SS: Dear Diary... Part 14 Upd 11/30 Pg 66 - Page 14

Just caught up with the last 4 chapters. It's a very engaging SS. Loving it!

Maan read her diary where she wrote about the pull she feels towards him . Must I say, some of her entries are pretty funny and Maan is intrigued by her.

Geet too isn't behind, she's seeking information about him from Nakul and also silently observes him. Interesting.

Maan called Channi to stay with them. I'm glad things are fine between the sisters. Maan just heard the 1st half of the conversation missing out on the most crucial bit. Good that Geet is free of her guilt after her talks with Channi. I'm loving the way this is progressing...wonder what will happen next. Do continue soon.

Lastly, am glad you turned it into a SS.

Oh! Lord...I was really trying hard to stay away from my thread all this while...Alas! my iron will only lasts for half a day 😆

So, coming to the reason, I had to rush here...

My friend J told me of this true account that is quite similar to 'Dear Diary..."

Apparently his friend who was all set to get married to a panjabi girl, sights his childhood crush at his wedding. They sneak away for some time, and he comes to know that she'd always had a thing for him. Now guess what this guy does? He actually breaks his engagement with the bride on the day of his marriage and convinces his family to marry his crush.
The wedding actually proceeds as planned, only the bride is not the intended one, after having promised the original bride that her wedding responsibility and dehej will be handled by his family.

Wow...That was a first. I got super excited when he recalled the anecdote. And me...I came here running to share this with y'all.

(Ok..I'm not as heartless as you folks think. I do feel saddened for the bride who was rejected, although the excitement of citing a trace of fiction in reality or the vice versa always rises my awe)

I am always for people in love getting together, cuz it saves from a lifetime of anguish for all involved.. just that the act of him marrying his love in the same mandap, was a bit callous..

and yeh.. people do surprise us when they bring our imaginations to life..😆.. Hail the 'random' gene in man! 😆

It's hard to say who is wrong and in more pain.

Warning: I have gone into my gripes here indirectly. Don't spend time here, if not interested in my technicalities of writing.

Ever since I put up the Index, people are catching up on FFs/OSs and there are a good number of comments, I haven't been able to respond back.

If there is a like button from me on the post, then you know I have read it. But I still want to answer a few of the questions and comments here, given that this the active thread for now.

1) I will write Rooftop and Iyer and Khurana. There is no doubt. I'm just working on shorter stories, as they take less of my time, the scenes more fresh in my memory and the plot not as complicated as rooftop for example. Iyer and Khurana is a difficult piece for me, give that its a rom com, which is really not easy to write for all its worth. And more importantly, I want to write them novella/novel style and not just go by scene updates, so that I don't have to end up re-writing them later, which is why I keep saying NY times needs sprucing up.

2) THANK YOU to all those who are taking time to read up the old OS's. I definitely intend to write a better version of Churchgate Symphony in the coming weeks( or months) and post it. Hopefully, that will also appeal to you gals as well.

As for the few of the readers who are taking so much time in analyzing the story line and characterization, promptly telling me if I'm making sense with my writing or not, I truly can't thank you guys enough, only ask you to continue helping me out writing down the stories that often get locked down in my head.

I'm totally with you on the one, about the groom being callous...How insensitive?

Men are as random as they are mundane creatures, somehow one act balancing out the other 😆

Marriage is one thing where you shouldnt take chances - after all you get to spend the life with the other person - not your parents, friends, well-wishers.

Well in their case, if not regrets, then life must have filled the void with a good share of guilt for the couple...I just hope that inturn doesn't spew its share of bitterness between them (Whew! I know I'm sounding too pessimistic here 😆)

There is a certain amount of risk with all decisions we take...I can only hope we are all aware of it and keep them to the minimum...What say?
