I am the most handsome, dashing, charming and well the sexiest personality in this entire universe!! Ok ok''lets make it 'country'''ahh'okay fine'.entire 'city'!! That's it'..no more changes to that!! So where was I?? Oh'.to myself only!!
He smiles and for the first time u 'feel' for the 'so-full-of-himself' guy!! That smile made him all that he just bragged abt himself''.but all wid a touch of innocence!!
So I was actually trying to introduce myself ppl'..(pulls the collar of his jacket and stretches his hands like SRK) This is Pranay Chopra!! (Rajeev Khandelwal) (and now whispers) Yeah I knw''its almost like Prem Chopra!! And blv me'.on every single day of my entire life'.I have thanked God that my parents were blessed wid sum sense to NOT keep my name Prem'.out of too much appreciation towards love/romance and stuff like that!! However'.. 'Pranay' still means 'romance'!! But I don't really mind that'..coz I am not adverse to romance!! (and he winks)
Now I knw wat u all r thinking--- Why is this extremely good looking guy talking on and on?? Wat does he exactly want to say??---Well, I do want to say something'..something very'.ahh'.special.
See, like all u ppl out there, even I consider myself to be a Prince of sum state!!! Hey hey'..stop rolling ur eyes at me''whether u admit it or not'..every guy takes him to be the Prince of his lyf'..while every girl assumes herself to be the princess!! And well, every Prince awaits for his Princess'.doesnt he?? So did I.
Yes, I waited for MY princess!! Wondering why the 'past' tense? Well, its becoz I found her'duh!! That too in the most 'usual' way!! U knw'.in fairy tales'..the Prince and his Princess'.have a dance together!! Ah'.pardon me if that doesn't happen in every fairy tale'.. (whispers) I only have idea abt Cinderella!! Remember the Prince met her in the dance ball'.in the middle of which she had frantically ran away keeping behind her glass-made shoe'.which at the end helped the Prince to find her!! Okay okay'.I get it!! U all have gud idea abt fairy tales!! So where was I? Nah'.this tym'.not wid myself'.I was talking abt Prince-Princess dance!! (and he gives a dreamy smile)
In my case''it so happened like'I was shifting to NY'.from California. So I was being given a farewell. I knw it's in the same country'.and I had all the means to get together wid my frnds every month or so'..still'.I wud be a lil away and was bound to be missed dearly by all. (whispers) After all'.who doesn't miss a Prince? (and he winks) Okay okay'.I was kidding!! My frnds wud miss me'.for the sake of being ME only!! That's why they r frnds'.duh!!
Now talking abt the party'.I was, like the fairy-tale Prince, the centre of attention there!! After all'it was MY farewell. The party was going on in full 'dhamaal'. And just then enters my 'Cinderella', my Princess or whatever u may call her!! But I (and only I) call her 'Kuhu'. The name is actually 'Koyal Bajpai' (Female Lead) '.but for me'.she is 'Kuhu'!!
Kuhu was my frnd Diana's chat frnd'..who was supposed to join our college in California!! Ah'.darn'..My EX-college!! Yeah I knw'.Irony of Fate'.but that's MY fate'.Irony is an integral part of it.
So when Kuhu entered in her dark violet knee length dress, she grabbed quite a few eye-balls'..but not mine!! Why?? I was facing the opposite direction silly!! But soon, Diana came up to ME'.obviously becoz its MY party!! She introduced Kuhu to me'.saying it was my 'farewell' party!! I at first smiled and stretched my hand for a hand-shake'.letting her knw my name to be 'Pranay Chopra'!! Even she 'graced' my hand wid hers introducing herself to be 'Koyal Bajpai'. My smile had widened'.when I sensed she was actually Indian'.My love at first sight'..deepened a little more!!
But her next words'..wiped away my dazzling smile!! She said'.she was new entrant in the college'..from which I took transfer just yesterday!! (sighs) In these two years of my college lyf'.I kept searching for my Princess'.to cum across me'.as that's wat usually happens in novels/movies!! But that didn't materialize here!! So I was thinking'.may be NY wud be lucky for me'.but nah'..My Fate and its Irony!! Shud write a book on that'.I tell you!!
