"What Guruji is going to come tomorrow!" Hukumsa said in an anxious tone. "Munim we need to go home a lot of prep needs to be done. Call Raghav too...aaa here he comes." " I just got call from Buasa she told me Guru Dadaji is coming and we should leave for home. But Babasa what are we going to do there...arrangements can be handled by Maasa and Bua sa." "I know beta but she said theres some sort of emergency. So we are asked to come. Munim you take care of the affairs tomorrow. "
They both left for home while Munimsa went to take Kalpi. Her office was nearby. While returning home Munimsa talked about Guruji and his arrival. Kalpi on hearing this got attentive. The incidents that took place had disturbed her thoughts and along with Raghav even she needed answers. Munimsa told her about his absence tomorrow as he will be busy with the office work since he will be alone. It was a clear indication to her that if possible she should not visit the palace as its going to be a Royal Affair and she isn't one. She lowered her head but obeyed her fathers unsaid instructions.
When Hukumsa and Raghav reached home they got to know about Maasa's hand injury. While cutting fruits she accidently cut her hand and now she is unable to cook. "Maasa are you okay...is the cut deep...is it paining a lot." "Not much..." "Bhaisa the cut isn't deep but yes tomorrow she cannot cook the food." "But why on earth does Maasa needs to cook when chef is there" Raghav said angrily as everyone was just reiterating about her inability to cook. "Its the custom beta. Guruji and his ancestors have been guiding us since generations and as per the Ritual whenever they visit our or any of the Royal palace the cooks are not allowed to enter into the kitchen." "Fine then you will cook tomorrow Buasa even you are a Royal." "But I am daughter of this house...neither I nor Nandini can cook for him. As per the customs the food should be prepared by daughter in law of the house or by any other Royal not related to the family."
All this while he was curious to get his answers but now the problem was who will do the preparations. Suddenly Buasa said "Lets call Priyam the princess of Sumergarh,our family has strong ties with them, ask her if she can come and do the needful." "Thats a good idea. Nandini go and bring my phone I'll call her. Relief seeped into her eyes. Never ever this has happen before that she has been unable to cook the food or take care of other arrangements.
In Morning Priyam arrived on time and she started with the dishes that she was suppose to make. The menu was given to her about what Guruji prefers to eat. All the preparations were to be done by her alone. No one was allowed to help her. She was inwardly happy coz the ritual she was carrying out is to be done by daughter in law and if she carries them out properly may be she does score a chance to be Raghav's wife.
Raghav was wondering why Kalpi was not present in the house. He had decided to bring up the matter before Guruji together with Kalpi.But her absence was annoying him. Guruji arrived and all his thoughts shifted on that one man who probably has all the answers he needed to clear the air.
He was welcomed by Raghav as per his fathers instructions.He did his Aarti and after washing his feet he gestured him to come in. Impressed with his mannerisms Guruji smiled at him, a smile which concealed more than revealing anything.
"Guruji I need to talk to you if you please allow me." He asked gently taking care of the fact that no body looks at them. "I know what you want to ask." He was shocked...how can he know what I want to ask..."Wait till Sunday" He looked onto him and somewhere agreed with Kalpi that he has all the answers.
Guruji went to the small temple room made in the palace and prayed. He tied a dhaga on his hand and said you my get harassed by her but let me assure you she won't be able to harm you physically as long as you have faith on yourself. There is no need to be afraid of her. Remember Time has chosen you. He gave a dhaga to him and continued"Keep it with yourself and tie it on Kalpi's hand." "Ok" was all that he could manage to say. There was something in his apperance, his aura carried an unknown sacredeness. Now he realised why everyone in his house respects him so much...if he is like this his ancestors would have surely more than him. He lowered his head in respect.
The meeting went smoothly and now it was time for Guruji's lunch post tht he was going to leave. Priyam was ready with the food and came outside. Everybody was shocked except Raghav who was a complete stranger to all the customs. She laid the food in dining table and requested Guruji to have a seat and taste the food. When she opened the lid of the food all were shocked yet again.
"Do you know what I eat" He asked in a composed tone but it reflected he wasn't happy. "Actually Guruji M a daughter so I never stepped into kitchen to know what you eat or anything else." She said in the most careless tone that she can use. He smiled and said "Well as a matter of fact you will one day become daughter in law of a Royal family, won't you." She lowered her head in shame.
" I should leave. Madhav" He stepped towards the entrance but was stopped by Hukumsa. Indeed it was big insult of Guruji."I am sorry Guruji...please wait I'll do something and after good 15 minutes he picked out his phone and called Kalpana. He knew Guruji is fond of her. "Kalpi beta can you come to the palace. Its an emergency." "Ok Hukumsa I m coming." She sensed the tension hidden in his voice. She changed her clothes and wore appropriate one and went towards the Palace in hurry.
