The ironic thing is that I am taking a sociology women's studies course at my college this semester.
My first class was like 2 days ago, right when this topic began. What a great way to start a new course with some great background info! Thanks u pocs ๐Ÿ˜ณ

It's not a famous magazine YET, it started in July 2009, but it's getting popular a lot. It's read by a lot of people. So again if you all want... ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Ooooh...I'd love to read your novel...unfortuanately my exams are in a week but I'll read your work after they finish, promise. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
Sure!!! Why not get it published in a magazine like that! That'd be great! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ And I also think we should talk to a popular daily...I've got "Times Of India" in mind...they like to take different initiatives, and I think they'll like our views and ideas. I just thought that since we've started this topic, maybe we could actually work on the issue we're discussing with so much enthusiasm here. If many more ppl get to know about this, then we'll get more opinions, and awareness always helps...๐Ÿ˜ƒ ๐Ÿ˜ณ

Hi pocahontas! This is Lahari, khushboo's friend. Actually it's khushboo who told me about your post and just to find out what"s so intriguing about your post, that I joined India forums.
It's really a very good topicโญ๏ธ and your views about us "Women in a damn society" is absolutely true. I have read a few comments that say THIS GEN people are not that typical
Uski shaadi toot gayee, ab usse kaun shaadi karega?

- She has had three affairs. Which decent man will marry her?

- You have to retain family honour. Don't tell your husband about your past love life!
But I guess ther are still a million of such people in India who cultivate such CHEAP feelings within them. These people are just so intolerable.
The other point of view I smelled in your post is MEN RULES THE SOCIETY๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ˜ก Aghrrrrr............... this really gets me on my nerves....this is really very very intolerable peice of truth for any girl in our stone aged society. Its those men who take away the credit of our(women) job. For instance, let me give you a view of this.
Lets take into account THE TYPICAL INDIAN BAHU. Ya...in daily life its their toil and hardwork that allows a man to rest. Its women who with her love and affection weaves the thread of A HAPPY FAMILY....but the CROOKED people in the society say THE MAN EARNS THE MONEY. HE SHOULD GET THE GOOD.๐Ÿ˜’๐Ÿ˜’
Even in the small teenage love stories the bloody boy becomes the culprit who breaks the gil's heart๐Ÿ’”( in most cases)
And aren't the teenage girls most unsafe to live in the society????They always have the fear of getting molested and all. You see.. its us who finally are humiliated in the society. But yes if there is awareness
all over in such a way that it gets the men's existence hard, only then I think we can get THE BEST POSITION in our crap society!
M sorry if I was a bit off topic. But the topic got out so much of unsoken words of me.
Thanks ya for such a good post.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ It was worth "not studying for my boards" all this time while reading and commenting on it.I SIMPLY LOVED YOUR POST. A GREAT JOB!!

Hi Lahari ,

Welcome to the forum and it is so sweet of you to that you read through this post and cared to reply. Thanks to you and Khushboo. ๐Ÿ˜ณ

I agree with you that men have a lot of role to play in the state of women in most parts of the society. It is a natural control of the gender - but what is not natural is the cow-like acceptance that women give to such treatment. Men would never rule women unless they allow them to and sadly , in most cases , either women have no voice or else they join hands with men in retaining this unequal balance of the genders in society.

What needs to end is the archaic community wisdom that separates the freedom of women from the freedom of men. Men and women may not be equal. But their right to freedom and basic humanity is definitely EQUAL.

Love and luck always,

God bless you.

WOW! ๐Ÿ˜ณ

You actually made your Mum sit through our ramblings? ๐Ÿ˜†.... I am glad she read what the next generation of women thinks and i hope it gives her a hopeful picture of women of tomorrow. Meenzy had said that she could get this published. Let me see if she gets back at this.

I am glad this post happened. We got to know so much about women in various societies and how they deal with everyday issues and bigger issues.

Convey my thanks to your Mum.

Love and luck always,

GOD bless you. ๐Ÿค—