Okay'.now that the intro is over'.we all were having fun. My gaze followed Kuhu now and then'.and I found her mingling well wid my frnds. I was glad to see, among guys'.she was talking wid Frank and Willy the most. Now'why glad?? Of course'.becoz they were both taken and also'.very much loyal to their partners!! So not really a threat to my Prince & Princess love story!!
But man'.wat was I thinking?? She was just here'.and will remain here for seemingly 4 more years!! And considering the kind of beauty and gorgeous looks she was bestowed wid'..every single guy wud hit on her!! And no matter if I admit or not'.am not the only good looking guy on this earth!! God was a lil too generous when it came to creating good looking guys!!
However the fact was, I was going to go away and my Princess wud be here all alone''among so many wanna be 'Prince''huh!! Darn'I never cursed my fate more before!! But, wid all the cursing going on in my head'.my fate seemed to have minded a bit'.and so Diana came up to me asking'.if I cud accompany Kuhu in a dance!! For that fraction of second, I sent a flying kiss to my 'luck' and nodded my head in such a way'.like I was just doing a gud-boy 'favour'!!
And so the Prince & the Princess had their dance!! I had talked to her during that dance and that's when I had decided in my mind to call her 'Kuhu'!! Her voice was really sweet after all. Gosh' It was a blissful time'.both for me & Kuhu!! Now c'mon'.dont look at me like that'.she said so herself!! I am NOT making it up!! Okay fine'.she said'..she had a 'nice' tym dancing wid me!! Now'. 'nice' & 'blissful' don't mean totally different things na? So its'considerable!!!
But then the night was over and two days later'..I was to leave for NY!! All my frnds took the trouble of coming up to the airport as well'.but of course she didn't come!! Now who wud?? She hardly knws me'.ryt? So even I hadn't expected her!! And I went away wid that one night's memory of hers!!
In NY''I really tried to get over her'..as things didn't look very promising!! Most of the times'.I wud have nightmares regarding her'..that she has hooked up wid sum1. I wish I cud ask anyone abt her relationship status'.but no'.my Fate and its Irony!! I just cudnt do that'.huh!!
Now c'mon'.dont think am a loser!! I did chk Diana's FB account and Kuhu was there!! But darn'.the girl had so much Privacy to her account'.that I cud just see her name and the puppy picture that was her profile pic'.huh!! Again'.Irony of my Fate!!
I was losing all my hopes'.when one day my fate seemed to feel sorry for me. That day I was chatting wid Diana'.when suddenly she took me into a conference wid'guess who?? Kuhu!! My heart was leaping wid joy'.literally'..and I was screaming 'Yays' and 'Yippies' sitting on the chair!! My mom had literally run up to my room expressing her concern as to wat happened!! But phew'.I sent her away!!
And well, since that day things have been pretty cool for me. Being the smart guy that I am, I soon came to knw my Princess was very much single. She said she didn't want to indulge in relationships and all right then'..but I knw she was 'booked' for ME!! She was MY Princess after all.
Things progressed well btwn us'.when I used to go to California in intervals'.and had gradually succeeded in charming her!! She is now very much MY girl'..and the best news is'.I am going there for 2 long months!! I am gonna be wid her for the longest period till now!! But am actually a lil nervous. I was thinking of proposing to her'..umm'.for Marriage!! Its strange'.considering the fact that'.every time I rush up wid the 'love you' part'.so quickly that its hardly audible/understandable!! Now how on earth am I gonna ask for a marriage? Well, of course, marriage wont happen in a day'..it will take its own tym'.but I have to say it now'.or it will be way too delayed!! And again'..she must realize'.am very much serious and sure abt her!! She is and will always be my Princess'.my fairy-tale Princess!!
And the CD ends here!! It doesn't run anymore coz that was it. It was all he had recorded before going to California'..to her!! And so she knws the story afterwards!! How things had changed'..and why he didn't record anything more'.she knws it all. It was all becoz of her!!
