This thread is amazing! I loved reading through it. So many articulate and insightful thoughts ... right from the topic starter to most of the people who replied, everyone made such good points. I don't think I have anything left to add except that I completely agree! It's awfully sad what women in so many societies have to go through in the name of religion/culture/honour and what not. *sigh*

So nice to see an interesting and thought provoking discussion in this forum!

I am glad that you read through the entire thread and agree with us mostly. At least voicing out thoughts in this little place gave us an insight into what women suffer all over the world - in both orthodox and liberated societies. It is just that instruments of control change - otherwise it is the same story everywhere.