The tense situation changed a bit when she came in. A smile graced his lips. She immediately covered her head with her stole and bowe before him for blessings. He blessed her. Somewhere she hold a special place in his life. She is the one and probably only girl who talks to him by looking staright in his eyes. Her eyes carried the immense respect she has for him. She was the one who called him Dadaji since her father called her Guruji and she being daughter called him Guru Dadaji. He readily accepted his new name from 3 year old Kalpi then who met him in his Ashram and from that day their relation went all together on a different level. She visited his Ashram every year to meet him but never ever came to Palace when he was there. He knew her father doesn't like taking benefits of being close to Royal family. She is special to him and he is fond of her was something that the entire Royal family knew and when they saw Kalpi coming in they heaved a sigh of relief.
"Aap kaise hai Guru Dadaji" "Hum thik hai...aur aapko yaha dekh kar toh aur bhi jyada thik ho gaye." Madhav smiled while she polietly asked him "Aap kaise hai." "Hum thik hai." Raghav was suprised to see the ease with which she talked to them. Here his whole family was dreaded by the situation that raised before them and she is talkibg to him as if he is actually her Dadaji. And the change in Guruji's body language surprised him more.
"Kalpana...see he is going from her without having lunch. Just request him to stay here and have food." Kalpi was confused and her big eyes reflected it all. Hukumsaa narrated the entire incident and she concluded what she has to do. "Dadaji aap bas hume thoda waqt dijiye hum aapke liye khana banakar laate hai." "Thik hai par sirf 2 ghante hai aapke paas." She nodded and asked Makhan to call Mala.
Everybody was surprised with this sudden change of events. Guruji has actually agreed to stay but what wondered them the most was How come Kalpi knows about what he eats and all the traditions attached to it. But then nobody was in a position to stay anything. They couldn't afford to offend Guruji.
Kalpi for the first time came into the kitchen to cook. She has come n number of times here but never ever cooked coz she is a common person and apart from chefs hired no body was allowed to cook. She started making the food abd gave instructions to Mala while Makhan helped Mala to carry it out. All were seated outside. There was pin drop silence and no one attempted to break it.
After almost 1and a half hour Kalpi came out and went straight to the Aangan and asked the servants to lay a white mattress on the floor. Two small tables were kept. She went inside and then two servants came out carrying silver utensils which were laid on those tables. She asked Makhan to call Raghav inside. "What happened Kalpi any problem." "No...nothing of that sort...since Badimasa has injured her hand and she didn't cook the food so all the rituals carried out by Babasa will have to be done by you." "Matlab..." She explained him the entire thing.
Raghv came out and helped Guruji and Madhav in washing his hands and then he served the food. Full time he was standing there and was serving whatever was asked or was needed. Everybody was surprised at the scene unfolding before them. This was exactly needed to be done and Kalpi did it even though she wasn't a Royal Blood. When they were finished Raghv helped them yet again in washing hands and gave them Tulsi leaves at the end.
Amazed about how Kalpi knows it...Guruji asked "Kalpi how come you know about my taste...when I never ate anything in your house in fact I never ever visited your house."
"Guru dadaji two years before I came to Ashram to meet you but you had gons to visit a Royal family. I decided to wait for you and thats when Madhavji came and met me. Out of curiosity I asked him whats your visit like in th Royal Family and he told me the entire thing. That is how I got to know."
Surprised...amazed...stunned these words seemed empty to express how grateful the entire family was to her. This again proved why Guruji and Kalpi shared a special bond. Raghav who was already attracted to her seemed overly impressed with her somewhere proud of his choice.
Guruji left and before anybody could thank her she immediately rushed towards Badimasa and asked her about her injury. She blessed her for saving the grace of family.
"Guruji you knew everything already. Then why did you ask her." "Coz they didn't know. They had no idea how Kalpi knows about my habits and it was necessary. And this isn't important...I guess you didn't notice...Raghav together with Kalpi performed all the rituals of son and daughter in law. Now you get it." He smiled again enigmaticalky and Madhav joined in.
So Guruji not only came and gave protection to Raghav and Kalpi but also made a way for Kalpi to become daughter in law of Royal Family.
Sometimes few things are destined. But they need let out to mould themselves. Raghav and Kalpi are destined to be together but they needed Guruji to make a ground of their beginning. Now that they are temporarily safe from the unknown the journey of love and unveiling the mystery begins.