Koyal keeps staring at the blank screen of the laptop as she drifts back to those memories. He had come to California for his vacation'.coz there were his frnds and HER!! They had spent quality time wid each other, either alone or in group!! Wid each passing day, she realized he meant a lot'.a lot more than she cud imagine!! And she also felt that he was there for something'.something serious and something that was really'ahh'.special!!
But before he cud say anything, she went thru a fatal accident which caused her legs to be paralyzed. There was 50-50 chance of her being well again. But she was scared!!
Koyal remembers a 'summary' of all their convos regarding the same issue!!
Koyal: Pranay I think'.we shud call it off.
Pranay: Call wat off?
Koyal: This relationship!!
Pranay: Stop kidding Kuhu!!
Koyal: I am not kidding at all Pranay!! Am serious!!
Pranay: Okay'I understand why u r saying this!! U must be scared'.thinking wat if things don't turn out to be f9 again!! But c'mon'.life is full of such difficulties'.u cant let go of me!! (he takes her hand in his) Trust me Kuhu'.we can deal wid this.
Koyal: (taking her hand back) Pranay'.pls stop trying to be the fairy-tale Prince of ur imagination!! Life is NOT a fairy-tale!! It seems so easy to u now'.but later on'.u'll feel burdened'.u'll be pissed off!!
Pranay: Kuhu'.how can u say that?? (takes a deep breath) Okay'we can talk abt it later on'.At first let ur luck be tested. Lets see if things turn out to be well again'.why r u being so negative from now only?
Koyal: No'.it can take a hell lot of a tym!! I cant let u waste that much tym on me!! U just leave Pranay!!
Pranay: Yeah right!! Like am gonna do whatever u order me to!!
Koyal: You have to!! I never asked a thing from u!! U have to do this for me.
Pranay: Stop trying to be the melo-dramatic heroine of sum Indian drama''stop all this sacrificial act of yours'.I've had enough!!
Koyal: So you r not going to listen to me!! (and she cant stop her tears anymore thinking abt all the pain she can cause to him and seeing her cry, he quickly kneels down to her) Pls Pranay'.stop making me feel to low'..so pathetic and helpless!! I don't wanna feel like this'.I don't wanna feel like am tying u down wid me!!
Pranay: But you r NOT doing that!!
Koyal: I donno anything!! But if u stay by me like this, am never gonna feel gud abt myself!!
Pranay: And my going away will make things better for u?
Koyal had managed to nod her head in a yes wid much difficulty!! At that Pranay had left and never cared to look back. Well, she always knew he never wud!! Coz he was hurt!! Very few ppl cud hurt him but when they actually did, he was not the one to forgive them so easily!! And she hurt him'.may be the most that anyone cud ever do to him!!
And now after more than one year, she was back'..and f9 as well. The treatment had worked and she was able to walk like before again!! But things cud not remain the same as before!! Specially Pranay!! He had of course graduated by now and was very much engrossed in his work'here in NY!! It was not like he had forgotten to live life and succumbed to the irony of his life'..he was never the one to give in!! But still'..the hurt that she had caused him'..was evident!!
As she met him yesterday, he didn't care to ask her how she was. In fact, he didn't even bother to look at her whereas his gaze used to always search for her and only her!!
Koyal: U wont even look at me?
Pranay: Does it matter? Whether I see it or not'.u r f9!!
Koyal: Pranay'. (and she didn't knw how to say it)
Pranay: Yes? (it was the formal tone that she had never heard from him)
Koyal: U wont forgive me ever?
Pranay: (smirks) Just cut the crap Koyal. (and she looks up as he addresses her as Koyal) Wat? Ohh'.u r no more my Kuhu, Koyal!! Coz the girl, whom I thought to be my Kuhu, never actually existed. It was all a part of my fairy-tale!! One god damn tale that I went on believing even when I grew up!! But never mind'.thats completely my concern!! U don't need to bother'.coz I am NOT bothering you!!
Koyal: I knw'.I hurt you!! But may God forbid'..had u been in my place, wudnt u have done the same?
Pranay: Sure!! I wud'.only if u had wanted so!! (after a pause) U jerked me away Kuhu'.and now there is no way back to 'us'!! 'We' are over!!
