was purposely avoiding ananya .Komal WAS in no doubt that veer's did this marriage under duress. But his behaivour of offhandedly avoiding ananya, komal was finding elusive.

But komal decided not jump to the conclusions .She had a duty to do. Veer had called her late last night. After she bombard veer with her charges he had being guilty for not arriving home for dinner , veer explained that he has been caught in work and won't be able make home for few days. So he asked Komal to take Ananya back to Mumbai.

Komal smiled at ananya and gave her a sugar coated excuse that Veer was caught up in the matter's related to de-mortgage his ancestral castle 'haveli' . So he would be caught up in work and he requested that ananya should return back to Mumbai. Inorder to avoid any of ananya's protest ,komal also added that how grateful is she to accompany ananya to Mumbai ,so she could visit her relatives.

Guess komal's sugar coating worked and annaya without any protest got ready and they both left in a chauffeur driven car send by veer.

They reached Mumbai at around 3.30 in afternoon and ananya was in the drawing room of Singh mansion at around 4.15 along with Komal and Seema. Seema showed her concern for ananya and inquired her well being ,Komal wanted to disclose that ananya had been ill as she and veer were missing entire night . but ananya held komals hand and requested her to keep mum which komal obliged.

Later ananya was sitting near the window ,gazing the slowly descending sun.

She lectured herself that she was fussing over nothing Veer cared about her and there was no way that he was avoiding her. He must have stuck in work ,so he couldn't make home for dinner or accompany her way back Mumbai. COM' on he would be home soon. She was hoping that he would return tonight only, so nurturing this hope was sited on the window seat cross-legged and eyeing the main gate with anticipation.

But her hopes were shattered & she had to get her self away from the window ,when Komal came to ananya's bedroom to make ananya have dinner which ananya ate and komal tried amused ananya by telling her that how she was excited to her relatives in Mumbai and she had to leave early morning .

Ananya thanked komal for the attention she gave to her. But komal kissed ananya's forehead and said that we don't thank the loved ones.

Ananya protested that she doesn't want to take meds but komal persuaded her by stating that this was the last dose of the medicines. She helped ananya settle into bed and left. Due the effect of meds ananya gave in to the state of slumber.

Veer had his eyes shut tight and he was leaning his head on the opulent black leather chair behind his desk, his hand had clutched paper weight so tight that his knuckles had turned white. Frankly speaking he was going out of his mind. He felt as in his shoulders were crushed with the burden of guilt

Her words were still echoing in his ears. How could someone express love in such simple manner.

First he thought that she is just garnering a childish crush.

When he saw her face last time when she was confessing her feelings, he was under no illusion that it was a childish crush.

"god what I have done" he said rubbing his eyes. The circumstantial intimacy which happened between them had added fuel to the fire.

He was feeling so bad that the poor soul was offering her whole heart to him. HIM!

Raising his eyes , his gaze fell on the trophies inside the glass cupboard.

He walked towards it and held one trophy in his hand 'Annual polo champion'

Dated 4 years ago.

This trophy jolted out his memory of first meeting ananya . veer was so preoccupied before and after the match that he didn't even notice the 16 year old Ananya was looking towards him dreamily through half closed eyes. During that day his mind was on the match and after he might have paid attention to the people he was meeting during the after party but his thoughts were all clouded by HER phone call . NIHARIKA'S call, his Niha.

Niha and Veer been dating for 18 months and he was is no doubt that she was the one. He knew in his heart that he was going to marry her some day maybe after few years after all they were just 19. what was the hurry?.but Her phone call guess was about to change it. Veer felt as if he had been turned upside down by niha 's news that she had missed her period. At that time veer wanted to be with niha instead of greeting and accepting compliments for winning the match by bunch of acquaintances .

He handled the after party as if he has been on auto-pilot ,smiling ,shaking hands , nodding and giving affirmative response.

He didn't even gave a second look when MR Khuranna and his daughter came to give their congratulation to veer , but ananya 's eyes were on him before and after they shook hands. Then infront of her , veer's dad proposed that they should think about hitching their kids. Veer just politely departed after spending reasonable amount of time in the party. He just wanted to be with niha to tell her that he was going to be there for her.

