AN EMOTIONAL UPDATE FOR A MISUNDERSTANDING FILLED EPISODE.

CHAPTER 19: CASE OF BRIBING

"ALWAYS WALK ON THE PATH OF TRUTH. YOU LIE ONCE AND PAY FOR IT WHOLE LIFE."

Kalpi thought she had no other way than to give the money to the professor. She was worried but thinks that once her actual results everything will be fine. Ya surely everything would be fine but not so soon. She borrowed money from other students. But the money she required was a huge figure. Thus she sold her laptop for money. She went and gave the money to the professor but the professor asked her to write the missing papers infront of him and only then he would attach them and make a new result. Though Kalpi bribed the professor for re-evaluation yet she took the wrong step by bribing. Neetu comes to the professor and is informed that Kalpi has given him the money. Neetu smiles wickedly and tells him what to do next. The professor understands the plan perfectly and assures her that nothing would go wrong. While Neetu said "Ab dekhti hoon main Kamla, Kalpi tere sapne kaise poore karti hai. Bai ki beti hai bai hi banegi." But what can you do when destiny choses the opposite.

While going back home she gets a call from Kamla asking her whereabouts but alas! She lied "Main bas aa hi rahi hoon aai. Aur tu chinta mat kar main pass hui hoon. Meri teen answer sheets kho gayi thi. Ab vo unhe mil gayi hain aur vo ek naya result tayiyaar karenge." Kamla was happy hearing it and disconnected the call. Here Kalpi felt miserably guilty for lying. She reached home and kept her bag on the bed. Pakya lifted her bag when he felt it lighter than ever. He opened it and found that the laptop was missing "Arey Kalpi tera laptop kahan hai? Bag mein toh nahi hai." Kalpi flushed but said that she gave it to one of her friend as she had some work. Vitthal sensed something fishy but kept quite. On the other hand Pakya sensed Kalpi lying about the laptop but still remained quite and waited for the right time to ask "Mujhe aisa kyun lag raha hai ki Kalpi jhooth bol rahi hai? Kya baat ho sakti hai? Baad mein poochta hoon." Little did he know what was awaiting them.

It's evening and the professor comes to the chawl. Kalpi noticed him from upstairs and ran towards him before anyone could see him. Here Kamla comes from the other side and saw Kalpi walking hastily towards the man. She went and asked the man about his visit. The professor told that Kalpi gave him money to pass the exams. Kalpi was shocked as this was not the reason for which she gave the money. The professor leaves from there and once out of the chawl he calls Neetu and tells that he had done his work. Neetu was very happy. Here Kalpi tries to explain but Kamla gives a tight slap to her. vitthal comes and Kamla tells him everything. Kamla leaves from there while Kalpi explains everything to her baba. Vitthal understands her dilemma and asks her to talk to Kamla. She goes up and explains to Kamla. Kamla says "Agar humein galat rasta hi apna na hota toh main aur tere baba tum dono ke liye itni mushkilein nahi uthatey." Pakya knew something was not right but he was too hurt. He scolded Kalpi for her deed "Yeh tune kya kiya Kalpi. Rishwat de di tune. Chi Kalpi chi." And goes from there. Pakhi came to meet Kamla and was shocked to know what Kalpi did. She was hurt seeing Kamla's condition and left the place immediately. She went home and told daadi everything. Daadi assured her that everything would be fine "Kalpi ko hum bachpan se jantey hain. Mujhe nahi lagta vo aisa kuch kar sakti hai. Aur agar kiya bhi hoga toh zaroor koi majboori rahi hogi. Sab theek ho jayega Pakhi." Neetu came and said that she knows Kamla is upset but why to spoil the party mood. Pakhi at once gets alert and asks "Aapko kaise pata ki Kamla maa Kalpi se naraaz hai??" Neetu sternly says "Haan Kalpi ko maine hi fail karvaya hai. Arey sab kuch main hi karti hoon kya. Main toh yahan bas party ka poochne aayi thi." Pakhi gets up and walks out with daadi while Neetu wickedly thinks "Iss baar main kisi ko pata nahi chalne doongi. Na Pooki ko aur na Sahil ko."

Kalpi was crying profusely on the terrace when Pakya came and sat beside her "Main janta hoon meri Kalpi kabhi koi galat kaam nahi kar sakti. Par iss baar tune galat kiya hai. Tujhe kya zaroorat thi uss professor ki baat manne ki. Bol toh sakti thi na apne iss dada ko." Kalpi looked up at her brother with teary eyes and hugged him "Main bohot darr gayi thi dada. Mujhe laga ki agar main unhe paise nahi doongi toh vo mera paper recheck nahi karenge aur mujhe fail kar denge." She cried her heart out and Pakya sat there consoling his angel, his little sister "Accha sun. Kal ajji aa rahi hai. Unse abhi tak kuch kaha nahi hai. Isiliye dhyan rakhna. Thik hai." Kalpi nodded her head in a yes.

Next morning, Sammy gets a call about Kalpi's bribing issue. He gets shocked on learning that Kalpi bribed for passing the exams. He went out to tell the news to Raghav. Here Raghav starts reading the newspaper when Sammy comes and sits beside him "Tu phir yeh duniya bhar ki udaas khabrein padhne laga. Kya shock hai tujhe Raghav." Without looking up from the paper he said "Ek kahavat hai Sammy. Agar charon taraf logon pe hotey atyacharon ko dekhoge toh apne saath hui buraiyan kam nazar ayengi." Sammy was irritated and thus said "Haan haan. Iska logic kuch kuch mujhe bhi pata hai. Vaise ek aur buri khabar daal doon teri jholi mein. Kalpana Jadav ne bribe de kar exams mein pass hone ki koshish ki hai." Raghav was shocked would be an understatement . Sammy waited for him to reply "Kya hua ab kuch nahi bolega kya?" Raghav didn't know what to say "Kya sunna chahata hai tu? Agar usne aisa kiya hai toh bohot galat kiya hai Sammy." Sammy looked at him confused "Tera matlab usne aisa nahi kiya?" Raghav looked at him and said "Maine aisa nahi kaha Sammy." Sammy was totally confused now "Tu kya kehena chahata hai mujhe kuch samajh nahi aa raha." Raghav kept the paper aside and said "Kamla maa. Vo ek bohot hi sacchi aurat hai Sammy. Bachpan mein bhi ek baar Kalpi par chori ka ilzam laga tha." Sammy knew about the thing "Haan pata hai. Tune hi bataya tha mujhe. Aur tab bhi tune hi usey innocent prove kiya tha." Raghav was back to his thinking mode. Later that night, Raghav was pacing up and down in his room "Yeh kaise ho sakta hai. Kalpi rishwat de hi nahi sakti hai. Koi toh baat zaroor hai. Lekin pata kaise lagaoon." Raghav didn't know what to do and thus decided to wait for the right time. He went off to sleep thinking about Kalpi. While the next day was bringing new and difficult challenges for Kalpi.
