Shravan was reading his favourite Law Book. It was a little late into the night, about 12. Sleep had been snatched from him as he felt he had known too much to 'sleep' anymore now. He turned over the last page and in bold letters was penned

Ignorance Is Strength

Ironical, but true. He bit his lip and smirked. He knew what to do now.

The Next Day

Suman's head felt dizzy, still. Her body felt heavy and she couldn't recollect a thing how she'd landed straight in her bed from Malhotra House. Maamiji had told her to get ready for the Pagphera Rasam, wherein Pushkar would be bringing Preeti back, for a day. That meant the entire family would be there, including Shravan and Aditya.

What exactly did she do yesterday? How will she face Shravan now? How must he have felt after knowing of her marriage with Aditya? There were too many questions!

How and when did life become so messy?

She wore a Peach Anarkali teamed with Golden Jhumkas. She braided her hair to one side, cascading over her right shoulder.

Suddenly, she felt a tug on her waist. Someone was holding onto her , tight.

"Di!!!", shouted Preeti.

Ohh! There was she!

She turned around to see her small sister dressed as a pretty married woman now. The sindoor and mangalsutra looked so gorgeous on her! She sighed on the fact that she would look similarly, just in a few weeks.

Both of them came outside to see the house bustling with people. She saw Aditya. He looked a bit dull and his grinn was missing. Not that she was interested to know about him but still, the change was evident. She felt a bit shy, the way everyone were staring at her. At least she felt so.

"Sumo, what had you done??", she tried to recall but in vain.

Then, her gaze met Shravan. Oh my! He was dressed in a light pink kurta, a shade higher than hers. On it were tucked Golden buttons, similar to her golden jhumkaas.

"Sumo, stop openly daydreaming", she reprimanded her thought process.

Pushkar, Preeti went upstairs to take Nanu's blessings while the others exchanged gifts of Shagun.

But no one was aware of the forthcoming loss

Suddenly, Suman heard Preeti's scream. She ran upstairs followed by Shravan, Aditya and Varun.

And what she saw made her back off. Nanu was lying still on the bed, with a certain faint smile on His face while Preeti was crying inconsolably.

The Nurse checked his pulse and shook her head. The old man had silently and peacefully passed away in his sleep.
