Chapter-3
As Devraj ended his call with his man, he sat back in his car and motioned the driver to start driving. He always made sure he cross checked all his workers before he hired them. It was a routine procedure but usually his juniors issued the orders and took pains. He was more curios about Naina because he knew that beauty always conceals danger. He found himself strangely attracted towards this young lady who seemed very useful. He could sense that she had the ability to control people and one of them could be him. But playing with danger was his habit and profession.
The driver drove around, taking the longest possible route to reach the place called as home of Devraj. Devraj lived in a typical grand palace like place complete with swimming pools and private gyms. But it was more like a hotel. Since he was alone, without any family, some of his highly trusted men and security guards lived there in alloted rooms. There were no women except the ones who were called there for parties by his men. It had vast lawns to flank its doors, an open hallway and beautifully done interiors. But this beauty was just a distraction as visitors were unknowingly watched upon by laser cameras. The vast lawns were to ensure that nobody could sneak in. The house covered a bigger area than it seemed as it was in slight hills. The underground part was not visible to anyone, so it was hard to guess the actual size.Every feature was exclusively inspected by Devraj himself to ensure max safety. A security breach was possible in White House, but not in Devraj's house.

He made his way to his room, climbing the carpeted stairs. When he arrived to his room, he pressed his finger against the screen and entered a code. The machine took a second to verify them and the door to his suite opened. It was a breathtaking view. The wall opp to the door was almost completely made of glass from where moonlight was puoring in. Despite the lights being switched off, the whole place shone brightly. A beautiful view of mountains was visible behind the glass. There was a heated swimming pool in the centre of the room. One one side, a king sized bed ws placed and on other side a sofa set made of velvet and leather. Behind this there was abar conter graced with finest wines of the world.One corner was taken up by a writing desk and other by a walk-in wardrobe.There were priceless antiques to decorate the whole room..if only such a large place could be called a room. Devraj moved inside and removed his coat. He hung it in the cupboard, took out his bathrobe and went for a hot water bath in his jacuzzi. It completely relaxed him. He dried himself and made himself a strong drink. He dropped on his couch and closed his eyes, taking a long swig from the glass, feeling it burn away his throat. As he threw his head back, Naina's face came in front of his eyes. He smiled but then suddenly opened his eyes. He did not know why but she reminded him of something he was not too willing to remember. Closing his eyes again, he slipped into a comfortable position. Again he saw a face...This time not Naina's but of another girl, with an innocent smile, soft brown eyes and locks surrounding her pretty face. He jumped out of shock and opened his eyes. It was a minute before he could calm himself again. He was breathing fast and beads of sweat were visible on his forehead. He wiped them off and a single thought came to his mind
"Itne saalo baad bhi....kyu"
Then he gripped himself from getting too emotional. He finished his drink and took the whole bottle and drunk it in one go. Dropping it on the floor, he got up and made way to his bed, swaying because of the drinks. He reached the bed and fell into deep sleep.
This used to be a routine for Devraj to get these nightmares until sometime back ago when they almost stopped and then disappeared. But tonight, again the same thing was troubling him.... The only thing Devraj was scared to face in his whole life.
Next morning Devraj reis his normal routine, Inspecting tasks, solving problems and devising loopholes for newly devised laws. This was his life, power packed and never dull. And he loved it that way... Where he had uncontrollable power. He literally ran the city of New York.
After a few days he recieved a file in his office marked as "NAINA ROY". Excited, he opened it and started to read her biography. Hardly ant information was available about her background and childhood.The only thing mentioned was that she was an orphan living alone in an orphanage in Mumbai where somebody once offered her some illegal work. From there she started smuggling, continuing it for years and never got caught. She collected money and came to Las Vegas, where the luck favoured her and she won a lot of money in casinos. At that place Samuel Wellington noticed her talent of blacking out people with her beauty and charm and hired her. Devraj finished reading and was impressed. He was satisfied and sure that this girl was the key he had been searching for many years. The perfect dedicated worker who would take him to new heights. He checked his schedule and found that he was supossed to go for a deal with man called Black. He hated that guy because he was practically a fool. He got up and left for the designated place. Along with him, his most trusted hitman, Karan accompanied him. Karan was the only person he had brought along from India. He was his sole what one could call as friend.
Arriving upon there, he found Samuel twitching his fedora and Naina seated in the passenger seat of his limo. He felt happy to see her over there. Black, a short stubby man arrived at the hotel and their meeting commenced. Devraj took his place in the conference room. Naina sat opposite to him. Their eyes met and they exchanged a formal smile. All through the meeting Devraj could feel his gaze constantly flitting to Naina who sat looking bored. His eyes moved from her face to the collar of the crisp white shirt she was wearing, down to her perfectly ironed black suit. A part of his mind said she looked gorgeous. Suddenly Naina looked at him and he averted his gaze.
After the meeting was over, and Devraj had all his terms met and got control over the area he wanted, he rose to leave. He stopped near Samuel who bowed his head in acknowledgement.
Devraj:"Goodafternoon Wellington
Samuel:"Goodafternoon Devraj...How are you? What can I do for you?
Devraj:I want a favour from you...
Samuel:"Yes..What do you want?
Devraj:"Naina
Naina who was standing beside Samuel looked up sharply. Devraj ignored her reaction."
Samuel:"What do you mean Devraj?"
Devraj:"Yesterday Naina saved my life and I am really impressed... I want to hire her. I asked her but she said she was working for you... So you are her master... I know she is a gem of your collection and I am willing to pay any price for her...Anything you ask.. Just give me this girl."
Samuel stared at Devraj as he took in his unusual request. He himself was very fond of Naina and would have refused anyone but Devraj didnt fall into the anyone category. At first he didnt react then looked at Devraj who was waiting politely and at Naina who stood there expressionless. Then he cleared his throat and said
"Ermmm....fine...you can take Naina...I must say Devraj in one meeting only you have guessed her worth... I dont want a price for her.."
Devraj smiled:"Thankyou Samuel....So Naina will you work for me? Lets settle terms.."
Naina gave him a chilling smile and said
"Sure...It will be a pleasure working with you Mr. Devraj"