No matter how much he rejected her, she was still his 'Kuhu'. He had called her Kuhu again'.and so today she was going to try again!! She was basically at his home'..in his room!! And so she cud grab that CD on which he had drawn a heart shape.
And now after watching the CD, as she was done recalling the past, he rushed into his room!! Becoz as soon as he had reached home, his mom had informed him of her arrival.
Pranay: Wat on earth are u doing here?? (looks at the screen and realizes that she went thru the CD) Holy Crap!! U watched my personal stuff?? This is the limit Ku'.Koyal!!
Koyal: Stop deliberately turning that 'Kuhu' into 'Koyal'. I knw u still love me!!
Pranay: Really? I didn't knw u realize wat love is!! Gud improvement during this while. (and he claps) Congrats. Now u can leave!!
Koyal: Pls Pranay'.try and understand!! I was just unable to handle it. Pls don't give up on me!! I wont repeat such a thing again!!
Pranay: Again? There is no scope for an 'again' Koyal. This is Over!! 'WE' are over'for heaven's sake!! Get this thing into ur mind!!
Koyal: No ways. We cant be over!! Do u hear me'we cant be over!!
Pranay: Sorry dear'.this tym its MY call!! Back then, u had decided wat shud be done'.and now its tym to be fair!! This tym I decide!!
Koyal: Agreed. Its ur turn to decide this tym'..but will u deny that u still love me? Will u deny that am no more ur Princess?
Pranay: Nope'I wont deny a thing!! I haven't learnt to lie or manipulate my words!! I was firm back then'and I still stand to my words!!! You have always been the one I have loved'no matter if some parts of 'you' have been my imagination!! And no matter how many girls I have cum across in my entire life, you have been the only one I fell for'..coz you are and will always be my fairy-tale Princess!! But then'.life is not a fairy-tale ryt? So things cant get so easy!! We cannot get a fairy-tale life!!
Koyal: But Pranay'
Pranay: All is said and done by you Kuhu. There is no more to add. I wont trust you again. Who knws'.if sumthing happens to me in future'u'll perhaps leave me worrying abt the difficulties of life!!
Koyal: (a tear rolls down her cheek) You cant say that Pranay!! U knw I'll never do that!! I will never leave you!!
Pranay: I just knw one thing'and that is'.you must leave!! And pls never try to see me again. (she looks down at that) Oh well, u must have been invited to Diana's wedding'..back in California. None of us can really avoid that'.but mind you, u are not gonna be anywhere near me'.got it? I don't want to talk to u again'.and that's wat I decide this tym around!! You may leave now!!
This time Pranay jerks her away and she feels his pain to a gr8 extent!! But she cud still justify it wid his anger whereas he was simply thrown away!!
Two days before the wedding'..at night'..Koyal was talking to Diana. After an extent, she cant control herself and bursts out crying.
Diana: C'mon Koyal'.u just cant keep crying!! U shud try again.
Koyal: No'he is angry!! He is very angry!! He shud not be pushed anymore. I don't wanna hurt him more.
Diana: Wud u shut up girl? U didn't think of it back then!! U cud do all the wrong things without giving a thought to how Pranay wud feel'..and now u cant do the right things? This is outrageous!!
Koyal: But he is not ready to listen to me!!
Diana: Wats there to listen, sweetheart? I mean'U were wrong!! U can no way justify that!!
Koyal: Then wat am I supposed to do?
Diana: (slaps her forehead) U were not this much dumb before!! The accident really affected u hard!! Anyways'.u r supposed to get him out of his anger bubble!! Burst that bubble upon yourself'.so that he gets rid of all the frustration and pain in one go!! Listen Koyal, he is just angry and hurt!! Help him get away wid it.
Koyal: U mean'.I shud instigate him more? So that he vents out his anger on me?
Diana: Kinda yes. But well, pls w8 till my wedding is done. U knw'Pranay really has a bad temper!! He can shout pretty loudly.
Koyal: Stop scaring me!! Instead give me ideas on how I can do that.
