A Twisted Tale Part 4

It's has been two days since Raghav's accident. He was unconscious for more than 36 hour. Everyone, Kamla, Vithal, Pakiya along with Pakhi, has visited him except Kalpi. He was waiting for her but traced no signs of her being around.

Raghav's POV: Why didn't she come, is she still mad at me. What should I do to make things go right between us.

He was still thinking when Sammy and doctor entered the room. Doctor saw the Raghav's progress report.

Doctor: You are lucky that wounds are healing fast. But you are still weak and need not to stress yourself (he instructed). (Turns towards Sammy) Though i'll give every detail to his fianc I think u too should understand it.

Sammy and Raghav almost gulped air hearing that

Raghav: my fianc?? (looking at Sammy)

Doctor saw the shocked expression on Raghav's face and said, "yesss, woman scares the hell out of a man (empathetic look)."

Doc: But I think u r a lucky man to have such a caring fiance, she didn't leave ur side for a moment when u were unconscious. Right Sammy???

Sammy: (gives blank look) yeaaah right.

Raghav bombarded Sammy with dozens of questions after doc left the room.

Raghav: What was that?? My fiance... who the hell was he talking about? What have you done this time Sammy????/ Answer meee (almost yelling)

Don't get hyper... i'll tell u everything. When we brought u here the doctor refused to treat u.. without ur family member's signature, I told them I'm the only family u have but nothing worked, So, I registered Kalpi as ur fiance in the form That's it... Sammy said everything in one go.

Raghav: so what u r telling me is that Kalpi was here with meee???

Sammy: All the time!!

Raghav: Then y didn't she come to meet me (this question was really killing him)??

Sammy: survivor's guilt!!! She blames herself for ur this condition.

Raghav: How can she.. it wasn't her fault but my choice... goddd (sighs heavily), I wanna meet her, where is she?

Sammy: I sent her home in the morning. But she will be here in one hour.

Raghav & Sammy discussed what had happened after his accident. He told Raghav about everything from work to Kalpi and Kalpi to work :-P then he left.

All this while, Kalpi was thinking only about her equation with Raghav. She came on one solution That SHE OVEREACTED'. She knew Raghav is not bad at heart & he did save her life. She decided to forget everything. Sammy has told her that it wasn't her fault she felt herself responsible for Raghav's accident.

After one hour Raghav saw Pakhi & Kalpi entering his room carrying white lilies. Raghav observed Kalpi carefully she looked pale and tired.

Pakhi: arey Sir...yeh Sammy kahan hai? kahin nazar nahi aa raha?

Raghav: ghar gaya hai...kuch kaam aagaya tha uscey...

Pakhi: (in mock anger ) uski yeh himmat...aise kaise chala gaya...

Just then her cell phone buzzed, Neetu was calling her, she excused herself and left the room

Kalpi placed the flowers in a flower vase. She asked without looking into Raghav's eyes and it hurt Raghav more than his wounds.

Kalpi: How r u feeling? (shaky voice)

Raghav: better now.

(Silenceee) Kalpi turned to leave but Raghav held her hand. She turned around to look.

Raghav: Don't do this to urself, it wasn't ur fault but my choice. And about the party m so sorry but trust me I had no intentions of hurting ur sentim... (could not complete the sentence)

Kalpi: No, I'm sorry i overreacted. And I trust you (looking into his eyes)

Raghav: (disbelievingly) So we are good??

Kalpi: (smiles) Yes we are good.

Raghav: haaa!!! btw thnx for being here with me and thnx for everything

Kalpi: Even you would have done the same.

Kalpi: waise how did you two (Raghav & Sammy) spend your day today? did you have fun?... (Changes the topic)

Raghav: (sarcastically) yeah...we had so much fun...that I didn't think I could stand it any longer...beemar main tha aur saara din so woh raha tha...ek pal ko tho mujhe yeh lagne laga tha ki patient woh hai aur main visitor ...

Kalpi: (smiling ) that sounds like Sammy...

Raghav: (he didn't like the way she took his name) if you want me to recover at all...do me a favour...next time ask Sammy to stay with me only in the nite...at least tab main bhi so raha honga...

Kalpi started laughing at this & Raghav could not resist looking at her with awww kinda look. Kalpi realising this stopped talking.

Kalpi: (to herself) Kalpi...say something...anything...this is getting really awkward...(she could still feel Raghav's gaze on her)...I can't just keep on looking at the walls or flowers the whole time...I have to face him at some point or the other...(suddenly noticing one of the bouquets kept on the table)...

