A Twisted Tale part 7

Singhania Mansion

It was around 5:30 pm when she reached Raghav's home. Raghav was watching news he felt her presence but still pretended not noticing her. He was looking very handsome in casual jeans and T shirt. Kalpi brushed these thoughts aside and made a noise to draw his attention. Finally turned around and saw ger standing there. Kalpi was looking here and there expecting him to speak. He kept on staring her. She was looking beautiful in faded black jeans and blue top... but within minutes the smile was replaced by a frown ...

Raghav: (in serious tone) Oh great!...so you finally decided to talk to me...

Kalpi: What are you talking about?

Raghav: Kalpi...I know I overreacted in the morning...but the fact remains that you didn't tell me what you should have told me... so in a way...it was your fault too... even then... I apologized because I knew that the way I had reacted was not right...and because I didn't give you a chance to explain... But you just couldnt forgive me...could you? ...I tried calling you like a hundred times from the morning...but you didn't answer a single call (raising his voice)

Kalpi just stood there looking at him...her arms crossed. Then she fetched a glass of water and offered it to Raghav.

Raghav: (raising an eyebrow)...Well..??

Kalpi: Well..what??

Raghav: Aren't you gonna say anything?

Kalpi: I'll think about it once you are done

Raghav: yeah...pretty much

Kalpi: I forgot my cell at home in the morning...

Raghav: (feeling a little sheepish)..Oh...I didn't know...

Kalpi: yeah...I kinda figured that out after hearing your "you-are-no-better-than-me" speech...

Raghav smiled...

Kalpi: I got the flowers you had sent...I thought of calling you then...but then I decided it would be better if I talked to you in person...(pausing) ... thanks for the flowers...and the card...it was really sweet of you...I can't believe you remembered which flowers to use...

Raghav: (with a cute expression) How could I forget... (Kalpi blushed remembering the way that conversation had gone )...

Kalpi: (forcing her thoughts back to the present)Raghav...I am really sorry for not...

Raghav: (Before Kalpi could finish) don't worry about that...you had your reasons...

Kalpi: You have changed?

Raghav: No, I havn't. You just know me a little better now. anyways...how was your day?

Kalpi: (settling on the sofa) It was fine.. (.except for this really annoying man I kept bumping into...I seriously hate him...

Raghav: ( a little concerned ) woah...hold on a sec...ANNOYING MAN?...what did he do?...did he misbehave or something?

Kalpi: (shocked)...no...of course not...he is a pretty decent guy...arrogant, vain, too smart for his own good, irritating, annoying...but decent all the same..

(Remembering the way he had held his car's door open for her)...and well-mannered...(smiling)...and funny... hmmm...I guess 'hate' is a pretty strong word...

A wave of insecurity ran through his whole body.

Raghav: (not liking the way Kalpi was thinking about this guy...whoever it was)...no...of course not Kalpi...hate is the perfect word...(Kalpi looked at Raghav surprised)...I mean...he must have been really annoying...if you felt like using that word in the first place...

Before Kalpi could respond he said

Raghav: forget him, lets do some work.

Kalpi: alright.

It was already 9 o'clock and they were still working. It started raining outside.

Kalpi's POV: Abhi bahut kaam hai Kalpi aaj to late ho jayegi. I'sholud inform aai.

Kalpi: (to Raghav) ek phone kr loon

Raghav: (giving his cell phone) sure

Kalpi dialed Kamla's number nobody picked. She tried again this time someone picked up the call

Kamla: hello aai vo main aaj...

Voice at the other end: Hello Kalpi, its me Pakhi.

Kalpi: Pakhi???? Tu waha kya kr rahi hai? Or Aai kahan hai??

Raghav noticed sadness in her tone

Pakhi: Arey hum sab yahan game khel rahein hai, Kamla maa bhi bahut maza aa raha hai, kash kalpi tub hi yahn hoti

Kalpi: Ohhh (hurt)

Kalpi: aai se kehna ki m at Singhania Mansion or mujhe shayad der ho jayegi ghar aane mein

Kalpi disconnected the call, Raghav could clearly see the pain in her partially moist eyes. He excused herself.

Kalpi's POV: Why she never has any time for me... she didn't even care if m fine or not...she completely forgets me when Pakhi is around.

She wiped off her tears and slumped back into the sofa.. Raghav was watching this from a distance

Raghav's POV: Why are you doing this Kamla maa... can't you see the pain Kalpi is going through. Why there is so much distance between them. I need to fix this problem. Can't see her in pain.

He came back in room and started working again

Raghav: (to kalpi) dinner????

Kalpi: No thnk u.

Raghav: not again...!!! we don't know how much more time it would take to finish this thing. So come with and have dinner first.

Kalpi didn't argue this time. They were having dinner when suddenly Kalpi started coughing badly.

Raghav: (concerned) what happened??

Kalpi: (breaking voice) I d...o...nt kno..w.

Raghav: (woke up from his seat) Kalpi u alright?