Few weeks later ananya's dad passed away in plane crash , but veer didn't make it to the funeral as his plate was full with personal problems. His family were furious when he came home with Niha married . but then they have to accept the new relation. Veer 's dad's passed away soon after piyu was born . Than as chain reaction his marriage collapsed and he moved out with piyu to stay at farm house when piyu was 3. Now here he was M.D of Khuranna Enterprises but at what price. He didn't what to be M.D or want any of this riches and wealth at price of his life. But he has done it any ,he was hitched to someone to get his family out of the crisis and unfortunately his new wife was in love with him!

Can't it get any worse for him!

His assistance came in to inform him that the deal has been tackled and now his family are the owners of thr haveli. Veer was glad that the 5 days he spend in Silvasa were being fruitful. But in back of his mind he knew who was he kidding ,he couldn't do any work . he just delegated to his staff. To tell the truth he was hiding in here , he just cud not face ananya and her honest feelings for him.

But he thought enough is enough he had to go to Mumbai he was missing piyu and piyu too must be needing him . He didn't give her proper attention since he got married that's been a whole week till now.

Ananya poured the glass of milk in the bathroom sink and made herself walk towards bed ,she was wearing simple cotton cream skirt and full sleeve black top. Her eyes were outlined with dark circles and she didn't look well. Frankly it was even worse than she had been with her stepmother.

Atleast with her stepmom ,she had the privilege of a guaranteed oblivion with sleep provided by the drugs and meds.

But now she was deprived of those too. Now she had to deal with everything with her mind fully alert. To deal with all the pain and loneliness.

She hadn't seen veer for 4 days now. She couldn't eat or sleep.If breathing weren't an involuntary action,there was doubt she would even be breathing .Not that anyone would notice. Seema tried to persuade her to come and have food with family but Ananya politely refused as she just couldn't be with them all alone. She needed veer , veer had been her support but without him she was lost in this big mansion.

The noise of car entering gates caught her attention ,she moved to the window. It was veer !

A smile broke on her face ,she slowly walked out of her room. She was gonna go downstairs but she saw veer going in other direction of the same floor where she was standing. She moved slowly so she missed veer ,he had entered his study and shut the door.

Ananya moved slowly towards the door and gathering some courage she tapped on it,anticipating to see veer.

The door opened , veer dominated the door frame with his handsome physique . He was so beautiful ananya thought. But his face was expressionless as if carved out of stone.

"Do u want anything ananya" he asked like some kind of shopping attendant addresses a customer in a mall i.e. without any hint if personal feelings.

Ananya replied "I''''.. I came to see u. "

There not even a flicker on his face

Ananya continued "ummm how was your journ'''."

Veer cut her off in mid sentence

"I have to work if u don't mind".

He gestured a passing servant to take ananya to her room

Next morning as the sun rays fell on her face ,ananya wake up jerkily. She had decided last night he has to make to the breakfast table on time ,so she could spend some time with veer.

Last when he shut the door on her,she returned to her room. But sleep was a distant dream, she lay on the bed eyeing the ceiling ,she sooo wished that she had her medicines (drugs which stepmom used to give ananya in name of medicines) ,so she could have slept cutting her away from the world. Also she could avoid the weird sensation which was ripping her heart apart. She had been feeling this sensation whenever she is away from veer.

When she heard the study door open ,she got up and peeked through the door ,so a steal glance of veer. So she did, he went downstairs.

She went to bed as she thought veer won't like to be disturbed at night .

But still sleep was no away near the horizon. Finally sleep arrived at 5 am.

She glanced at the clock it was 8.30am .She showered and got dressed in similar pattern of clothes , she wore yesterday. She didn't bother to comb hair (not that just combing wud have done anything).

Downstairs wannabies were discussing titles for the silver jubilee event seema was planning

Gia murmured "ria , if she is coming to the event , we add worst hair and worst dress too. No doubt she will win both"

Seema shushed her and told her to eat her break fast. Seema welcomed ananya and made her sit.

Ananya gazed here and there and atlast asked "where is veer"

Gia mumbled "running scared of u"