Kalpi: (finally looking at Raghav)...somebody must be really mad at you...to have given you that bouquet...

Raghav: (a little lost in his thoughts)...hunh??...(realizing what she had just said)...oh...the bouquets...yeah even I thought the same when I looked at the cactus...surprisingly...people sent me a lot of cactus plants...I had no idea that so many people hated me...

Kalpi: (smiling)...not the cactus...cactus signifies bravery and endurance...that's why you got so many of them...I was talking about the petunias kept over there...petunias signify anger and resentment...

you would wanna think twice before giving anyone yellow flowers...most of them...not all...but most of them have a negative meaning...like ..yellow carnation is for disdain or rejection or disappointment...yellow chrysanthemum is for slighted love...yellow hyacinth is for jealousy...a single daffodil is for misfortune... one more flower you should never give anyone is an orange lily...unless you hate his/her guts of course ... Kalpi knew she was rambling.

Raghav: With amusing look on his face he said trust me Kalpi...if I hate someone ...giving him/her flowers will be the last thing on my mind...but this is really interesting...(a little skeptical) you' are telling me that flowers can be used to express any kind of emotion' (he stressed)?

Kalpi: Well...yeah I think so...

Raghav: BTW what does white lilies/roses express (referring to the flowers which she has put in the vase)

Kalpi: (smiles) Peace

Without wasting a moment Raghav said: :ok...lets see...how about... when you want to reject someone?

Kalpi didn't reply as she could not figure out if Raghav was serious or just pulling her leg😕

Raghav: come on tell me kya hua is that all you know about flowers (taunting)?

Kalpi: striped carnation...it means...sorry...i cannot be with you...

Raghav: I am sorry...

Kalpi: purple hyacinth...

Raghav: beware...

Kalpi: Monkshood...

Raghav: You are adorable ...

Kalpi: white camellia or pink rose...

Raghav: lets be friends...

Kalpi: yellow rose...

Raghav: Thank you...

Kalpi: dark pink rose...

Raghav: hmmm...Congrats...

Kalpi: red and yellow roses...

Raghav: my heart pines for you...

Kalpi: red carnation...

Raghav: I am in love with you...

Kalpi's heart skipped a beat...she looked at Raghav wide eyed ...Raghav realizing what he had just said mentally hit himself on the head ... but couldnt help but smile looking at Kalpi ...

Raghav: (taking to himself)...I have to go die now...

Raghav looked at the door and saw Sammy and Pakhi staring at them...shocked ...they had come when Raghav said 'I am in love with you'... Hearing those words they had frozen on the spot...

Raghav: Guys...Kalpi was telling me about the flowers used for expressing various emotions...That's all...

Both of them relaxed and came inside...

Sammy: When we heard you speak the forbidden words...we thought we had entered some sort of parallel universe...you know...the whole alternate reality thingy...

Pakhi: speak for yourself Sammy...I don't believe in that crap...

Sammy: waise Kalpana...do you know of any flowers which mean 'elope with me'... (looking at Pakhi)

Pakhi: hanh haan...tumhe tho aise hi flowers mein interest hoga naa?

Sammy: arey yaar...main to general knowledge ke liye pooch raha tha...

Kalpi: actually spider flower means the exact same thing...

Pakhi: no way...you are kidding me...rite?

Kalpi: no...its true...as I said before...flowers can be used to express most emotions...

Pakhi: (to Sammy) ok...i have got one for you...which flower means 'i hate everything about you for no apparent reason and would love to beat the hell out of you the next time I see you'...

Kalpi: fortunately for mankind...we don't have any flowers to express that...you will have to stick to plain old speech to express that...I just hope I am never on the receiving end of that speech...

Sammy: But the matter of fact is how do Kalpi know so much about flowers???

All eyes were on Kalpi now... before could speak Pakhi interrupted, " I know how"

Pakhi: she worked part time at a flower shop to pay her college fee.

Raghav: great...that sounds like Kalpana Jadav!!

Pakhi & Sammy gave Raghav surprised look for appreciating Kalpi

Raghav: what!! I mean how many intelligent flower girls you can name...

Sammy: you know even I was thinking the same

Kalpi could not help but smile at this and decided to leave. Sammy was staying with Raghav tonight. Pakhi offered Kalpi a ride home as she too wanted to meet Kamla maa.

Kalpi: ok Raghav...I will see you tomorrow...good night...

Raghav: (smiling) good night...

Kalpi started to leave...she had almost reached the door...when remembering something she turned back... Raghav looked at her a little surprised...

Kalpi: red roses or red tulips...

Raghav: (smiled)...thanks...I will remember that...
