CHAPTER 20: GRANDMA BRINGS GROOM

Next morning, Pakya brings home ajji. Everyone seeks her blessings while she asks about Kalpi's results. Vitthal changes the topic but again after sometime she brings it up. She understood that Kalpi failed in her exams. She says "Fail hogayi kya Kalpi? Arey maine toh pehele hi kaha tha ki Kalpi pe itne paise kharch mat karo. Ab bhugto ho gayi ye fail. Itne paise agar Pakya pe kharch kiye hotey na toh aaj yeh acchi khasi naukri kar raha hota. Yun graduation ki degree liye yahan vahan nahi ghumta." Pakya made an irritating face and was about to leave the room. But stooped hearing what ajji said next "Ab iske haath peele karne ki tayiyaari karo. Jitni jaldi shaadi hogi utni jaldi iska bojh utrega sar se." Pakya got really angry when ajji called Kalpi a bojh. He left the house with a thud. Vitthal sternly told ajji that Kalpi is not any responsibility. She is a daughter and he is proud to be her father.
Ajji went down to the temple when Manda told about the bribing issue. Ajji decided to get Kalpi married as soon as possible. While Kamla decides to give Kalpi a second chance and thus asked ajji for 24 hours and if Kalpi doesn't find a job within 24 hours then she herself would get Kalpi married. Kalpi at once set out in search of a job. Manda goes and informs this to Neetu and she is all happy hearing it. While Pakhi is not at all satisfied with this news and leaves from there. Here aaji calls up a guy and asks him to come and meet the family. When the guy comes she introduces him to the whole family. But when Kalpi doesn't turn up the guy leaves the place while ajji is fuming in anger.
Pakhi gets the appointment letter from Raghav's company. Sahil asks her to join her family business and he would make her the M.D. but Pakhi refuses. Neetu is about to slap her when Sahil holds her hand. Prem witnesses everything and confides with Pakhi working in Singhania constructions. Pakhi is shocked at Prem's approval and so is Neetu and Sahil. Neetu goes to Prem and asks the reason for his approval. Prem tells Neetu that when his own sister will be in Raghav's office then it will be more easier for them to get through him. Neetu understands his plan.
On the other hand,Kalpi goes around in search of a job but is unable to find a suitable one due to her results. She goes back home but stops seeing the guy there. She runs back to the hotel and asks them to give the job of waiteress. The manager says that since she doesn't have any previous experience so she will be under training and will get no salary but will get the afternoon meals. Kalpi agrees to it and goes back home. Here ajji starts shouting at Kalpi once she reaches home and is about to slap when Kamla comes in between and takes the hit on her "Meri beti pe haath uthane ka hak maine kisi ko nahi diya hai aai. Agar aapko sazaa deni hai toh mijhe dijiye." Kalpi tells Kamla that she got a job and has to start from the next day. Ajji goes out telling "Mai bhi dekhti hoon yeh kaise memsaab banti hai."
At night, Pakhi is driving back home when her car breaks down. Some drunk guys come and start misbehaving with her. Raghav yet again happens to be there and goes to help the Damsel in Distress. He punches one guy and makes Pakhi sit in the car. He then takes out a wine bottle from the other side and walks upto the guys. The guys become happy seeing the wine bottle in Raghav's hand and asks for the girl too. Raghav goes to them and says "Gaari aur sharab ka combination amazing hota hai vo bhi tab jab saath mein aag ho." He takes ot the lighter and adds "Kaash koi photo kheech raha hota. Film ka poster ban jaata. Hawas ki aag." saying so he threw the lighter in air. Pakhi screamed and he asked her to shut up as she was way too irritating. He offered water to Pakhi which surprised her to ther core. Raghav then says "Kya? Main losers pe sharab waste nahi karta." Raghav drops Pakhi home and tries to ask about her and Kamla maa's relation but he did not gain much. He leaves the place after dropping Pakhi while the latter kept drooling over him.
Aaji goes down to the temple and tells bappa "Deva mai Kalpi ki ajji hoon. Bohot pyar karti hoon usse. Usey zindagi mein kabhi tootne mat dena deva. Maine Kalpi ko darwaaze ke bahar dekh liya tha deva aur yeh shaadi waali baat usey uksaane ke liye hi kit hi. Kalpi aur Pakya meri jaan hai. Unn dono ko zindagi mein har vo khushi dena jo unki kismet mein ho aur har mushkil se ladne ki takat dena." The family goes to bed having their dinner. But sleep is far from Kalpi. She keeps tossing and turning on her bed.
On the other side someone else is going through the same problem. Raghav too is unable to get some sleep. He keeps thinking about Kalpi and her future "Ab Kalpi kya karegi? Kaise karegi vo Kamla maa ka sapna poora? Oh god please usey himmat dena aur uski madat karna." With that the two disturbed souls drifted off to sleep. When so many people wish for the same thing with a pure heart then how on earth will it not get fulfilled. So will Kalpi get her ek mutthi asmaan? Will Raghav understand his feelings for Kalpi? Will Kalpi find her knight in shining armour? Stay tuned for the next chapter.
