Chapter Seventeen (a)
Mayank got ready and left his place... went to Nupur's house and went to the window to listen up everything happening.
He puts his ear along and hears, Nupur's mum telling Nupur to have some rest as she is ill. And they could get the mehndi done the next day too.
Mayank therefore now went to Nupur's dad to talk to him about him and Nupur.
Mayank was now sitting in the hall when Nupur's dad came to him, and sat by him. They both shacked hands and now Mayank had to tell about him and Nupur.
ND: Beta tumhara naam kya hai?
Mayank: Uncle mera naam... Mayank hai. Main Nupur keh saath Mumbai mein tha... aur uncle main aur Nupur aik doosre se... bohot pyar karte hain aur...
ND: Bas! Ab aur kuch mat kehna... sab samajh gaya. Toh tum yahan meri beti ke baare mein mera faisla badalne aye ho?
Mayank: Uncle main kon hota hoon aik baap ka uski beti ke liye faisla badalne wala. Leikin Uncle aap bas aik baar meri poori baat suniye.
ND: Acha.. kya kehna chahte ho tum?
Mayank: Uncle, Sameer acha ladka nahi hai.. woh kissi aur se pyar karta hai... woh sirf Nupur ki zindagi kharab karna chahta hai.
ND: Toh tum yeh kehne aye ho? Main tumhari baat ka kaise yakeen karoon?
Mayank: Uncle maine khud unn dono ko aik saath dekha hai... aap chahen toh mere saath chal ke dekh sakte hain.
ND: Theek hai... tumhare paas sirf aik moka hai...
Mayank: Main sabit karke dikhaoon ga uncle. Yeh aik moka kaafi hai mere liye.
So now Mayank takes Nupur's dad to the place where Sameer and his Girlfriend usually meet.
There, they find Sameer kissing and hugging another girl.
Mayank: Woh dekhiye uncle. Yehi hai woh Sameer jiske hawale aap apni beti ko karna chahte hain.
Seeing the scene it got hard for Nupur's dad to see the situation. He went to Sameer and slapped him hard.
ND: Toh yeh hai tumhari asliyat han? Yehi tha woh wada meri beti ko khush rakhne ka?
Sameer: Uncle.
ND: Khabardaar jo kuch aur bola toh... Aaj se meri beti ke kya... Mere ghar ke bhi ird gird na dikhna!
He said and left..
Mayank stood there and looked in Sameer's eyes.
Sameer: Tum kon ho?
Mayank: Wahi.. jisse bachke rehne ko kaha tha Nupur ne. You better know me as Nupur's future husband.
He said and left. While Sameer was left open-mouthed.
There, in Nupur's house. After thinking alot Nupur's dad and mom went to Mayank, who was sitting in the hall.
ND: Beta Mayank, kal tum apne maa- baap ko leke aa jana.
Mayank: Kyun Uncle?
ND smiled.
ND: Arre beta... shaadi ki tareekh bhi toh pakki karni hai na.
Mayank: Kiski uncle?
ND: Ofcourse tumhari aur Nupur ki... I hope un dono ko koi aetraaz nahi hai.
Mayank: Not at all.
And a heavenly smile came to his face.
Mayank went happily from the house and directly to his house.
There, in Nupur's room where she was told that her marriage was about to be fixed with Mayank.
Nupur: Maa. Aap sach bol rahi hain? Mayank aya tha? Meri shaadi... Mayank ke saath? Maa!!
She hugged her while jumping on the floor.
NM: Aik minute.. teri toh tabyet kharab thi na..
Nupur: Woh maa... main...
She said while getting a little ashamed.
Nupur's mom understood it all and cupped Nupur's face.
NM: Mujhe maaf karde beta.
Nupur: Kiss liye maa?
NM: Main tujhe samajh nahi payi.. uss Sameer par yakeen kiya aur apni hi bachi par nahi.
Nupur: Purani baatein bhool jao Maa. Ab unhe sochne se kuch nahi mille ga.
She smiled putting her hands on her mom's hands.
Mayank's house- Mayank went to his parent's room.
Mayank: Mom.. Dad.
MM: Aa Mayu.
MD: Arre Mayank beta..
Mayank came inside and sat with them.
MM: Kuch kehna tha?
Mayank: Han.
MM: Kya?
Mayank: Mom, dad mujhe Mumbai mein pyar ho gaya.
MM: Kis se?
Mayank: Aik ladki hai Nupur. Shimla ki hi hai. Bohot achi hai woh Mom. Yeh dekho.
He shows them a little bandage on his hand.
MD: Yeh kya hai?
Mayank: Aik hafte pehle ham log shimla aaye the aur tab mujhe chott lag gayi... main toh bilkul khayal nahi rakhta tha... Nupur ne mera bohot khayal rakha maa. She's my true soulmate dad. Aap dono uske parents se milne jayen ge na?
MD: Han beta... ham zaroor jayen ge. Agar tujhe Nupur pasand hai toh hammein bhi pasand hai. Ab ham phir se wahi purani ghalti nahi karna chahte.
Mayank: Thank you mom. Thank you dad. I love u both.
He said and left in excitement.
He came back in his room and called Nupur.
Mayank: Maine kaha tha na... Sab theek kar doon ga... Hone wali Mrs.Mayank Malhotra.
He said smiling.
Nupur: Yes. Mr.Malhotra. Ab mehendi toh lage gi. Leikin tumhare naam ki...
She said while blushing.
Mayank: Aur ab main khidki chadh kar nahi.. ghodi chadh kar aoon ga tumharey ghar.
Nupur: Aur phir?
Mayank: Tumhe le aoon ga.
Nupur blushed.
Mayank: By the way Nupur... tumhe bache kitne chahiye.
Nupur: WHAT!
Mayank: Nahi maine socha ke ab shaadi kar hi rahe hain toh bachon ki baat bhi ho hi jaye... nahi dekho mujhe aur koi problem nahi chahiye specially shaadi ke baad.
Nupur: SHUTUPPP!!
She said while disconnecting the phone.
Mayank slowly touches the phone to his chest and says "6298"
Smiles and falls on his bed.
