Akshay Kumar on being the highest taxpayer for 8 years: ‘Agar paisa kamaya hai toh loot ke nahi kamaya’

Akshay Kumar, one of India’s highest tax-paying celebrities, has finally responded to long-standing claims that he is money-minded. The actor appeared on Aap Ki Adalat and spoke openly about the accusations.

He said, “Agar paisa kamaya hai toh loot ke nahi kamaya. Maine kaam karke kamaya hai. 8 saal se I have been the highest taxpayer. Toh, it cannot be that I am money-minded or anything. Money is an important aspect in life, you have to be practical.”

He elaborated on his approach to wealth and responsibility, saying, “Paisa kamata hoon, tax deta hoon, aur un paiso se kaafi seva karta hoon. Ye mera dharm hai. Baaki chahe kuch bhi kahe, main kuch vishwas nahi karta… agar aapko pheete katne se paisa milta hai toh kya problem hai? Woh paisa dene ko taiyaar hai? Jab tak aap kisi se chori nahi kar rahe, jab tak aap kisi ko loot nahi rahe ho, jab tak aap mehnat kar rahe hain tab tak koi problem nahi hai. I don’t care if they say money-minded…”

The actor also revealed that years ago, he had to invest his own money to complete a film when the producer faced financial difficulties. His comments underline his insistence on working ethically and supporting the industry while managing finances responsibly.