Kalpi: s..e...same see...d (while still coughing)

Raghav: (sounding more worried) You are allergic to sesame seed???

Kalpi: only nodded in a yes.

Raghav: I should call a doctor

He was about to call but Kalpi stop him from calling by holding his arm. She was still coughing. Her face turned red and tears were rolling down from her eyes. She signaled towards her purse.

Raghv: you have medicines?

Kalpi: i...n my pu...rse

Raghav immediately gave her the purse. Kalpi took the medicine. It took a little while for her to relax again. She saw a fear and anger in Raghav eyes.

Raghav: (holding Kalpi from her arms) Why didn't you tell me before. What if something had happened to you? How could you be careless???

Kalpi: (with moist eyes) I didn't realise it can be that serious.

Raghav: ohhh so were u actually planning to die (tightening his grip around her arms)

He was straight into her eyes. Kalpi winced in pain. Realising what he did Raghav freed her arms from his grip.

Raghav: I'm really sorry Kalpi. I was worried... m very sorry.

Kalpi: It's okay i understand.

Raghav: I think you need to rest

Kalpi: No I'm fine now, you are a patient and the one who should be resting.

Raghav: we have to finish it tonight.

Kalpi: we will. First take ur medicines.

Raghav: I hate medicines (he scowled making a face)

Kalpi: That was really funny.

Kalpi started laughing at his expressions and Raghav too joined her.

Raghav's POV: thank god she is all right. How can she be careless? I wonder how she manages to get into trouble ane after one.

Raghav: You can stay here tonight.

Kalpi: No it's really fine... I can go home.

Raghav: We still have a lot work to do, It's raining outside... and you are not well so, don't argue (gives don't start with me kind-a look). Now Call Kamla Maa and tell her that you are staying her (commanding).

Kalpi was left speechless she took the phone and called Kamla..

Kalpi: hello aai aaj main ghar nahin aa paungi... thoda kaam baki hai

Kamla: Raghav baba tere sath hai na

Kalpi: (looks at Raghav) haan aai vo yahin hai... subha milti hoon bye.

Call ended.

Kalpi: thank u ab kaam kr lein?

Raghav: bilkul.

Raghav gave Kalpi few suggestions and she applied them immediately. Both were stealing glances. They finished the work around 4:30 am.

Raghav: finally It's done. Thnks to u

Kalpi: thanks to u too (smiles).

Raghav: feeling sleepy???

Kalpi: neah, i'm a night bird.

Raghav: So??

Kalpi: so??

Raghav: can we talk?

Kalpi: are you serious??

Raghav: very serious. Why are u so upset with Kamla maa?

Kalpi: (hesitatingly) no i'm not.

Raghav: Don't think I'm a fool. You always don't have to be so strong... You need to put your gurds down... let ur pain come out Kalpi.

Kalpi: I don't want to talk about it!

Raghav: (angrily) Why? (getting close to her)

Kalpi: (snapped in anger) Because it's my problem not yours! I'm going to sleep (turns to leave)

Raghav: (holds her hand and pull her towards him) You are not going unless we are done with this topic... understand!

Kalpi: Raghav aap mujhe hurt kr rahe ho? Let me go (struggling to free herself)

Raghav pinned her to the wall of his room... he could see the fear n tears brewing in her eyes but he tightened his grip.

Kalpi: Raghav aap kya kr rahe ho... please let me go... you are hurting me (she cried in pain & anger)

Raghav: (narrowing the distance between their lips) What if I don't let you go?

Kalpi: What is wrong with you, I'm telling you for the last time let me go or I'll beat the shit out of you (swearing angrily)

Raghav: Really, show me how (brings his lips near her trembling lips)

Kalpi closed her eyes & turned her face away. She gathered her strength and push him very hard. Raghav was now few steps away from her.

Kalpi: (crying and yelling) how can you behave like this to me... how???? I hate you (rambling and throwing things on Raghav hysterically).

Raghav: (in calm voice) After all this you are still standing here and confronting me then why not your mom. Tell her about you pain.

Kalpi: (confused with his words) You did this all purposely... didn't you...????

Raghav was looking down & didn't say a word.

Kalpi: Answer me damittt (yelling angrily)

Raghav: I had no choice Kalpi. Tumhe andar hi andar ghutate hue nahi dekh skta main i'm sorr... slappp!

Kalpi: I hate you, Raghav. I hate you.

She went to different room crying and closed the door. Behind her, she heard a sound of breaking of a glass but wasn't certain about it.

Raghav: (looks at his bleeding hand) I'm sorry Kalpi,,, I'm really am for hurting you... scold me,,,, hit me but please don't hate me... please!

Wht is my name doing in the FF.. 🤔... And tune Raghav and Kalpi ko rula diya ???? Ab mujhe bhi rona aa rahi hain... 😭... On serious note, awesum update... Update soon... 😃... But seriously wht is my name doing in ur FF ?