Diana: Ask him to drop u at home'..and try to talk to him in the car. I am sure'.he wont throw u out of his moving car!!
Koyal: Why wud he care to drop me home?
Diana: Coz u'll be going to the church wid me in my car'.and will not be having ur own car there!! I am sure Pranay will drop u off!!
Koyal: Yeah right, he will. And we both will end up meeting an accident coz he'll be shouting at me in the car'.instead of driving attentively!! That was a lame idea huh!!
On the day of the wedding, the bride and groom leave the church in their car as the wedding is over!! Pranay is abt to leave when Koyal cums to him.
Koyal: Pls drop me home!!
Pranay looks back at her and then looks around to find that she didn't have her car!! He doesn't say a word and gets in the car while she runs to the other side to occupy the passenger seat!!
Pranay was going on driving as if she were not in the car!! And then suddenly she asks him to take a turn.
Pranay: But ur house is straight ryt?
Koyal: Ahh'we have shifted. (she lied to buy sum time'or else he wud just drop her off)
Pranay: U did? (he asks suspiciously)
Koyal: Of course Pranay!! I knw where I live, don't I?
Pranay: Sure u do. Tell me the directions!!
And for the next 20 mins Pranay keeps driving from one lane to another, but doesn't seem to reach her house!! Whenever he wud ask her, she wud tell him to take the next right or left and soon he realized that he was repeating a lane. So he stopped the car and looked at her!!
Koyal: Wat happened? Why did u stop the car?
Pranay: So now u lie to me!!
Koyal: (looks down) Pls Pranay'
Pranay: I already told u Koyal, I don't want to hear a thing from u!!
Koyal: I don't want u to hear Pranay!! I want u to say'..just say it all. I knw u r hurt, u r angry'.just get it all on me!! And relieve urself.
Pranay: Enough of ur crap Kuhu. Am taking u bak to home.
Koyal: (getting down from the car) I wont go anywhere!!
Pranay: (opens the car door and stands out) Now where do u plan to go?
Koyal: I don't knw. I wont go home. (and she starts walking ahead)
Pranay: (murmurs) Gr8!! Here she goes adamant again!! (locks the car and walks behind her and soon catches up) Pls Kuhu'.this is getting insane!! Walk back to the car!!
Koyal: I wont. (and she desperately and quite ruthlessly wipes the unshed tears from her eyes)
Pranay: Pls Kuhu'.why r u being so difficult again?
Koyal: Coz this tym it doesn't matter!! I don't mean a thing to you now, so let it go. In fact, u can just go'..I'll be f9'
Pranay: Without me!! Ryt? (and she looks at him) Wow Kuhu'.u have said it again!! And this implies I was right, u are always better off without me!!
And she sees his jaw getting harder as he says those words wid immense pain. She quickly hugs him tightly and breaks down in his arms.
Koyal: I am sorry Pranay. I really am!! I promise'.I will never do such a thing again. Blv me, I never doubted your love for me, I knew u will always be there!! Its just I cudnt be brave enough to deal wid my own lacking and I pushed u away. I tried to act gr8 so that I don't feel any guilt myself. I hurt you so that I am hurt less. I was selfish Pranay'.and I still am!! That's why I want u back'..I knw I am not worthy of ur love, but still I want you!! Becoz, even I hav had my own fairy-tale dream where u fitted in to be my Prince charming!! And I cant let it all break apart!!
Pranay: Ohh'and now u have the audacity to let me knw all this!! U r simply'.
Koyal: Sorry Pranay!! I promise'I wont'
Pranay: I knw'u wont repeat it again!! Stop repeating ur words at least Kuhu!!
Koyal: So u forgive me?
Pranay: Lets go to the car.
Koyal: No first say it.
Pranay: Say wat?
Koyal: That u forgive me!! That I am very much ur Kuhu'. ur Princess!!
Pranay: U still have a doubt on that?
Koyal just shakes her head in denial and walks back to the car...a bit sadly though!! A lil later Pranay just shakes his head, catches up to her, wraps his arm around her and whispers, "You are and will always be my fairy-tale Princess"
